Gears of War Chainsawing its way to PC!
2007-07-07 08:16:59
It’s one of the industry’s most poorly concealed secrets, and now a leaked video has confirmed what every half-clued-up gamer suspected all along: Epic Games is developing a PC port of Xbox 360 mega-hit Gears of War. I guess it’s about time for me to actually consider playing GoW! I just hope this port doesn’t end up being a Vista exclusive.

Battlestar Galactica: Who Is the Final Cylon?
2007-06-29 02:41:22
With the two hour special Razor only a little over five months away, followed by the final season of Battlestar Galactica - it’s time to start thinking about the identity of our fifth and final “final five” cylon. It’s been discovered that this could turn out to be just about anyone, with many theories speculating that it is a female. The timely “return” of Starbuck did nothing but raise even more questions about which of our nearest and dearest characters may indeed be revealed as a cylon.
Note: There is a poll within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.
What are you guys thinking? Feel free to cast your vote and post a followup on why you voted the way you did. There’s a lot of crazy theories out there, let’s hear some more!...

LucasArts’ Talks Wii Lightsaber Game!
2007-06-29 00:14:49
Might need to start saving up for that Nintendo Wii:
The president of LucasArts and senior VP at Lucasfilm has expressed delight at the thought of a Wii lightsaber game by stating “we’re all over that”. He claims that they have already played such a game on the Wii and it’s a lot of fun. He also added that the concept was in place and there’ll be more information out this fall.

Kite Flying in Boston
2007-06-28 03:50:16
This has got to be the coolest thing I’ve stumbled upon today:
These are pictures I took by hanging cameras from kites, a hobby I’ve played with on and off over the years. To get the camera to take pictures, I built a 555 timer circuit that, every 13 seconds, throws a relay wired to the camera’s shutter button. I used a small delta kite and a cheap $30 digital camera with a large SD card.

Mac Games and More!
2007-06-28 03:43:27
I stumbled upon this little gem of the internet late last night while trying to find some games for my mac. Mac Games and More has the best selection of free mac games, as well as the best collection of addictive flash games on the web. As many of my fellow mac owners will attest to, decent mac games are hard to come by, but these guys have cataloged the best freebies out there. I was able to play some of my favorite card games, and discovered new games such as Lux (a game very similar to my favorite board game, Risk), and an addictive flash game called Arrow Golf. I’ll admit it, I spent well over an hour and managed to score a -33. Good luck trying to beat that!
They also offer game reviews, as well as links to all the latest mac software and hardware. For our iPod owners, be sure to pick up an iPod case if you haven’t already. It’s truly the best way to avoid collecting any scratches on your pricy little investment! Be sure to check them out often as they offer an always changi...

The Day Sci-Fi Grew Up
2007-06-27 09:52:49
Until recently, science fiction and fantasy were things you only went to see at the cinema - unless you were a teenage boy. Now, with the success of Battlestar Galactica, Lost and Heroes, the major networks can’t get enough of the stuff. Gareth McLean asks: how did sci-fi become so popular, so credible - and even so political? Give this article a read, I found it quite interesting!

Family Guy does Star Wars!
2007-06-24 00:16:02
Variety is reporting that the season premiere of Family Guy will indeed be an hour long episode retelling Star Wars Episode IV, A New Hope, using characters from the hit show!
Family patriarch Peter Griffin will play the role of Han Solo, while mom Lois will appear as Princess Leia. Evil baby Stewie will be Darth Vader, natch.
Brian the family dog will serve as Chewbacca, while son Chris is Luke. Robots R2-D2 and C-3PO will be handled by Cleveland and Quagmire, respectively, while creepy old guy Herbert plays Obi-Wan Kenobi.
This will not be the first time Family Guy has referenced Star Wars. Here are a few clips from past episodes:
Should be quite the event when Season 5 kicks off in November!

Top 10 Reasons People Make Top 10 Lists
2007-06-23 08:34:23
I can’t help but notice the abundance of “Top Ten” lists on the internet. Some are entertaining, others informational. This list that I am about to bestow upon you is neither, and falls under that category that 96% of other “Top Ten” lists do – utterly useless. Without further ado I present the anatomy of a “Top Ten List.”
You have something to say, but simply cannot find another way to express yourself other than distributing your thoughts into ten separate main points!
If you fill up the early slots with filler, readers would hardly remember them after they’ve finished reading, right?
That balding gentleman on CBS has been doing it for years, brilliant!
“Ten” rhymes with “pen!” Something I probably should have used in deciding if I honestly had anything “list worthy” to get across.
Nobody will read your “Top Five” list if you post a Myspace bulletin about it, will they? Better keep at it, oh master o...

Voltron Live Action Movie in the Works!
2007-06-23 01:53:18
In 2005 there was some buzz surrounding the possibility of a Voltron live action movie from Paramount Pictures. With Transformers just around the corner, it’s almost time to start geeking out over the next blockbuster to feature some hot robot on robot violence.
Writer Justin Marks has just recently finished his latest version of the Voltron script which seems to be getting quite a bit of attention. This is almost guaranteed to take off due to the inevitable success of Transformers hitting theaters next month.
One review of Justin Marks’ latest script rewrite was described as follows:
“The script has the tone, edge and dark elements of GOLION. Mark Gordon is going to have a bidding war on his hands with Voltron after TRANSFORMERS opens.”
GOLION was the primary source of inspiration for Voltron when it was created for an American audience. It was much more violent and not intended for the younger audience which Voltron was intended for. A Voltron that kicks even ...

Michael Keaton. Christian Bale. Val Kilmer. George Clooney. Even, yes, Adam West (he did a Batman film during the TV show’s run). All of them have donned the bat-ears, the billowy cape, and the pointy gloves for one movie or another, to varying levels of success. Some became fan favorites; others, The Batmen We Do Not Speak Of.
