I admire people that voice out the truth and say it like it should be. I don't really like to cover up unless I have to. So it is refreshing for me to visit blogs that can entertain me. Honest and thought provoking blogs. Anyway, as for being a Filipina, I can very well understand why some of my fellow Filipinos voice out about how the Philippine families think. Last October we had fun trick or treating. We all had a nice Halloween costumes really. What I wore was one of the best looking Halloween Costume I was able to find and purchase. I want to wear it again this Halloween since we lost our pictures of last year. I like it since it makes me look like a spooky witch but, of course, sexy and stunning at the same time, with spider webs glittery print in it; it has a combination of black and green colors. It's hard for me to believe that I can find sweet potatoes and yams here in the U.S. that taste just like at home. I bought some red yams that are sweet as well as white Chinese yams that are purple inside; the flesh. I also bought a different one; a red sweet potato called Benito. They are all very good, and can be made into pies and cakes, and who knows for what else that I don't don't know about. I just don't know a lot at this time in terms of how to cook them differently other than baking in the microwave and/or boiling them. The Marimar soap opera is reminding me that people will do anything for money sometimes. It may be just in the movie or show, but in reality, it happens, too. As for such soap opera, I laugh and cry watching Marimar. It's a really a complex drama, I tell you. It also makes me laugh when I read some comments that are really aggressive and emotional. I may not be in the Philippines anymore, but every once in a while I feel like I am at home when I get to cook some of the food I am accustomed to like "Puto"-steamed rice cake. I follow a Philippine soap opera; Marimar, beause I am Filipina, but really more than that, I am simply interested. anyway, I like it, only it get so twisted. I think the writer made a mistake with twisting the story, what I mean is that, Rodrigo supposedly shot Marimar, and then, he was supposed to be alive when Angelika arrived, he even took the money, and then Angelika came over to Marimar's grave site, then saw her. How were Nicandro and Diego able to shot Rodrigo while Angelika was present...LOL. That was out wack for sure, when they showed how Marimar survived and how everything happened. The story didn't match what I saw. That means schooling for me. I have got to get a skill. So I will need to save some money. My husband can't help me otherwise I would have done it a long time ago. It is a good thing though that he is now retired because that makes it possible for me to go back to school someday, and that I have extra money no matter what, whether I have a job or not...LOL. 1. I love to eat: seafood-can't seem to live without any, I crave for those vegies in the sea if we call it vegie-hmmm....are they seaweed?2. I hate to eat: the same thing; food over and over, it's just funny that seafood doesn't seem to have that effect on me.3. I love to go: to different places for a vacation, because it is alyways exciting to see how other people live; their culture and food.4. I hate to go: anywhere without enough money to be able to buy anything-well, it sucks...LOL, so I don't often go window shopping and just drool...LOL.5.
