USA: Mid-Atlantic Rally next week!

The Land Rover National Rally just finished and the Mid-Atlantic Rally is scheduled for next week so you know enthusiasts in the USA are definitely having a great time this summer. MAR starts on October 2nd and runs through the 5th and is expected to be the largest Land Rover event in the US. This year’s event will be held at the Oakridge Estate located in Arrington, Virginia, which offers up to 40 miles of off-roading. They'll be celebrating Land Rover's 60th anniversary too. Registration is $105 per Land Rover and occupants are only limited by as many people as you can fit in your Rover! Full press release below....

UK: Production Kahn Cosworth 300 Sport unveiled!

Kahn Design released a new photo today of the production Kahn Cosworth 300 Sport. Previous vehicles shown were prototypes and certainly didn't sport a paint scheme like this, which we think is more suited to its performance intentions. Kahn Cosworth's first model will be TDV8 powered and a new RST300 due in the not too distant future might offer up to 600bhp from a new Land Rover 5.0L petrol V8. Full press release below....
 
Facelifted Range Rover Sport exposed!

Land Rover spy photos have almost become a weekly occurrence and today we have a few more. These new photos of the updated Range Rover Sport, courtesy LeftLaneNews, show new side vents and a new bumper. Although, this bumper could be just a mask as it looks to be bolted on near the sides. We assume the facelifted sport will arrive near the end of 2009 with a few new engines too. LeftLaneNews is reporting that a 5.0L turbo-diesel V8 is powering this Sport, but we're not sure about that. So far we have only heard rumors of a new 5.0L petrol V8. NEW VIDEO: 60 Land Rovers donated to the British Red Cross

In July Land Rover made a donation of 60 vehicles to the British Red Cross in celebration of their 60th anniversary. The vehicles were received by HRH The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace, which we've previously reported "LINK HERE". A new video has just been released by Land Rover that gives a behind the scenes look at the event and proceedings which involved Land Rover aligning the vehicles very precisely in the Palace quad and doing so according to a very strict time schedule. YouTube video from 2007 Surf World Cup Sylt Land Rover Germany is sponsoring the Surf World Cup Sylt competition again this year. It's the biggest windsurfing event in the world and kicks off on September 26. Over 200,000 spectators are expected to attend with over 100 of the best windsurfers from around the world competing. South Africa: Married couple qualify for Land Rover G4 Challenge National Selections!

Husband and wife Ian and Susan Don-Wauchope made history today when they became the first married couple to qualify for National Selections in the search for South Africa’s two-person team for the Land Rover G4 Challenge. They’ll meet Tatum Prins, Abbey Mediema, Jeannie Bomford, Jan Schutte, Andre Gie and Richard Kolbe as well as the top eight runners-up and four wild cards (selected by Land Rover South Africa) in Lesotho next month. Runners-up in this last rotation of the Regional Selections were Jennifer Soutar, Christine Woods, Jeremy Green and Craig Carter-Brown. "At the National Selections we will be looking for two men and two women to go forward to the International Selections in England next year, when one South African man and one South African woman will be chosen to participate in the Challenge itself," said Land Rover South Africa’s General Manager of Marketing and Sales, Roland Reid.
