SHOW'N'SELL
2012-05-21 07:36:00
Dear Internets,Etsy is a great on-line medium where creative minds can sell their wares but I am definitely a tactile person and as much as I hug my computer screen, it's just not the same thing. Fortunately the Sydney Etsy team, 112 members strong are having 'Show'n'Sell' handmade market at a bar no less.World Bar in a harmonious marriage with The Wall put alcohol in your hands, art on your corneas and local DJ's at our eardrums. What a great place to bury the middle of the week. ♥ pixelhazardis stone cold broke...

HAIR REVAMP
2012-05-17 18:52:00
Dear Internets,My hair has gone from being endlessly long to dramatically short. The change was so drastic that my hair dresser accidentally hung up on a client from the sheer excitement of me saying "do whatever you like, cut it all off or something !". Yeah that's how I roll! It's about shoulder length now and I must admit, I've started to get bored again & Mr Mo misses my long locks.HOW SHALL I COLOUR MY SHOULDER LENGTH HAIR?While you ponder the above important life questions, I shall fill your minds with inspiration via linkswhat blog platform should you use? so mother's day is over. | VINTAGE FAIR |
2012-05-17 18:46:00
Dear Internets, Have you ever been to vintage fair? Its a vast magical place filled with well dressed people and clothing beyond my budgets constraints. Sarahteaa & I went for a little bit of an exploration and though it was quite novel, and our fingers thrilled over the different textured fabric and age of stitches on the racks of garments, we soon got depressed. The shopping sprites had not smiled on us in favour and there's nothing more depressing that leaving a shopping expedition with nothing new, even if it is old but new to you. I did however, and rather unfortunately, develop an obsession with quality millinery which seems to have rubbed off on my little sister too. She kept having to crowbar me off the hat stands. At least I got to torture you with my shoddy photos and we got t...

YEMON LELLOW
2012-05-14 20:42:00
Dear Internets,For you online shopping virgins, it can be quite a daunting thing to consider but living in Australia, we sometimes get our overseas fashion late or not at all. Though you cannot run your fingertips on the fabric or try it on ASOS.com with their size charts and free/cheap shipping has been a dream for me. Being able to shop the world and not have to spend more on postage than the actual items I'm purchasing was what sent me on this shopping spiral & can I be honest? I've never looked back! This bright lime maxi dress has got to be my favourite so far & it was on sale no less $40 WHOOP WHOOP! ♥ pixelhazardmmm nutella pizza...

SUSIE BUBBLE IN SYDNEY
2012-05-09 00:08:00
Dear Internets,You've no doubt heard about all the gorgeous clothing, designers and models that made up Sydney fashion week 2012 but what about the bloggers running around in all the drama? On Thursday afternoon they stopped running, tweeting & posting and paused for a brief 2 hours to attend Portable presents: Susie Bubble at the Dendy theatre in darling harbour.I sat amongst some of the most thoughtfully dressed women and men in Sydney listening to keynote speaker Susie Lau as she discussed the plight of the fashion blogger; past, present and future, and its role in her life. With such a following, internet fame and an eye for style, I was not expecting the sweet, humble woman with a lovely British accent and playfulness that belies her six years of...

DI$COUNT
2012-05-07 02:30:00
Dear Internets,Think of what would happen if an oil slick rainbow met the green fairy and had clothing babies. Seems like a very convoluted thing to imagine but it's what is required to prep you for the awesome that is Melbourne (Australian) based clothing line DI$COUNT founded by designers Nadia Napreychikov and Cami James. You do need to check your previous perceptions of the word 'discount' at the rabbit hole before you fall in, but what you get in return are custom prints, sequins and attitude with a price tag for quality. In the designers own words, DI$COUNT is 'a luxury brand that doesn't only cater to the traditional luxury consumer'.Their most recent campaign is only improved by their inclusion of Lola Van Vorst who has blossomed into an great edgy model since her Australia's next t...

OLYMPIA
2012-05-05 21:59:00
Dear Internets, When I go to the markets and see things like clutches made out of old books, I fall into a false sence of security about the extent of my talent and the time I have available to make such things. I look with the perfect amount of curiosity and appreciation and then look distracted and wander off.Often when I have reached a point of no return, I realise that there is no way ever that I would complete a project like that & if I wanted it I really should have made the purchase. This feeling did not even cross my mind when I saw Olympia Le-Tan's gorgeous Handbags and Minaudiers. Being a science nerd, she's particularly peaked my interest with medical based themes.Being the general nerd I am, the use of old books and graphics also suckered me in. And look at how much c...
