| “The Bourne Legacy” in a 45-day shoot in the Philippines; Film release set for Summer 2012 |

The hit franchise known for trotting around the globe, from France and Italy to India and Morocco, is adding a new location to its roster: the Philippines. Universal Pictures’ “The Bourne Legacy,” the fourth movie based on the Robert Ludlum novels, started filming in Manila, the country’s capital, two weeks ago.
Scheduled to be released in theaters Aug. 3, the latest installment in the spy series was written and is being directed by Tony Gilroy — who penned the first three films -– and will be the first without Matt Damon playing the title role. Bourne is not a character in the new movie. Jeremy Renner, instead, will portray an agent in the same line of business as Bourne, with Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton co-starring.
The production, which has a budget of more than $100 million, will spend about 45 days in the Philippines. Scenes have already been shot in New York and Alberta, Canada, since filming began last September.

Pastor Joe Nelms made headlines (sort of) recently when the media and YouTube caught on his most unusual pre-race prayer, said during the Nascar Nationwide Race in Nashville, TN on July 23rd.
As if his prayer wasn’t enough to cause giggles and a few laughs, Songify This made a song out of the prayer and it became even funnier. “Pastor Joe Nelms gives a moving pre-race prayer in the form of a country song all men, women, & children can dance to,” YouTube uploader schmoyoho says of the video parody they created.

Timing is everything for this Filipino street kid who sells flute in the streets of Clark, in the province of Pampanga, Philippines. On the side, he sings to his customers and allows them to video him while singing! He’s got pure, raw natural talent. In this video below, he is covering a number of hit songs including that of Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, and Ne-Yo.
The clip has been viewed over 100,000 times in the first 24 hours it was posted on August 3rd and is spreading virally on blogs, email and social media. Only three days later today, it has already garnered over 700,000 views and counting!
I say timing is everything because upon further research on YouTube, this kid has been around in the popular uploading site being filmed by others who were also clearly impressed by his singing voice. If you have told anyone 10 years ago that in the future, someone can be famous and reach millions and millions of people around the world in one week’s time, no one would believe you.
The ‘future’ of instant fame happened six years ago when three cool geeks from California invented YouTube in 2005. Since May 2010, YouTube exceeds 2 billion views a day. 2 billion. Since March 2010, there are 24 hours of video uploaded PER minute. I thought there should be more but over the years, there have only really been a few breakout artists who attribute their good fortune to YouTube: Arnel Pineda, Charice, Greyson Chance, Kina Grannis, Marie Digby, and Justin Beiber comes to mind.
