Plaxico Burress plans to play in the NFL again, but first the former New York Giants star wants to spend time with his family, including a daughter who was born during the two years he spent in jail on a gun charge."I just want to thank God for bringing me through one of the most trying times in my life," Burress said to reporters after being released from Oneida Correctional Facility in central New York on Monday morning. Microsoft has shown off early releases of the next version of Windows.Demonstrations of Windows 8 running on tablets, phones and desktop computers were given at separate conferences in the US and Taiwan.As expected, the software can be used via either traditional keyboard and mouse or by gestures on a gadget's touchscreen.No date has been given for the release of Windows 8 but it is expected to be available before October 2012.The start screen for Windows 8 seen at the demonstrations closely resembles the tiled layout seen on Microsoft's newest mobile operating system. A volcanic eruption in Iceland, underneath Europe’s largest glacier, forced international flights to divert south of the north Atlantic island as an ash plume rose to 50,000 feet (15,240 meters).“A no-fly zone which covers a 120 nautical mile radius around the eruption has been put in place,” Hjordis Gudmundsdottir, spokeswoman for Isavia Ltd., told Icelandic broadcaster RUV late yesterday. “The eruption might have some impact on international air traffic.” Isavia operates air traffic control for Iceland’s airspace.The eruption begun at about 6 p.m. yesterday in a crater underneath Vatnajokull Glacier, about 90 miles (145 kilometers) southeast of Iceland’s capital of Reykjavik.
