I want to be vanessa carlton! I've taken piano lessons for like all my life, have all her cds, and love her! She's so pure and original. I can't believe people say shes just a drunk, fat, untalented person who uses piano to drown out her singing! SO not true!
ok, how can i write a song? What should it be about? More importantly, how can i find a melody?
Whenever i write a poem/song/melody, it sounds like one of her songs or another artists song... please just blurt out a topic and a chord (i.e. A flat, B, and E flat or something) and a number 1-10 how many times i should play it.
Please give songwriting tips! Please also give songwriting websites!
My singing isn't horrible, and I am a great piano player and i have alot of creativity. But when i try something, it sounds too classical or pre-written or childish and i cant put words to it..... so

I wanna learn how to transcribe and write popular songs like With You, Low, Apologize, etc. into piano. I see a couple youtube videos of people who can do that in their head without writing the music so I want to learn how to do that. I can play perfectly and finished Level 10 for piano in the Certificate of Merit from MTAC. That test included a lot of theory work and things like that. I just need someone or something to teach me how to write music properly and what to put and where. I own the software Sibelius 5 but I don't have a Midi keyboard yet and am looking forward to buying one. To give you a sense of how good I play, Fantasie Impromptu and several waltzs by Chopin, played most of the etudes from Czerney, some sonatas from Beethoven and Mozart. I can analyze sonatas, fugues, identify and write almost any chord. Thanks for any help ahead of time.!

I'm obsessed with the drums, I'm very passionate about it. My favourite drummers are Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience), John Bonham, and most of all, KEITH MOON! Until I can get a drum set next summer, can someone please give me some tips on what I can do to practise until then, maybe some tips on co-ordination of my hands and feet, and what to do with things like that. All info is greatley appreciated! Also tips on how to emulate Keith Moon would be fantastic too. Thanks!!!

i heard a song (and watched the video on tv) but i forget the name. it was by a woman musician and the song was about realizing what she cared about or some thing. In the video she is in what looks like a town made out of paper or something (shes the only person) and she keeps getting bigger. In the end shes playing guitar on a tree and then she floats into the sky. Please tell me the name of the song. (sorry im vague)

I am entering a short film into different festivals. I contacted a person because I want to use her song in my film, she said no problem. I told her full music credit would go to her but I want to answer her question. She asked if its possible for judges or people at the festival to notice the music and be interested in her. I know its film and I want to tell her for sure, but I am sure any publicity is good publicity. Also her name would be out there so she may get noticed that way too. Anybody know for sure if its possible for musicians to get noticed at all at film festivals? Thank you.
