| SPY PHOTOS: IS THIS 2+2 COUPE ACURA'S NEW NSX? |

Nissan and Lexus have entered the high-dollar, high performance "supercar" game, so it was only a matter of time before Acura revived its NSX program, arguably the first Japanese "supercar" to hit American shores. Brenda Priddy's network of spy photographers caught this prototype, which Priddy says is the new NSX, expected to debut sometime next year.
Unlike the previous mid-engine NSX, this prototype runs a front-mid engine, the powerplant placed well behind the front wheels to ensure excellent weight distribution, Priddy notes. This should also allow the new NSX to offer 2+2 cabin accommodation and broaden its appeal, particularly in the Unites States. Exactly what powerplant will motivate the NSX is subject to much rumor and conjecture. There has been talk, Priddy says, of a high-revving, naturally-aspirated V10, which would fit nicely with Acura's Type R philosophy.
Acura has never obsessed over big horsepower outputs, but 450 hp seems likely if the NSX is to compete in the sup...

So BMW decided to do something so different it can only be referred to as "revolutionary." BMW developed the new GINA concept vehicle with an exterior made of a flexible fabric material over a moveable wire mesh frame. This creates a seamless surface that can move and alter its shape. If you want more downforce, extend the rear wing. If you want a more aggressive hood, then control the contours of it. This GINA vehicle is really something to be seen in action.

In our efforts to update and educate on the latest news in the automotive industry we recently came across this article on the latest in combustion technology. The Ronn Scorpion is powered by the latest high tech Acura V-Tech, V-6, Type S, 3.5 Liter power-plant from the 2008 TL TypeS. On board will be our Hydrogen on demand system, which provides 130 octane Hydrogen in real time, blended with gasoline in ratios of 30-50%. Coupled with a close ratio six-speed transmission and other fuel saving measures, the "Scorpion", highway fuel economy will be in the 40 mpg range, and capable of producing 450 horsepower with the twin-turbo option.
Hydrogen Fuel Injection (HFI):
Produces hydrogen during vehicle operation through electrolysis of water using the power generated from the vehicles electrical system. The Infiniti G35 and its cousin the Nissan 350Z are both sports cars that take wheel and rim upgrades very well. In fact, a 20 inch staggered set of rims is a standard set up on either car.

The Jaguar XF is the hottest and newest entry into the luxury sport sedan market. As if the regular Jaguar was not exclusive enough, this Jaguar XF is supercharged! This Jaguar XF pumps out over 420 HP and goes 0-60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

You can increase gas mileage up to 10% just by changing your air filter, according to the EPA's FuelEconomy.com site. The air filter is a piece of thick corrugated paper with a rubber ring around it. And boy, does it get dirty. This dirt prevents your engine from getting enough clean air. It's very easy to change the air filter on many cars. Most filters cost $5 to $15. Two screws or a couple of clips, five minutes, and it's replaced.

| Scion tC Drift Car with Enkei Wheels? |

When someone mentions drifting, the Scion tC is one of the last cars that you would think of. To begin with the Scion tC is a front-wheel drive car which is the opposite of what you need for drifting. But this obviously did not stand in the way of a Toyota, RS*R, and Enkei team that created an incredible Scion tC drift monster.
The factory built front-wheel drive tC was turned into a drifting contender through a rear-wheel drive conversion performed by Japanese tuning and performance parts manufacturer, RS*R. To drift, the Scion tC was fitted with an all-wheel drive conversion. The Scion tC shares its platform with Toyota's Japanese market Avensis four-wheel drive and Caldina all-wheel drive, enabling it to undergo the conversion. Last but not least, the Scion tC is fitted with a set of hot Enkei wheels, Enkei RP03 wheels in SBC Chrome to be exact.

| US Senator 22-inch Chrome Rims Stolen |

If you did not hear about this a couple of months back, let this story be a cautionary tale on protecting your expensive custom wheels and tires. Anyone can get their wheels stolen at any time, so the best thing to do is make sure that you have wheel locks on each of your wheels. While this will not prevent someone from stealing your car, this will prevent them from stealing your wheels.
This is exactly what happened to Don Perata (D - Oakland). The Senator was driving his Senate-owned 2006 Dodge Charger set with 22-inch chrome wheels and a Candy Apple Red paint job when he was startled by a man knocking on his window... with a gun. The jacker instructed him to get out of the car. Perata was shaken up but otherwise fine.
Since the story broke a couple of months ago, the Senator's car was recovered. Surprisingly enough, it still had the wheels because each wheel had a wheel lock that the preps could not get off the wheels. Moral of the story is that a $40 set of wheel lock...

As we reported here on the wheel and tire blog on February 29th the Lamborghini Gallardo was getting some significant facelifts. In that article we only had the test car spy shots of the new Lamborghini, but now we found the real deal pics of the new Gallardo. The car has received a new front spoiler, even more aggressive lines, and a revamped rear-valence that is out of this world. The official press release is not yet available, but the Gallardo is powered by a 5.2 liter V-10. This engine gets the car from 0-60 in under 4.0 seconds. Rancho Cucamonga, CA ... On Monday, March 3rd, David Hudrlik, Kumho Tires VP of Sales resigned his position at Kumho effective as of February 29th, 2008. In the wake of Hudrlik, Kumho Tires went to look for his replacement. Kumho did not have to look very far as they choose to fill the position internally and stick with a Kumho team member who already understood the Kumho culture and philosophy. Effective, March 4th, Jim Milhaupt will assume the position of VP of Sales for all of Kumho Tire USA. Most recently Milhaupt was the Regional Vice

Sarasota, FL... Today we close the chapter on another month and we present February's Customer Car of the Month. This month's car belongs to Adrian R. of Sarasota, FL. Adrian drives a clean blue 2006 Nissan 350Z. To pump up his 350Z, Adrian added a set of 19" wheels. Adrian added a wheel package of R-1 Racing Drift wheels in gloss black. As any savvy 350Z driver would, Adrian also opted for a set of staggered wheels to get a wider wheel in the rear of his track machine. The R-1 Racing Drift wheels are 19x8.5 in a +20 offset in the front rims and 19x9.5 in a +25 offset in the rear rims. As with all R-1 Racing Wheels, the Drift wheels have a super deep lip that comes in the R-1 Racing Patented Chrome Stainless Steel Wheel Lip Technology. The 19" wheels are wrapped in W rated rubber from Federal SS595 Tires. He sports a 245/35/19 tire in the front and a 275/30/19 tire in the rear. | Car Feature: Spy Shots, Lambo Gallardo gets facelift |

Spy photographer Pedro Domingues, part of Brenda Priddy & Company's
network of covert auto shooters, snapped these shots of the
forthcoming Lamborghini Gallardo LP550 in Portugal, ahead of its debut
at the Geneva Auto Show.
Priddy says the car, painted orange but almost completely covered in
black tape, is said to be powered by a 5.2L V10 with 550hp. Priddy
says her photographer saw "some top-end cars, such as the Maserati
GranTurismo and Porsche 911 (on the track) testing. Among those cars
was an orange Lamborghini Gallardo covered in black tape. This
Gallardo had a different front bumper, smaller headlights, double dual
exhaust, and the rear ventilation grille was one single piece instead
of three portions."
The Gallardo LP550 has re-designed front and rear fascias and rides
on a stiffer body. Along with mechanical updates, an improved (and
lighter) all-wheel-drive system and upgraded brakes, the LP550 will
also come with an upgraded price tag, estimated somewhere in the $200k...

| Kumho to develop tires for Porsche 911 GT3 RSR |

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA... Kumho Tire has agreed to provide tires for VICI Racing and its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in 2008. At the heart of the partnership will be an innovative tire development program designed specifically for the Porsche RSR and the ALMS GT2 class championship. VICI Racing will contest the season with a 2008-specification Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, starting at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, with a second car joining the line-up later on.

| Wheel tuner legend Boyd Coddington Dies at age 63 |

Boyd Coddington, the hot rod legend behind thousands of show winning vehicles and countless wheel designs and aftermarket industry trends died this morning at 6:20am. The cause of Coddington's death is still unknown. Coddington had been recently hospitalized for an undisclosed condition, and was expected to recover.
Coddington's spokesperson confirmed to the blog Jalopnik that the rumers of his death were in fact true. A statement will be released later today. Needless to be said, Coddington was an inspiration to thousands and his legacy will live on in those who found inspiration though his automotive works of art.
