Wikihow has a simple tutorial on how to create a pop-up from a photograph or magazine image. All that is required is several duplicates of the same photo, scissors and a glue stick. Detailed instructions with pictures are located here. Now what did I do with those vacation photos from last year? ^^

| Fighter Jet Papercraft: Chinese MiG 17 |

Near the end of the Korean War, the Soviet Union developed the MiG 17 fighter jet to replace the MiG 15. In the mid 1960's during the Vietnam War, the North Vietnamese Air Force made use of the MiG 17. This paper model MiG has the camouflage and markings of Chinese Air Force. The template for the jet is a free sample provided by the now defunct Gabriel Aircraft Card Model Company. Look for the link in the upper right corner of the page here.

| Deadpool Cubee Paper Toy |

There are quite a few Deadpool cubees around, but this one by Randyfivesix is my favorite. Although not pictured above, this paper toy includes Deadpool's signature katana swords. The two pages of the template are available here and here. Deadpool is a Marvel Comics character created by artist Rob Liefield in 1991.

Here are some simple, but beautiful papercraft gemstones from Kate at the Minieco website. As you can see, Kate loves brilliant colors. ^^ These gems were created by printing a blank template on color cardstock. There are many uses for the gems including Christmas decorations, mobiles, and garlands. Also available at Minieco are templates for platonic solids. | Architecture Papercraft: Alhambra Palace |

The Alhambra palace in Granada, Spain is an example of the Mudéjar style of architecture. Mudéjar architecture is a mixture of European and Moorish architectural elements that resulted from Christian and Muslim cultures living side by side in Spain from the 12th through the 16th Centuries. This easy-to-build paper model of the Alhambra is offered by the bastelbogen-online website. | Antique Papercraft: Orphan Annie Circus |

Vintage paper toys always bring a smile. ^^ This Orphan Annie Goofy Circus was a mail-in offer by Ovaltine in the late 1930's. Scans of some of the circus pieces may be viewed at a website devoted to C. Carey Cloud, the designer of the papercraft. Cloud is probably best remembered for his work as a Cracker Jack prize designer. He produced toy designs for the snack company for thirty some years from the 1930's to the 1960's.

Remember when you cut out paper snowflakes in elementary school? Courts Carter has a nifty new take on the childhood craft: a zombie snowflake! It's just the decoration for those looking to have a zombie Christmas. PDF instructions for the snowflake are available on Carter's Pizza by the Slice website. This is one of those projects that proves papercraft doesn't have to be 3D in order to be fun. :)

Tintin is the star of the long running European comic book series The Adventures of Tintin. This month a movie based on the series is scheduled be released (directed by Stephen Spielberg and produced by Peter Jackson!).
