Motorcycle Suspension Setup
2009-10-17 13:51:00
Found a great artical about motorcycle suspension setup, that could be usefull for all of us hyosung gt owners Motorcycle Suspension Setup: Getting to Grips with a Black Art By Mark J Thompson Suspension Set-up: The basics Whether you are a road rider or a racer correct suspension setup is the key to fast smooth riding and consistent lap times. To get the best out of your bike it needs to be set up for the conditions in which you will be riding. It is considerably easier to set the bike up for the Track as you know what conditions will be like for the next hour or so and thus you can dial in the optimum settings for the that particular situation. To what extent you change your suspension settings will depend on whether your bike will also have to cope with riding on the road. Unlike Roads Tracks are generally smooth and grippy. So if you are only going to use the bike on the track you have the luxury of fitting harder springs and modifying the fork and shock internals. If you ...

Hyosung Aftermarket Parts
2009-10-14 14:52:00
The one thing about the hyosung make is there lack of aftermarket parts. This isn't suprising since they have only really been in the bizz properly since 2004/5. Things are starting to look better though, many brands are noticing they aren't justa flash in the pan brand, they are here to stay and popularity is rising rapidly. This brings about more and more aftermarket companys looking to capitalise on this. First off lets look at the place in and out of the uk were you can get standard/replacment parts. The biggest and the best: http://www.richardhyosunggvgt.com/ Richard is a great bloke and stocks anything hyosung, if its not on the website give him a ring and he'll give you one of the best prices around. From comments i have read about his service i have gathered  no matter were you are in the world he will get the parts to you as quick as humanly possible, or quicker! http://www.startright.co.uk/ From personal experiance i know how good these guys are, nearly everyth...

Interchangable parts
2009-10-13 15:23:00
hello, im gonna start a list of parts that fit the hyosung gt models, but come from other bikes. As Hyosung is still gaining its presence there are few aftermarket parts, so we need to make some fit. If there are any modifications to the parts or the bike i will note them. heres a short list, i will undate with info as i get it. mirrors Honda CBR 600 F4 (1999-2000) CBR 600RR (2003-2008) CBR 600 F4i (2000-2006) CBR 929 RR (2000-2001) CBR 954 RR (2002-2003) CBR 1000 RR (2003-2008) RC51 VTR 1000 (2000-2005) Suzuki GSXR 600 (2001-2007) GSXR 750 (2001-2007) GSXR 1000 (2000-2006) GSXR 1300 Hayabusa (1999-2006) SV650 (2002-2006) SV1000 (2002-2006) *note*always buy the mirrors with adjustable bolts spacing to ensure a fit. rear shock no confirmed information, but the 90's GSXR 750 shocks are supposed to be a good match. heres the standard shock information, for those of you getting one custom made Spring Length 172mm Shock Length 344mm overall 312mm bolt centres Coil dia 70mm wire...

Hyosung GT Seat cowl Part 2 (The Mould)
2009-10-11 14:38:00
Onto the next part of creating the my seat cowl for the Hyosung GT125R. Just to mention all the body parts i create for the bike are also a perfect fit for the GT250 and GT650 naked/R/S model bikes as they all use the same fairings. Right now that i have created the plug seat cowl i can get on with creating the mould. This has two benefits over just painting the plug and using that. 1. I will be able to make the part alot lighter by only using fibreglass for the shape and not all the wood, filler, and old seat parts. 2. once the mould is created i will be able to make the part over and over again. (allowing me to sell these in the future) The first thing that needs to be done is secure the part to a flat object, this could be glass, wood, cardboard, or similar. This allows the mould to have a lip, making it easy to release the final object without damaging the parts surface. Once secured you need to fill around the edges with plasticine, silicone sealant, or clay. I use silico...

Hyosung GT Seat cowl Part 1 (The Plug)
2009-10-09 13:52:00
Hello again, this post is all about the seat cowl i am making for my bike, and eventually for everyone else's bike who wants one. I plan to make them on a permanant basis and sell them through ebay. the design of the cowl was a hard grind to get it right, and i have to thank the guys at www.korider.com for helping me out as they have seen the progress from the begining, and some of them have already purchased one of my cowls and from what they say they are very happy with them. The first order of bussiness was to decide how the cowl would look on the bike. After a few ideas i settled with a design that closley followed the lines of the rear end around the sides, but had a "hump" type shape in the center. the best way to explain it is with a picture, so here is one of the final shape. Sorry about the quality of the images, i am working on this till late at night and when i get round to photographing my progress i'm half asleep.  Anyway to get to this stage i got hold of a us...
