The Weekend
2010-03-07 10:14:22
This is how I spent my weekend. Thank my hubby for the flattering photo ;) We were supposed to have Trista's birthday party (she's 8!!) yesterday, but that didn't happen.  We bumped it to this Saturday. Is it o.k. if I feel bad for making Trista miss her birthday party. ...

If/Then Chart
2010-02-26 14:34:20
I know this is sooo unpc but in my house we absolutely don't allow tantrums. Making ugly faces, sticking out tongue, raising fists, stomping feet, throwing tantrums, walking away when Mom or Dad is talking automatically call for chastisement(they know exactly what that means). They learn pretty fast not to show any sort of rebellion or disrespect and we can all live happily ever after. Ok, there is still outburst every once and awhile. I got this idea for an If/Then chart(with appropriate scripture) from Raising Arrows. This way they know exactly what the punishment is if they misbehave. Of course they get plenty of praise when they do good too.Click to view our If/Then Chart I am sick of parenting methods that cater to the adult's laziness or comfort instead of what G...

2010-02-10 13:45:08
I haven't done much posting lately. Life happens. Even though I have the "Blogging Without Obligation" button I still feel like I'm very neglectful of my blog. Sorry :(What have I been up to, you ask? Ok, so maybe you didn't but I'm telling anyway. We have new pests...er, I mean pets. We have 2 cats, 1 large St. Bernard, and now 2 Oriental Fire-bellied Toads. They are soooo cute. I have been spending way to much time staring at them.He was trying to run away from meHis fire belly Pardon the poor picture quality, I still don't have a real camera.I have also been doing a LOT of cooking to stock up my freezer. Virgin Mary?
2009-12-22 14:24:29
"And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS." Matthew 1:25Jesus was Mary's "FIRSTBORN SON" and Joseph "knew her not TILL" Christ was born."Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?" Matthew 13:55,56The greek word for brethren is "adelphos". Which means brother. If this verse was referring to cousin than the greek word "anepsios" would have been used as it was used in Colossians 4:10 or sungenis as used in Luke 1:36.If Mary had taken a vow of virginity then (as John Calvin points out) by allowing Joseph to marry her she would have poured contempt upon the holy covenant of marria...
