Sephora Value Sets
2008-07-23 14:50:16
Sephora is a shop that most product lovers enjoy. The only downside is there are not often sales and not many codes to use now that they have their new "insider" deal going on. They have brought in tons more value deals. These value deals allow you try out a product line with out killing your bank account. Here are few I spotted: Buy them for the bottles love them for the fragrance! This set is not only eye catching but wallet friendly! If you have always wanted to try Jean Paul this is your ch...

Chanel Kaleidoscope & Rose Tourbillon
2008-07-22 14:45:50
*Click pics for a better view if neededKaleidoscope is lovely and unique. However, I just feel the color does not work for me. For some people the color changes from silver to a green old gold. For me it stays the color you see below. Rose Tourbillon is a Nordstrom exclusive though I think it was released in other countries first. The color is not all that unique. In the bottle I was no impressed. Once I put the color on my nails I really started to like it. It is a very soft color with s...

Short Review: Savor Summer Rhubarb Massage Oil
2008-07-21 12:27:49
Savor on Etsy has become a favorite seller of mine. Her soaps are a treat for my skin and the customer service is wonderful. When I saw she had listed some oil I snatched it up right away not even knowing if I'd like the smell. There is not a scent I've tried from Savor that I don't like. Summer Rhubarb takes me back to my honeymoon. We picked up some massage oil from The Body Shop and blended our own scent. To this day I am unable to recall what all we used for the fragrance. Savor has captur...

Nicole Stolen Kisses Polish with a makeup look
2008-07-18 15:29:55
The first picture show the color best. It is little deeper in real life. For those that keep up with Nicole by OPI the line has been revamped. I think this is the older version of the color but not 100% sure.I used Konad Stamping Plate M64 for the design along with their special polish in dark purple. This has become my average makeup look when I wear makeup. I wore the same look yesterday but forgot to take pictures. Lucky for me I saved one from last year. If you are wondering the domain on ...

Review: Nuvo Cosmetics Natural Olive Soap with Lavender
2008-07-16 16:30:35
Natural Olive Oil Soap with Lavender This soap combines two of favorite ingredients: Olive Oil and Lavender. I use olive oil for my cuticles, makeup removal, hair treatments, and just about anything else I can add it to or use it for. Lavender has become my favorite essential oil. It helps create a calming effect and has proven to work well with my skin. Nuvo Cosmetics Natural Olive Oil soap with Lavender left my skin soft and clean. I did not feel dry after using it. The lavender scent is lit...

Review: Nuvo Cosmetics Lavender Floral Water
2008-07-16 16:24:37
Lavender Floral Water I have found myself a new beauty staple. I've always been a water mist user for my face. Even oil skin needs hydration. I also use the water mist to help set my minderal foundation and give it a more natural look. Lately with all the bad weather due to the fires here in California my facial skin has show signs of stress. I naturally have redness but it has become more pronounced over the past few weeks. After just a few days of using Nuvo Cosmetics Lavender Floral Water I ...

Short Review: Skin Genesis Daily Treatment Serum Concentrate & Skin Genesis Daily Moisturizer Oil-Free Lotion
2008-07-15 15:03:23
I did not have the best of luck with this serum. I don't think it was made for my skin type. I have oily combo skin that is acne prone. Looking at the ingredients I knew there was going to be a problem when I came across dimethicone. I gave the product a shot anyways but only used it on my forehead. I do have some expressions lines in that area. After a few uses my forehead started to break out. I gave the product more time because I know that some products can cause break outs at first but the...

Chanel Roberstson Blvd. Polishes
2008-07-15 14:27:26
Chanel has finally released their Robertson polishes on their website. The colors have been all rage since the first information about them was released. Featuring a LA Sunrise - micro-shimmer bright yellow, Melrose - a bubblegum pink, Rodeo Drive - micro-shimmer medium toned lavender, and LA Sunset - a medium bright orange. I've already found a dupe for the two I wanted. For the Melrose Elizabeth Arden Grand Canal True Pink C and for Melrose Drive - OPI Do you lilac it? with CQ Silver Violet on...

Sally Hansen Flaminglo with Konad stamping
2008-07-11 12:14:33
I had a little nail fun yesterday. Using the Konad stamping system is much easier than putting on decals or nail stickers. I always end up ruining my mani with decals because of water getting trapped under the decal. For the stamper just remember to wait several minutes before applying your top coat. I forgot yesterday and as you can see I had some small smears. The Sally Hansen Flaminglo color I have on is part of one of their recent Limited Edition collection. You should still be able to find ...

Meanwhile, sugar beet extract and soy protein penetrate hair follicles to repair and strengthen hair, helping to shield against future damage. Review: Fake Bake Mousse Set
2008-07-10 21:29:51
I am writing this review only because I listed it and I took the time to test the product. I'll explain what happened. I purchased the product from Misikko.com. They have great customer service and I have no complaints at all about them. I should have taken them up on their offer to return the item. When my item arrived I didn't really check it. I was still waiting for the horrible mess of my previous test of a L'oreal self-tanner to remove itself from my skin. When I did finally get ready to ...

New template :)
2008-07-10 16:02:46
Update: 7:07pm PST I am finished days before I thought I would be. The heat here kept me inside and on the comp all day. I am not totally done though. As you can tell I don't have up all my sidebar info. Blogger is being a pain so I'll have to waiting until they fix their error issues. Hoping that they will have their act together by tomorrow. --------------------- I am really excited about this new template. It is a free template (by Jackbook.com)that I am adding a little few things too. I am...

Short Review: St. Ives ElementsOlive Scrub (for face)
2008-07-09 09:47:01
This test all started with two samples I pulled out of magazines. I made each sample last for two uses. I was hooked! I use extra virgin cold pressed olive oil to remove my makeup before using my regular cleanser. I was a little worried about breaking out but to my surprise I did not break out. This scrub has actually helped my skin. I have oily skin with some dry patches around the nose area. If I use this scrub once a day I don't have to fight the dry patches. It is not a harsh scrub so I ca...

Well...I am finally on Twitter
2008-07-02 00:50:32
I never really understood FaceBook or MySpace. It was too much work to always update. I am slowly getting the idea behind Twitter. Plus it is easier with all the widgets they have so I can do updates without visiting the site. It is hard to teach on old cat new tricks but if you dangle some yarn in front of me I'll play. :) So all those on Twitter let's chat! I'd love to get to know the readers of Casual Lavish. Follow me on Twitter and I'll follow you too! ...

Hair Tutorial for Beach Waves
2008-06-26 11:06:33
In a recent entry Beach Waves coming at you I talked about products and gave a text tutorial. I was in the mood for some light waves of my own so I took some pictures as I went along. Since I now I have shorter hair this was a bit of a challenge. I only wanted a very light wave. I found that keeping the twist in tack for a shorter amount of time gave me the wave I wanted. A longer time gave me tighter waves. If you would like to see my natural hair type check out the entry Review Update: FHI... ...

You can get the look with ease and a little hair twisting. There are plenty of products to help you get the look. Short Review: BodyMoose Squalane Skin Snack (beauty staple)
2008-06-23 14:28:35
I've been using this product for well over two years. Having oily skin I usually avoided using oils. After reading raves about olive oil I gave it try. It worked wonders and did not cause me any problems. I received a sample of squalene which is different from squalane oil. Squalene is animal derivative (from shark liver), where as squalane is extracted from an olive in a pure form. I use squalane skin snack oil for everything from dry areas on the face to help add moisture to my eye area. I....

Review Update: FHI Turbo Hair Dryer Nano wieght pro 1900
2008-06-21 21:37:30
Not long ago I wrote a review for the FHI Turbo Hair Dryer Nano wieght pro 1900, I thought I'd give an update on how the dryer is working for me. I have fallen head over heels for this dryer. As I have mentioned in the review I am at the point to where I like a very simple hair routine. Other hair dryers simply did not get me the results I wanted. This hair dryer has become a must use for me. I never thought that would be statement I'd make about a hair dryer. I'll admit the price is high... ...

Nail Polish Watercoloring technique
2008-06-17 10:36:11
As an active member of the nailboard on Makeupalley.com I find myself first up to elbows in polish and second always finding new creative ideas that can be done with nail polish. In the past I have blogged about nail polish marbling and frankening (mixing your own polish). Now there is a new technique out called watercoloring. It works by layering a sheer and dark color while they are both still wet. To help give you and idea of what it can look like and how to do it I created tutorial. Keep in....

Review: Schick Quattro for Women
2008-06-06 16:25:14
I wanted to go for an editorial type of picture but as it turns out getting a good angle is not that easy. I'd ask my husband but I am sure he already finds my need for picture taking of nail polish odd. Testing duration: 5 days in the shower, but still using it. The review tells more. :) Product claims: Modified for a women's curves, the Quattro for Women razor still has all the sophisticated features of a man's razor - adding up to one seriously serious shave. Duo Conditioning......

Review: Smashbox brush #19
2008-06-05 16:20:23
As a long time mineral foundation user I have tried my share of brushes. Many have failed me fast while a few others held on for a couple of months. Only one has stood the test of time (1 year so far). This little baby has not let me down. I can get light coverage or heavy coverage with no problem. This little brush I guard above all. I could live with out all my other brushes. I've had problems in the past with brushes falling apart or even matting up on me. One year of use and it still looks.....

Review: Matrix Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk
2008-06-05 16:20:04
The claims: Hold Soft Hold Benefits • Lightweight mist adds glossy shine • Smoothes & banishes frizz • Controls flyaways Botanicals Botanical milks of Rice, Bamboo & Milk Thistle Average price $18.99 USD I'll start with the good things first. This is lightweight and it does add shine. It does smooth out the hair. All that said (or typed) I am not a fan of this product. Upon grabbing this product I didn't look at the ingredients until I got home. I was disappointed to see.....

Review: FHI Turbo Hair Dryer Nano wieght pro 1900
2008-06-05 16:19:40
I got this beauty from Misikko.com. Right now they have it on sale for a great price. It comes in black or pink. I did a little test run comparing this to my current Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic. FHI won with a major TKO in the first round. The FHI dryer is so light it feels as if I am holding a hair brush. It only weighs 12.65 oz. The dryer dries my hair quickly and with such ease and that it cut my drying time in half. The dryer has great features such as such as a heat turbo boost and.....
