Ayami Kawashima is a Japanese painter from Tokyo and a current senior student at OTIS College of Art and Design. Ayami began learning classical ballet at the age of three, and studied abroad at a notorious art school in Boston as a ballet major from fourteen. She went through a succession of injuries and surgeries, and a particular painting of a ballet dancer that was created during her rehabilitation was highly appraised by the principal of OTIS, which led to her admission to the school.
