Princess Trophy Wife
One woman's meandering thoughts on the current status of her life (general and love), travels, experiences and any people or things she encounters along the way. There are photos, there are jokes; there are plenty of insults and possibly some insightful comments as well. Who knows what'll happen on this thing? Let the journey begin!

I've Had Enough!Okay, this right here is ridonk! I was reading YBF today and came across a post about how Kim "Skank for Hire" Kardashian is the new face of a pair of some random clothing line and posted some pictures.Do you see that? That second picture is so obviously airbrushed it's ridiculous. That space where her hand USED to be resting on her waist is now conveniently filled with air. Listen, I won't lie, I watched the preview for the Kim K./Ray-J sex tape (not worth the time, I assure you) and it basically consisted of shots of her, walking and posing in a bikini. So I've seen her body and yeah, it's good. She should be proud. THIS, however, is NOT her body. And since I've just wasted a post on this idiot, I just want to go ahead and put it out there that I think she really needs to...

It Happened as I FearedOkay, so previously I posted about how there was this guy in my office building who I thought was cute, but I wasn't really interested in actually forming any sort of a relationship with him, and he seemed a little overeager once we actually met but then his company moved to a building next door so I figured I was home free except that I still saw his car in our parking lot and I was afraid that I'd run into him again. Remember? All caught up now? Well...it happened.Yesterday, as I turned the corner I saw his car pulling into our parking lot ahead of me. For a moment I panicked and considered driving around the block so as to avoid him, but I thought that was the cowardly way out and a bit of an overreaction. So instead, as he parked his car, I pulled into the lot an...

Time for Some Pop CultureAfter my previous post, I thought "what this blog really needs is some celebrity fluff." Something to lighten the mood a little. And then I found this photo on People. HAH! I love the expression. Mo'Nique's face is all "get this crazy bitch off of me!"...

In All That's Wrong, Some Things are Turning Out RightI think it's safe to say that this world is going to pot. Countries are fighting wars, poverty abounds, there's still no cure for cancer, AIDS, even the freakin' flu. And this being a typical hump day, I didn't get out of the house on time, got to work late and had nothing to wear. So my work week hasn't gotten off to the greatest start and it's proceeding per usual. Plus the Pats lost on Sunday and I'm still depressed about that. (WTF?! I mean, we had the game for 58 minutes. In the last minute, one of the worst defenses in the league finally steps up and makes a play? Christ! Where's the justice?!)That's why I was so pleasantly surprised this morning to come across the following two articles. The first article is regarding AirTran's d...

Maybe I Shouldn't Admit This But I think John Cena is really cute. Ridiculous, I know. The man is a "wrestler," shaves his armpits, and according to Wikipedia, is an aspiring rapper as well. Good God. And yet...how can you can think someone with a body and face like his isn't cute? Don't judge me....

And So It BeginsWelcome to 2007. Thus far into the year I have accomplished the following:1) I managed to get through three days of my internship without doing--no joke--a lick of work. 2) I have somehow managed to lose about $100 in my checking account. How? I have no idea. I regularly balance my checkbook, I don't carry cash, and yet the balance on the website and the balance in my check register don't match. 3) I've moved! I've rented a room in a single family home already occupied by 4 other women. Moving in consisted of me going over with boxes and my parents freaking out over the room's cleanliness (it was fine, they're just freaks) so they spent the next few hours vacuuming the carpet and repainting the walls. 4) I've joined a gym and, in the three days which I've been a membe...

I Just Want a Jim to My Pam!At my internship I sit in what would be the receptionist chair, if there were one. I hate this for various reasons, including (a) I hate having to play receptionist, (b) there's no one else seated around me so it's pretty lonely, (c) everyone can see my computer screen, thus limiting my surfing time, and (d) I have a direct line of sight to the men's room across the hall. Seeing every man as he goes in and out of the restroom has led to entirely too much knowledge of their bowel and bladder workings and leads to much awkward brief eye contact. As I've watching the comings and goings (hah, get it? Goings? I'm so punny! HAH! I did it again!), I noticed a man I took to calling the Office Cutie. I knew he worked somewhere...

UpdateOkay, so I haven't posted in a while, and I had every intention of deleting this blog (one of these days), but a friend has said I should post some more, so I'll probably crank out one or two more posts before I lose interest again. But before that time arrives, it's been a while since I posted and I thought I'd bring you all up to date on my life. In the past four months I have:1. Found myself an internship in sports marketing, thus taking that baby step towards getting myself a full-time job in that field.2. Moved back home.3. Found a place so I can move out again! (Yay! Out I go come January!)And a few more things here and there, but as far as I'm concerned those are the best things....

Am I Crazy?I just got the J.Crew catalog last night; I hadn't shopped there in years since I thought their clothes were getting uglier (embroidered lobsters on your pants? Gross. And if you thought they were cute you should be shot. SHOT!) and it's all overpriced anyways. But then I had to get some work pants back in September, so I stopped by and found a cute pair. And then I was flipping through the aforementioned catalog and I saw this:Am I crazy for thinking that this is a really cute jacket? There's something about it...I think it's the ruffles. And I might even like that little 80's-librarian-neck-ribbon thing it has. Or I might cut it off. I haven't decided yet. But I'm leaning towards putting this little puppy on my...

CONGRATULATIONS!Britney Spears has finally come to her senses and filed for a divorce from Kevin "Money Grubbing White Trash" Federline. Way to go, girl! Way to finally exhibit some sense. And since we all know that your mom had the foresight to force you to sign a pre-nup before you were married, you should be able to escape that little debacle you call a marriage fairly unscathed. Granted, it took her two years and two kids, but she's finally wising up! Good for her! Now if only he'll fade into obscurity like Jennifer Lopez's second husband, Cris Clubfoot or whatever his name was, did......

My Newest Object of LustFrom time to time -- hah, who am I kidding? Pretty much every other day -- I spot something that I lust after so much that I would happily kill a grandmother to obtain said object. My newest obsession: Bvlgari sunglasses. FABulous! So if you know a grandma who owns these...well, my email is on the side of the page....

My Political Soapbox RantI've taken a second job doing data entry because I'm truly horrible with money and I love love love spending it so I need to make some more of it. I've only been there for about two weeks now, and I can't stand it because it's a sweatshop, but it's given me a lot of insights into human behavior and the evil of politics.I'm not sure if the company (whose name I can never remember because it's just a bunch of initials and I'm not sure it actually stands for anything) is actually owned by the RNC, but since I've started all the data that's been entered has been campaign donations. Various Republican party members, and sometimes the party itself, have sent out these massive mailings to people acr...

2006-10-27 01:31:00
Tequilia?Pardon my absence, but I've been locked in the sweatshop of my second job and haven't had a moment to myself; when I manage to get out of traffic and make it into my house all I want to do is eat some Reese's mini peanut butter cups and either zone out in front of the TV or collapse in my bed.Speaking of TV, Monday's Bachelor was a funny episode. Why the hell did Desiree keep calling Tequila "tequilia?" Idiot. And it didn't help her either; she got axed! My girl Sadie's made it through one more round, which I'm happy to see, but so did Evil Lisa and I'm not pleased about that. Why are men so blind? That's my question. Why are men so blind and actually fall for the shit we put out there? All women can see through one another's acts immediately and yet they don't have a clue. But mo...

And the Asshat Wins ItI can't believe Jeffrey won Project Runway last night. What bullshit! I don't give a crap about "innovative" designs inspired by "Japanese ghost stories." I want clothes that are flattering and beautiful, not deconstructed and make a statement. I'm so pissed.I'd wanted Michael to win, but I have to admit, I wasn't that impressed with his designs. Entirely too many hot pants. But he's young and talented and popular. I'm sure he'll be successful.I liked Laura's designs the best. Her final dress was GORGEOUS and I wish I could find something similar....

InspirationI've been savoring my last day as a (kind of) lady of leisure before I start my second job tomorrow by lounging around and watching Thoroughly Modern Millie, a 70's spoof of the 1920's with Julie Andrews. I love this movie! It's got great costumes and it hilarious. But the best part? Millie is determined to marry her boss and live happily ever after. That's exactly what I should be doing! I need to get a job somewhere, have a rich handsome boss and marry him. Obviously you can't just find these guys at the bar. So thank you, Millie, for pointing me in the right direction!...

Pop Culture Round-UpIt's moments like these that make me thank God I was born an American with its national right to reality TV. Sunday night saw the season finale of Flavor of Love and then Monday was another episode of The Bachelor. It was like a one-two punch of "reality" TV goodness!Let's start with Flavor of Love: Enough has really already been said about it that I don't need to go into detail (plus I'm a little behind because, to be perfectly honest, I can't stay up that late to watch TV and still get up and go to work the next morning so I actually watched the final episode on Monday afternoon) but I just want to put it out there -- I'm glad Deelishis won. I don't think anyone will disagree with me. New York is a ...

Only One Episode Left!I'm sad to say, next Wednesday will be the last episode of Project Runway. I'm rooting for Michael! And speaking of Michael, did someone get a new tattoo on their neck?? I couldn't really see what it said, but I don't remember seeing it before. And Laura's apparently married to some really crazy old dude who I would have thought was gay had I seen him on the street with his leather mini backpack and oxford shirt unbuttoned low enough to allow his grey chest hair to spring forth. That said, they are obviously loaded because their apartment is huge and her engagement ring is ginormous! Seriously. I don't really even like emerald cuts but I envy her that ring. P.S. I bet Jeffrey DID get outside help! Stupid man with no chin and a dumb neck tattoo.P.P.S. I'm still...

When You Really Wanna SnarkOkay, so I am totally empathetic to Anna Nicole Smith's situation. It's so sad that her son passed away and she has my deepest sympathies. Seriously. That said, I find this whole situation with her baby daddy -- whoever it actually is -- to be hilarious. At any other time I would speculate as to what kind of crazy-ass weirdo actually wants to lay claim to fathering her child. I'd also mention how unsurprised I am that Howard "K." Stern has claimed he's the daddy and managed to get Anna Nicole to participate in a commitment ceremony (it wasn't a wedding ceremony -- it wasn't legally binding) because, as anyone who ever saw her show knows, that man was obviously jonesing for her hard-core. Why else would he be with her constantly? He...

To Try or Not to TryWhy I don't want a second part time job:1) I wouldn't be able to be home by 12:30 every day.2) I wouldn't be able to do whatever I feel like with my afternoons, i.e. pretend I'm a lady of leisure. Why I should get a second part time job:1) I have no money....

2006-10-10 20:25:00
C'mon Sadie!I'm not ashamed to admit it: I freakin' LOVE The Bachelor! There's something so pop culture-ly delicious about watching a group of women who are old enough to know better compete for air time and the attention of some random guy. I love seeing them make total asses out of themselves. And they deserve every snarky, hateful comment that comes out of my mouth when I watch that show because a) They're willingly themselves in the situation and therefore deserving mocking merely because of that, b) They all obviously have daddy issues and if there's one thing that the American Psychological Association has taught us, it's that mocking girls who throw themselves into demeaning situations in the desperate attemp...

Bitter is My New FavoriteI just read Bitter is the New Black by Jen Lancaster (shut up, I know I'm behind.). I highly recommend it. It has some hysterical scenes and it's well written so you really feel for the author (it's a memoir about her life after she was laid off).Read it. Love it. Visit her website....

Up to My Old Tricks AgainAaaaand...I'm back! It's been entirely too long since I updated this blog, I know, and I'm quite sure that my already limited readership has dwindled to approximately nil by now, but I thought it was time to start posting again.I'm back in the States now, and have an entirely new job. All the changes in my life, plus a few which are looming on the horizon, are making me think I will change URL and title of this blog. Because, to be perfectly honest, while I still yearn for the life of a lady of leisure, I simply don't have the time nor the inclination nor the energy to hunt down and capture a rich husband, thus ensuring my future as a trophy wife. So I'm open to suggestions for new names. Get creative, get insulting, but don't get vulgar. This here is a classy blog...
