Over react much?
2008-07-22 09:28:00
Robbie was suspended from school for today. Then tomorrow he has an in classroom detention, meaning he misses recesses. Why you ask, because him and a friend of his were caught with a picture. At first the kid told them that Robbie had printed it out and brought it to school. Then he admitted that he printed it out and brought it to school a week ago. Then gave it to Robbie. Robbie admits to...

Right Brain learning
2008-07-10 17:04:00
JazzLyn did something on Father's day that kind of freaked me out. Then had me doing a lot of researching and reading up on things. I know she's only at the end of Kindergarten, but I'm almost positive that she's a right brain. She's so smart, but she's been struggling this year. From things I've read, schools don't really worry until 2nd grade, but I think thats a little late. I've been...

The Starr Bar
2008-07-07 14:16:00
My sister sent me this. I'm trying to pass it on to everyone I know. As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Lupus and Scleroderma in March. The Starr Bar is made by Body Balms. 50% of every Starr Bar purchased will go to The Scleroderma Foundation....

A month apart
2008-06-29 18:46:00
The husband left today. I'm sadder than I thought I was going to be. I think a lot of that has to do with my mental state though. He'll be flying back on Thursday night so we can have our traditional 4th of July celebration and then flying back up on Sunday night. The girls aren't to happy with this either. They have asked me probably 50 times today when he will be back or what he is doing...

Speed Bumps
2008-06-27 17:06:00
Jazzy has 2 bug bites on her knee all the way home from school she kept talking about speed bumps and I finally asked her what they were, she told me they where on her knee, and she stopped pulled her pants up and showed me. They look like spider bites. JayLyn goes, those aren't speed bumps, those are bug bites Jazzy goes, noooooooo bug bites are small, these are the size of speed bumps...

103 and still feisty
2008-06-19 09:11:00
Today is my grandma's 103rd birthday. My dad's mom. I'm sad I can't be with her since she lives in Illinois and I'm in California. She is an amazing woman. She was 44 years old when my dad was born. That was extremely old back then (1949). She's out lived 6 of her 7 kids but she's never let that get her down. She fell a few years ago and broke her pelvis and then 2 years ago she fell...

Mommy the Superhero
2008-06-14 18:16:00
Apparently I'm some sort of superhero. I'm supposed to be able to make things happen just because my kids want it to. Jazzy's glasses broke last week. So I made an appointment with the eye doctor on Wed. Problem is our insurance doesn't pay for the 1 hour service so it will be at least a week before she gets them. This is a problem. A BIG PROBLEM. Imagine learning to read. Hard enough...

What kind of example are we setting for our kids?
2008-06-12 12:13:00
I've met many people in my life. Both online and offline. Good, bad, and even the occasional ugly. I've dealth with ignorance and just plain stupidity. I've seen what that does to my children. Example. We were at the beach on day and the girls had on these really cute 2 piece. The bottoms were the shorts and the top was a halter type top. Really very cute. Well not far from us was 2 women....

Week of sick kids
2008-06-09 16:45:00
An amazing turn of events, JayLyn has been my healthy one! I'm in shock. Last Sunday night (as in a week ago) Robbie came and showed me these little pimple looking things on his legs. Weird. At first it was just one, then 2, then he had 7 of them. Monday morning it was just the 7 so I had the school nurse look at him and she said because they don't itch and they didn't start under his arms...

Graduate
2008-06-01 09:57:00
The husband graduated yesterday. I cried, he cried, his mom cried. It was a great day. It also feels like a giant weight has been lifted off our family and we will get to see him that much more too! Its great. I'm so very proud of him, but only seeing him an hour a day (if that) was beginning to take its toll....

Hot Dog, Hot Dog
2008-05-30 19:09:00
Every time I call my sister, or my mom, my nephew, Choppy (nickname, relax), wants to sing me a song. Every time its the same song. The final song from Mickey Mouse Club House. For christmas I bought him the Mouse ears and it plays the song. My sister wants to bury it in the backyard, but Choppy has it wherever he goes. Ha ha ha, the joys of being an aunt. Here's the song.......

Teddy Bears and sweet little girls
2008-05-27 17:43:00
The night my step dad died, the paramedics gave each of the kids a teddy bear. Last night when I was putting the girls to bed I noticed that Jazzy's teddy bear had a hole in it. So I mentioned that I was going to have to fix it. She started crying and freaking out. Told me that I couldn't get rid of it because her Papa lived in it. After he died we (well the girls) got a fair with a vial...

Moving
2008-05-27 13:56:00
I hate packing. Especially since our plans have been changed drastically and I have about a month to pack. UGH! I thought about calling in professional packers, mainly because of how crappy I am feeling and how little energy I have. However I have so much I want to get rid of. Either donate or throw away. This means that I am stuck doing it all myself. Then there is the stress of having...

Its scary
2008-05-23 16:34:00
This is conversation I had with Jazzy when we got back from picking her and Jay up from school. Jazzy - can I pull your skin off? Me - why? Jazzy - because I want to put a lot of it in my hand Me - why? Jazzy - because I want to show it to Jay Me - why? Jazzy - because she thinks its gross Its scary how much she's like me. I can remember collecting the Cicada shells and chasing my sister with...

12 MILLION VOTES
2008-05-22 10:08:00
I have loved David Cook since he sang Eleanor Rigby. I also loved when Simon Swallowed his pride and actually apologized to him. I love Simon, but that made me love him even more....

14 years and 4 years
2008-05-22 00:03:00
14 years ago my life changed forever. I watched my dad take his last breath. Thats really hard for a 14 year old to do. Even worse when you think you killed him. My dad had lung cancer. He lived from Feb 93 when he was diagnosed to May 22, 1994. I can still remember that day like it was yesterday. The smells, the sounds. Waking up to my mom crying. Yes for the longest time I thought I...

love the new school
2008-05-21 13:29:00
Things have been hectic here the last couple of weeks. Plus I haven't been feeling the greatest and have days I have to drag myself out of bed in the mornings. Last Thursday, JayLyn had her echo. I think this is the first one I haven't been a nervous wreck before hand. Dr said everything looks awesome that everything is growing well. He said everything looks so good that she doesn't have to...

Mission San Juan Capistrano
2008-05-09 18:42:00
I went with Robbie's class on a field trip today. I would have enjoyed it much much more had I not had a bunch of little terrors. You'd think 4th graders would know how to behave themselves, but apparently this group wasn't taught that. Koi garden corridor this was the original church that was destroyed in 1812 earthquake well...

HOW TO DRIVE IN LOS ANGELES
2008-05-07 11:25:00
1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name: It is L. A. 2. The morning rush hour is from 5:00 a.m. to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 7:00 p.m. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning. 3 The minimum acceptable speed on most freeways is 85 mph. On the 105 or 110, your speed is expected to...

Insurance Companies
2008-05-06 09:47:00
I understand insurance companies wanting to cover their butts. However, I have a problem when they approve of something, and then when they get the bill, freak out and refuse to pay anything else. When my rheumatologist sent my blood to UCLA, his office called my insurance company before they even drew my blood to make sure my insurance company would pay for the tests since they weren't cheap....

Report Cards
2008-05-05 21:08:00
Kids brought home their report cards last week. Awesome! Robbie got all 4s (As) and Es (excellent). Jay got all 4s and Es. Jazzy got all 3s and mostly Es. Her 3s are up from 2s from last time. She's doing better now that she actually speaks to the teacher. We are having problems in a couple of areas, but over all she's improved alot....

Fundraisers galore.
2008-04-30 19:53:00
Back in November the kids' school had a jog-a-thon to raise money for the school. They raised over $17,000. I don't mind that type of fundraiser because all of the proceeds to go the school. Last Friday they brought home the cheesecake fundraiser. $13 for 6" cheesecake. Its outrageous not to mention the school only gets half of all thats made. I'd rather just hand the school the $13 and go...

Scary stuff
2008-04-30 19:49:00
After I got back from dropping the kids off at school on Monday I came home and went upstairs to do a few things and lay down. I heard something downstairs and thought it was one of the dogs so I went down to see if they needed out or what and there was a man standing in my living room. He sliced through the screen in one of the windows in the living room. I could tell him I scared him but he...

Sickies
2008-04-23 14:06:00
I knew Jazzy was getting sick when she went to bed at 4 pm yesterday. I couldn't get her to wake up and stay awake for anything. She slept until 7 AM today when she started throwing up. She's been asleep off and on all morning. I feel so bad that I can't do much to help her. She's also made sure that I need to scrub all the carpets upstairs and in the living room. I have a feeling this...

Getting my butt in gear
2008-04-20 22:47:00
I was asked to night if I was to look at myself naked, would I like what I see. My answer is no. There once was a time that I loved to admire myself in the mirror. Then life and health happened and changed all that. I don't have control over everything going on with my body, and exercising is going to be harder than before. However I need to stop making excuses and whining and start doing...

David Cook - woohoo!
2008-04-16 13:22:00
I'm not an Idol fan, but I absolutely love David Cook. Yesterday they were talking on the news here that his brother flew out here to watch his little brother perform on stage. That it was his dying wish to watch him perform in person. I thought that was so sweet and I think the song choice was fitting for the timing. I understand why they didn't explain why he was crying last night, but I'm...

Back to School!
2008-04-14 15:09:00
The kids went back to school today. WOOHOO!!!!! 3 weeks off was plenty this time. They were beginning to annoy me the last week. I know its bad to say that being their mother, but here's a run down of a normal day this last week. JayLyn wakes up at 5:30. Robbie and Jazzy anytime between 6 and 7. By 7:15 we've already had one argument over the bathroom. 8 AM kids go out to play for a while....

American Idol - Michael Johns
2008-04-11 10:54:00
I will be the first to admit that I'm not a huge huge Michael Johns fan, but I do think he's good. I also don't think he should have been eliminated. There are 2 that I can think that should have gone before now. I agree with Allison that David Archuleta may win this because he has the tween and teen girl mafia backing him....

WFMW - Hillbilly Housewife
2008-04-09 10:39:00
I absolutely love Hillbilly Housewife. I'm always looking for ways to save money, especially when it comes to my grocery bill. Coupons work great, but the stores around here won't accept printed coupons so that puts a big limit on how much I can save. I love her healthy section, but especially the Dieting On a Budget area. Don't wait, head on over and check her out! Also dont forget to head on...

Almost 6 and grown up
2008-04-07 17:20:00
I sit here watching the girls with their little petshops scattered all over the living room floor. They have them waiting in line for a Hannah Montana concert. Yes my 5 almost 6 year olds are totally obsessed with Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. They can't hear me when I call for them but they can hear when a song comes on the radio. We are talking they are upstairs in their room and I have...

Sad day
2008-04-07 11:58:00
My beloved Chinchilla, Gizmo, died last night. He was fine yesterday morning, had him out playing, and found him barely breathing at bottom of his cage around 6. I took him to the emergency animal hospital mainly to have him put down because I couldn't stand the thought of him suffering. I've had him for 11 years. He's the oldest of all my fur babies. He will be missed by everyone. The kids...

New Kids on the Block
2008-04-04 20:05:00
I was obsessed with them in 4th and 5th grade. I had their bedspread, curtains, walls were plastered with them. My obsession died out when I started 6th grade, but even so I would love to see them in concert again. I missed them on the Today show today but you can check it out here: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/23942736/...

Grand Canyon
2008-04-03 11:38:00
I was going to post a few of my pictures here but it would be much easier just to send you to my Viewbug account to see all the pictures I uploaded of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam....

We're home
2008-04-02 01:10:00
We are FINALLY home. Normally I'm so sad to leave seeing as how Las Vegas will always be home to me. First off we had reservations to stay at Circus Circus. We called before we left Tuesday to see if it would be a problem adding 2 days. We were told no problem at all. Yeah right. We got there and got an attitude right away because our reservations were for Thursday - Sunday. We told the woman we...

Lupus AND "CREST" Syndrome
2008-03-25 19:28:00
Well I just got back from the rheumatologist. On top of having Lupus, I also have CREST syndrome (limited scleroderma). I have to go back in 2 months and he will order a bunch of tests (echocardiogram, scope of my esophagus, all that good stuff) to see how everything is and then continue to monitor everything afterwards. I swear I'm a freaking mess!...

Las Vegas or Bust
2008-03-25 15:16:00
I have an appointment with my rheumatologist to get test results from UCLA. Then after that appointment we will be loading up the car and heading to Las Vegas. We weren't supposed to be leaving until Thursday morning, but we decided to leave a bit earlier. Gives a little extra time to visit with friends and take the kids around to do different things. I graduated high school in Vegas and...

Out the Window
2008-03-24 10:44:00
Well my plan for 30 days of posts went out the window this weekend. We went out to the desert with some friends and ended up staying out there this weekend. Supposed to be back Saturday night and we didn't get home until 8PM last night. I can't complain to much we had a blast. Between riding the Rhinos, the 4 wheelers, and the Jeeps, even the kids had a blast. Then we went to play paintball...

The new mohawk
2008-03-21 12:38:00
Yes my son has a mohawk. Before it was just the top, but he decided he wanted a full blown mohawk. Normally its not spiked for school, but since today is the last day until April 14th (year round school) the principal decided to make today crazy hair day. After we get back from Las Vegas we are going to make it all one length but he didn't want to cut to much off until then....
