One Summer afternoon
2008-07-14 19:49:00
Since daddy had to leave for work early this afternoon, Natalie and I took a different approach to the afternoon. We decided to go get a bite to eat and then went to feed the ducks in St. Joe.Here are the bachelor'sThe next thing we did was look at the sculptures along the river. Some of them are a little strange, but if you are artsy, you might like them. Did you loose your muffler?Natalie thinks this looks like a toothbrush, I think it looks like a pelican, what do you think?Natalie and I love to go to St. Joe, so much to do, and she has already asked me to take her to the Venetian Festival this weekend to see Mitchel Musso. I'll have to see about that, fighting crowds and heat is not my version of a good time. Natalie asked can we go to the beach tonight? Ok, let's go, just for a 1/2 ho...

Birthday Blues are done
2008-07-12 18:50:00
Well the birthday party was a smash, and I ended up getting him a Nerf gun that shoots big nerf type balls. I think I made a good choice, because after I thought about it, I realized he is more of a outdoors sports type kid. Not too many action figures for this little guy.Speaking of Little Dudes, we have a new member to our family. His name is little dude, and he belongs to the amphibian family, please welcome "Little Dude" Little Dude is a tree frog, that got swept into Grandma's House, so Natalie had to rescue him. I guess they eat crickets?? Will keep you posted on Little Dudes life. We may be setting him free soon. I don't know if I want to feed something live crickets everyday, pardon me but I'm more of a city girl.........

Birthday blues
2008-07-10 11:48:00
No, it's not my birthday yet, trust me I can wait for that! My nephew is turning 6 on Saturday and we are invited to his party. The problem I am having is what in the world do boys play with these days. I struggle with this every year, I have 3 nephews and what do boys like to do? I can handle the girl party's easily, hands down, blind folded and one hand tied behind my back. I spend so much time in Target trying to find a "toy" that will be in the latest craze. I ask my friends that have boys, and they are like oh, get him transformers, magnetix, this or that, and I probably looking at them like they are talking Greek to me. I think one year, in Target I found a boy in the toy section about the age I was looking for and had him pick out something. His M...

Need to Connect
2008-07-10 11:38:00
I finally talked Anthony into letting our "landline" go and just keep our cell phones. It will save us about $100 a month. After months of negotiating he finally tired and said alright(he has issues with 911, why in the world he would worry about that is beyond me lol). So I proudly called AT&T this morning to disconnect and order and all that stuff. OH NO!Good news is, we can have the high speed internet without a "phone line" but, they have to send a tech out and wire the box thing outside and the soonest available is next week. So I will be without internet until next week. So, I will have to go somewhere else to do my blogging and checking in on my peeps. I guess it will worth it all when the bill comes and its only $39 instead of a $139.Countdown...

My Space
2008-07-08 19:15:00
I have had several people tell me that they have "my spaces." I am trying to figure out what the crazyness is about having a my space account. I went to the website, and in order to look around at any people, you have to become a member. So my question is, do you sign up for a my space to "spy" on all your "friends", and the friends I mean are your co-workers, your neighbors, your classmates, etc., or do you sign up to do the social networking. I have to admit, I do belong to a few of the "social network" websites, but in the past, I chose the more family friendly sites. So yes, I joined my space in order to "spy" on my friends! I'm not quite sure how much time I will put into developing "my space." I'm still skeptical about it. Anyone have advice on this s...

Oh Golly
2008-07-06 20:02:00
Natalie had her next lesson on Friday, and had so much fun riding and learning with her new friend Golly. Natalie actually rode her all by herself, the trainer unsnapped the lead rope from Golly and said you can ride her anywhere you want(in the arena).Horses lend us the wings we lack. ~Author Unknown We love you Gol!...

Our 4th
2008-07-06 19:46:00
Well the weekend is almost over. It's been a long, but fun one. We watched fireworks in Baroda on Thursday, I think that was one of the best shows in a long time. Then on Friday, we went to a cookout at Grandma's house. Natalie got to see her cousins and play for a while, which is always a plus for an only child. We cooked hot dogs/hamburgers and ate the famous chocolate cupcakes. Unfortunately, this year there was no 4th of July parade. Later that evening, we sat in Uncle Patrick's driveway and watched the St. Joseph fireworks, which are always awesome.Yesturday, Nat & I went to see Wall-E, because Daddy got called into work. No sober medics could be found, so duty called for daddy. Wall-E was really cute, we enjoyed watching it. Then we went to other Grandma's house for more burgers/...

My Hair
2008-07-03 19:23:00
Early this year, I decided to cut my hair into the famous bob that everyone is wearing. I've likedthis style so much, that every time I go back for a "trim" it's more like a little more shorter. So recently at Natalie's swim meet, I saw a lady with more of the "posh" bob look. I really like the way she styled it and it looked really good on her. So, I called and made an appointment for my usual 6 week "trim". Here's my before look: Here's my trim: of, course no fresh makeup, so you will have to bear with it. I think it turned out fantastic!...

Congrats to Nat!
2008-06-28 20:44:00
Our girl took 3rd place(out of 5) at her first swim meet last night. She swam 2 heats, back stroke and free style and place 3rd each time. Natalie was so nervous she was in tears, but after the first heat, she was fine. We're so proud of you Nat, way to go!Our next meet is in 2 weeks, good luck baby!...

Manners
2008-06-23 18:28:00
Do people in these times forget their manners? I beginning to think so. Have you ever come across some that you know in the grocery store or in Target, and you either give a nod hello and wave, or you give a polite Hello, how are you and continue on your way?Well I recently "ran into" someone I know, and by running into I mean we literally almost ran into one another. I did my polite Hello, and she gave me a look like I was the plague, and then proceeded on her way as if this incident never occurred and I don't exist. So how did I handle it? As loudly as I could(without embarrassing Natalie) I said HELLO again. I think I got my point across!...

I'm Back!
2008-06-21 19:18:00
I made it back from vacation, and I am stuck home doing laundry. I think that is the worst thing about coming home, is all the laundry. We stayed in a little cottage on Ford Lake in Fountain, MI. That's about a 3 hour drive from where we live. Natalie did well on the ride up and back, I had plenty of snacks and I would like to thank Mr. Ninetendo, and Mrs. DVD player! The weather was a bit cooler this year, so unfortunately Natalie couldn't do a lot of swimming. But we did have some boat rides, I did catch a fish, and we all ate very very well!I usually only fish about 2-3 times a year, only because I really don't have the patience for it. But I got lucky, this time. I caught a pumpkinseed blue gill, on a pink bober! ohh, life is good. Start planning for next year....I'm working on getting...

I need a vacation!
2008-06-12 07:46:00
I did not realize that life would be busier once school let out. It seems like I don't have any time left at the end of the day to do anything, and I feel like I have neglected my blog. Maybe its because the weather is nicer and we've been spending more and more time outside. Natalie's garden is coming along nicely. Her tomatoes are coming along great! Natalie is starting to get back in the swim mode. But its really all about the horse riding right now. We have made several trips to the stable just to give carrots and apple treats to Duke & Golly. I'm still wondering if this is a phase or a real deal!Well since I've been neglecting the blog, I have been working on a website for Natalie and her new hobby. It's still under construction, but I think its coming along well. Click here to view.W...

List List List
2008-06-09 18:21:00
Since Anthony is done teaching his high school class for the summer, he gets to spend his whole summer with Natalie. What kind of trouble can they get themselves into???I'm struggling here because today was Anthony's first day on the job and Natalie called me 4 times at work today "I'm bored." So I've come up with the idea of making a "schedule" of things to do during the day for each day of the week, so Natalie knows exactly whats going on and hopefully avoid those phone calls. I got a little help from a website called chartjungle. They have printable calendars and charts to fill in. Wish me luck!ChartJungle.com...

What should I do?
2008-06-05 21:58:00
I am debating on enrolling in and EMT-B course to acquire a license. Now what is the problem. I'm not sure I like the idea of having to touch people. So here's my thoughts on this. I take the class, and decide if I can get over the "issue" of touching people, I will take the state test to get my license. But if the touching issue still exists, it'll be just knowledge up there in the noggin. Anthony thinks I'm nuts.............Takes one to know one!...

The new hobby
2008-05-31 18:04:00
Today was the day of Natalie's first lesson. She was so excited, she could hardly contain herself. On the first lesson, Natalie had to learn to groom a horse. Her horse today was "Miss Mandy." A 25 year old Mare, who was just a sweet heart. Natalie had to groom her hair, brush her mane & tail, and even clean her hooves. We learned today that having a horse and caring for one is very hard work. The highlight of our day was actually sticking our finger in the horses mouth! I learned alot today as well. It was a good time. Our next lesson is Tuesday, more to come!...

Fish Story
2008-05-26 19:42:00
We went fishing again this afternoon at the pond, to end the long weekend. Natalie has quite a fish story to tell. How do you catch 2 fish at the same time with one worm, one hook, and one fishing pole?Natalie casted out her pole, waiting for the bobber to drop, and then it did! Natalie started reeling in her blue gill, when all of a sudden, an explosion in the water! All kinds of crazy stuff was going on. Long story short, Natalie caught a blue gill in the mouth of a huge bass. I didn't have my camera there tonight, but it certainly was entertaining! Fortunately for the blue gill, during the fight to land the bass, the gill escaped the mouth of the bass and was flung off her line. It was his lucky day! How that happened, I'm...

Memorial Day
2008-05-26 19:33:00
Our Memorial Day was just the same as last year, we participated in the parade(riding in the fire truck) attended the veteran memorial service and then went to our local legion for bbq's. Natalie also felt that we needed to go to the beach this afternoon, the lake was very cold yet, however this starts off the summer season of my car full of sand, until fall!...

Something's Fishy
2008-05-26 13:12:00
We went fishing at my Grandma's pond the other night and Natalie caught her first bass of the season. She was screaming trying to land that darn fiesty fish! She also caught a 3 blue gills and a sunfish. After all the fishing she did she decided to just pose for some pictures....These boots were made for walking! And that's just what they'll do! ...

Photo Hunt (I'm so excited) Part 2
2008-05-24 15:21:00
This weeks theme for photo hunters is shoes, and after I thought about it, maybe it wasn't fair that I mention Natalie's new hobby or sport without giving a hint about what it might possibly be...... I probably gave it away now, for those who know what it is, shhh....Her first time is next Saturday, and there will be pictures...........

What have I been up to?
2008-05-24 14:52:00
I've had a pretty busy week, so I haven't had much time to do my usual blogging this week. Today we did alot of yard work. We mulched the back yard, Natalie planted her garden, and I planted some flowers. I thought I wasn't going to do flowers this year, they pretty much die on me by the time we get back from vacation in June. Natalie wanted some flowers, so I bought some. Besides, who knows if the garden will grow? It'll be fun to see what comes up and grows. Natalie planted sunflowers with the hopes that she can enter one in the county fair this year. I'll have to take pictures to document our success! Planting my "chocolate"pepper plant Do I have enough Merigolds? Tada! Watch Me Grow!...

I'm so excited
2008-05-20 15:42:00
Over the weekend, Natalie suggested taking on a new hobby, or sport if you will. I'm not going to say what it is yet, I want to see how it all works out first. Natalie is so excited about this new adventure that she can hardley contain herself. I had to make a few phone calls to some contacts of mine to find out where and how to do it. Thank you for the information, you know who you are. I will post more on this later, and I hope to have pictures too. We both can hardly wait! I'm sure after her first lesson, she will be hooked and I will be asking for advice!...

A new addiction...
2008-05-13 20:23:00
I know Starbucks has been around for awhile, but I never really thought about sitting and having a cup of coffee. I always thought, what is the big deal people, its just coffee. That was until I actually had one.At work, we have "coffee carts" brought in and they make all kinds of "special" coffee flavors, and I enjoy it when they come. It's like a special treat every once in a while. Now I discovered that Starbucks has those "coffees" everyday. Holy cow, what planet have I been living on. For all those people I thought were nuts for spending money on a cup of coffee, I apologize!...

Girl Scouts
2008-05-09 19:40:00
We are finally wrapping up the year for Girl Scouts. It's been a long year, and I think the girls are ready to be done. We've done quite a bit of try its this year, so we should be proud of our accomplishments. Sure there tears & laughs, but we made it.This was our first year of girl scouts. Another Mom and I were Co-leaders. We formed a brand new troop and had 7 girls. Will I do it again? Yes, but I can definitely say I've learned alot this year. Our last meeting we went to a local nature center and went through the nature trails. We saw many plants, including skunk cabbage, this weird grass we called snake grass, insect pods, and we even saw a small Gardner snake. That was a hit with the girls surprisingly. We also saw these"water skater" insect bug thi...

Dinner time fun
2008-05-06 20:24:00
I recently read a post from another blog about taking a jar and decorating it. Then filling the jar with questions to answer during dinner time. There were over 200 questions. I'm going to make our family a jar, and see what kind of answers come out of Natalie's mouth! Some examples are:If you had a parrot, what would you teach it to say? What is your favorite family activity? How would you stop war? Name a family project we can doWho has more power and influence, God or the President? What makes you special?Name someone you dislike. Share something good about that person. The questions seem to be for all ages. I can't wait to start my project. I will post it when I'm done! ...

Spring Cleaning
2008-05-02 19:36:00
As I sit here at my computer, mentally making my spring cleaning list. Where do I begin? They say you are suppose just do one room at a time and focus on that until you are done. My problem is I get distracted. When I'm cleaning the kitchen I will hear the dryer buzzer go off, go downstairs, fold laundry. I will then bring the towel upstairs and put away in the bathroom, and discover that the sink needs to be cleaned. After that is done, the cycle will start all over again. Back in the kitchen. I will find a toy in there and take it to Natalie's room.I think this is why spring cleaning is so hard to do! So I'm making my mental list and going to try to stay focused. No multi-tasking. Mom's are professionals at multi-tasking.I'm hoping the weather holds this...

Pancake Breakfast
2008-04-20 15:36:00
Today was the fireman's annual pancake breakfast. It was quite a busy morning. The fireman made pancakes, eggs, & sausage. We had about 300 people show up to eat breakfast. We ran out of sausage and eggs 3 times! They went to 2 different grocery stores and cleaned out their sausage supply, and after that was done, we had to go to McDonald's and buy more sausage and eggs. People really ate today.Meanwhile, the ladies of the Fireman, known as "The Fire Angels" sold raffle tickets for the cute little red fire engine pedal car. I think it was so cute!Natalie helped her daddy sell T-shirts/sweatshirts and also helped hand out fire helmets and coloring books to the kids. awwwh, so cute! The fireman recently ordered new he...

So I had Anthony run down and take the picture for me. This is not his helmet though! Tomorrow at the breakfast, I hope to get some neat pictures of the truck and the guys!...
