MotorAuthority has spotted the 2010 facelifted Range Rover out testing under wraps in the USA. According to MotorAuthority, the exterior of the facelift Range Rover will include new bumpers, a new grille, and new front headlights and tail lights. The interior has been freshened with a new steering wheel design as well as a few other interior upgrades. Upon second glace we’ve discovered that this prototype no longer uses the round turn indicators in the integrated headlights. The turn indicators seem to resemble those found on the 2004 Range Stormer Concept, which also included a "Crushed Ice" background that illuminates. There has been much discussion lately about Land Rover's future model plans now that they are owned by Tata. The June 25th issue of Autocar Magazine discussed Land Rover's all-new models, facelifted models and includes release dates. According to Autocar, the LRX (L513) is scheduled for 2011 and an all-new seven-seat Freelander 2 / LR2 based vehicle nicknamed the "Ventura" (L486) is expected in 2012. The all-new Range Rover (L405) is said to be scheduled for a 2013 release and the next Range Rover Sport (L494) hits dealers in 2014. At the recent Defence Vehicle Dynamics UK show MIRA Ltd., a UK automotive and aerospace technology firm, unveiled this autonomous MACE-2 UGV (unmanned ground vehicle), which is based on Land Rover mechanicals. It's built for rock climbing as well as stairs and can reach a top speed of 80mph on road using a hybrid electric powertrain. The MACE-2 is built primarily for defence applications and its advanced sensing technology give it situational awareness, which can also be used to communicate between other similar unmanned vehicles to strategize and plan missions on the battlefield. | Introducing the BAE Systems autonomous Bowler Wildcat! |

BAE Systems sent us photos of their own UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) based on a Land Rover Bowler Wildcat. They've also teamed up with MIRA in support of their MACE-2 autonomous vehicle. According to Barney O'Kelly, Communications Manager at BAE Systems, the UGV project team joined with Bowler to custom build the Wildcat to BAE's specific autonomous vehicle requirements. BAE has two of these vehicles which are used as ongoing mobile labs allowing for continued advances and exploration into autonomous vehicle technology. The Icelandic Land Rover Club recently gathered in Húnaver, Iceland to enjoy an event filled with off-roading and enthusiast comrodary. Around 350 people and 120 vehicles were in attendance, according to chatter on Islandrover.is bulletin boards. Steve Burgess and Dan Evans from the Cape to Cape Land Rover expedition recently crossed the Bering Strait, which is the icy water passage between Russia and Alaska. They didn't travel by ship to Alaska they traveled by Land Rover with inflatable tubes attached to their Defender 110. In the video below you can watch them crossing the icy waters to Alaska. LSE Design's Range Rover Sport Coupe made its debut in the 2008 Gumball Rally, which kicked off this past weekend in San Francisco, California. It’s being driven by celebrities Tyson Beckford, Orlando Jones and Max Ryan. The Gumball Rally is usually full of celebrity drivers as well as billionaires and athletes. Even the Hoff man himself ( David Hasselhoff ) is piloting the original KITT car from the popular 80's TV show Knight Rider. His goal to be the youngest person in the world to climb the tallest mountains on each continent is almost fully realized. At the age of 10 he climbed Kilimanjaro and Kosciuszko.
