A Hiatus...sort of...
2008-04-14 16:05:00
There has not been much going on with the band lately as our lives outside of "the music" become increasingly hectic. Martin will be recoup'ing from surgery for the next several weeks and my wife will be in Calgary getting a bone marrow transplant and is likely to be there until August. We are hoping to squeeze in the odd jam or recording between now and then but will likely be off the grid...

Annual Christmas Song
2007-12-23 00:37:00
Our annual Christmas song is now available for download...better late than never. This year we decided to record "Do You Hear What I Hear"....the mix that is online is unfortuately not the final product, but I simply ran out of time...the downside of a Christmas song...if you don't get it out before Christmas then you might as well wait until next year. So there you go...download often.

2007-11-10 11:04:00
Hooray for Martin our beloved drummer who is getting married next Saturday (Nov 17).
The bachelor party is tonight (but because he's soooo old, it should finish around 8:30! haha).

New Player
2007-08-28 14:06:00
We have a new audio player on the site, hosted by Soundclick...it seems to be much more efficient than our previous audio stream...plus you can now listen to all the songs that we currently have hosted on Soundclick...a variety of songs from the last 7 of our 12 years playing together......

Elixir Online
2007-08-23 02:48:00
Our latest recording, "Elixir" has been uploaded to our MySpace and Soundclick pages...listen often.
This is only the first mix of the song....It plays fine in most players, except the widely used Windows Media Player (of course!)...where it doesn't sound so good....when the problem is fixed, I will upload a new version. The embedded players on MySpace and Soundclick work alright, but if you...

Some New Music and More On The Way...
2007-08-05 17:23:00
I finally uploaded Pete's song (I've Tried) to our Myspace and Soundclick pages...we recorded it a little over a month ago. You can download it and a new mix of Ipsissima Verba on those sites.
We recently finished recording a new song, "Elixer" which should be online in the next week or so....

2007-07-11 21:23:00
There has not been much posted here lateley...been a quiet time for band stuff. We played a big gig in Nampa about a month ago...since then we did a little recording. Other than that we've been busy with life stuff...marriages, vacations, finishing report cards, etc.
The new song will be posted shortly, along with a remixed version of Ipsissima Verba. This version is better, but I still...

Band Hap-nins'...Uh, April In Review.
2007-05-01 08:51:00
We've actually done quite a bit over the last month...besides Easter Break we've recorded a new song (Destinies Collide) which should be online in the next week or two (providing I have time to mix it). We've also written a few new songs that we are pretty excited about. Dave wrote 2 and Peter 1. I guess it's my turn to get it together and write something new.
All the guys in the band had the...

I'm... Bat...man!! (<--read it with a deep voice like Christian Bale and it sounds more impressive)
2007-03-30 14:23:00
I came across this little quiz and was amazed at how accurately I was profiled. 8-)
You scored as Batman, the Dark Knight. As the Dark
Knight of Gotham, Batman is a vigilante who deals out his
own brand of justice to the criminals and corrupt of the city.
He follows his own code and is often misunderstood. He
has few friends or allies, but finds comfort in his cause.

Rock 97.7 Orbiting Too Far From "The Sun"...
2007-03-21 11:21:00
A couple months ago, one of our local radio stations, Sun FM changed their format, and their name (Rock 97.7)...they now have the slogan "Today's Best Rock and Killer Classics". Don't much like the change, I must say.
What the change essentially means is that they play alot of old garbagemixed with some mediocre new material. There are way too many of their "killer classics" being played, most...

On Getting Old...
2007-03-12 09:44:00
The older I grow, the more I distrust the familiar doctrine that age brings wisdom.

Another New Mix Of Ipsissima Verba
2007-03-12 09:09:00
The new song we posted a couple weeks ago, "Ipsissima Verba (These Very Words...)" has been touched up again and re-uploaded to our myspace site. This song has been re-tweaked a few times as of late, so this might not be the last incarnation to hit the web....

Show on Friday
2007-03-07 08:54:00
We are playing a couple sets on Friday night at Urban Ground...the coffeehouse that runs every Friday at the olg Gaiety Theatre in GP. The night starts around 9pm and I think our first set starts at 9:30.
It will be a good chance for us to try out some of our new (and largely unpracticed...yikes!) songs....

New Song Online
2007-02-25 18:16:00
We finished recording a new song this week, Ipsissima Verba (Latin for "These Very Words")...an upbeat, fun song that was actually born out of a rather painful experience. While the tune is happy the lyrics are rather dark...the song is an enigma 8-)
The point of it is that people can really suck sometimes....or at least the way they like to let their feelings and opinions known does.
It is...

RULES FOR ENTERING ALBERTA:
2007-02-22 07:45:00
This email crossed by me today and I found it very amusing...
1. Pull your droopy pants up. You look like an idiot.
2. Let's get this straight, it's called a gravel road. I drive a pickup truck because I need to. No matter how slow you drive, you're going to get dust on your Lexus. Drive it or get out of the way.
3. They are pigs, cattle and oil wells. That's what they smell like to you. They...

I found this over at elaughs http://elaughs.blogspot.com/2007/01/questions-for-thinking.html
- What is the speed of dark?
- Why are there Braille signs on drive-up ATM's?
- What is a "free" gift? Aren't all gifts free?
- After eating, do amphibians have to wait one hour before getting outof the water?
- If knees were backwards, what would chairs look like?

Notice of Changes
2007-01-04 06:47:00
I just finished the first major overhaul of the website in over 2 years...long overdue. First of all is a streamlined new look...no more flashy intro page. I used a CSS template which is a big leap into the modern age for me...no tables on this site!
I moved all the photos over to flickr...It is sooo much easier for me just to upload photos and have them in sets with slideshows than it was to...

New Home
2006-12-27 20:38:00
I decided to move the band's blog over here to Blogger because of all the spam that we have been hit with recently. It is starting to take too much time to moderate spam comments and there is a large amount of donated bandwidth being used up by it.
Having said that...you can still look at the posts from the old blog...some of which will be migrated over here....
