I can't remember how long I've begun blogging. There were blogs that stayed (this and the one in multiply) and there were blogs that simply had to go away (either I forgot the password or I simply choose to let them be gone. :hide: ). The bottom-line is I just simply love keeping a journal and what bonus I've got! My friend T awarded me the Great Blog Awards 2007 Inspiring Blog! Wehew! Thank you. =) ...

Business, that is.
2008-02-08 00:30:04
I don't know if I've mentioned it before but a friend and I are venturing into a business that leans a little to food services. =) The idea got us all so giddy that we're thinking of putting up a website. Wehew! Actually, we already have one but the site/network isn't that good enough in providing us all we need to make the business run smoothly online. So we're thinking of signing up a new site. And to get all that we need to get a business site going, we'll definitely try out the ecommerce software. I heard installation is not required. That'd be interesting. We really don't want to into the details on how the shopping cart software works. Hehe. Anyhow, I think it would be cool to have a site with a shopping cart. I think this makes it very conveni...

What do I know? It's only been a year. It's too early to tell we're doing great or bad. When I'd dwell on the former, I'd be fooling myself. But when I'd dwell on the latter, I'd be a scum....

More on Gold
2007-12-02 03:22:29
And since I was previously talking about (more than) shoes… “Shoes speak volumes about who you are. They represent your mood, your aspirations, even the way you conduct yourself,” -Meghan Cleary.Meet my beloved tod’s moccasins. She’s been quite handy these days. Hihi.Meet my infamous leather boxer’s shoes. I got it for a bargain at P700 something (original price was P 2000 something). I unfortunately lost her. I miss her and the mood she sets me in. =( Now you know what my life’s probably like… today and yesterday. :hide: Everyone, especially Tiris, Ai, Yen and Chel, tell me something about your shoes today or yesterday or anything about it. Is this a start of a “tag” already? Haha....

I Found Gold!
2007-12-02 03:17:19
I’ve always been a sucker for flats. Two days ago, I found a pair of gold strappy flats enticing. Let alone the price was not pricey at all. Trust me, when I say not pricey, it really is not for everyone. =P I tried it on and found it comfortable. But I have never been impulsive in shopping (and in love. Haha). And with my life so much different now, you can say its intensity had doubled. :hide: So I ignored them. The next day, I was at that place again. The gold sandals still caught my eyes. I asked the saleslady how long has the pair been there. She said it’s really been quite a while (I bet that’s why its price is lowered to half to get the pair off the stand. Hehe). Anyhoo, I bought the gold. Yet, honestly, I don’t know what I was feeling. Guilt...

At 8 months
2007-12-02 03:15:56
My daughter is now 8 months. Like every mother, I couldn’t help but reminisce how life had been when she was still in the womb. She was one heck of a kicker. She used to cause a stir on the “floor” in my previous work. Why, my officemates would often see my tummy move from one side to the other. Hehe. She brought flattery to me as well. Why, I was voted “The World’s Sexiest Mentor” when I had her at 7 months. Haha! Fast forward to a year later, she still is a kicker and a real handful at that! She’d crawl and climb on almost anything just so she could stand while holding onto something. I observed she’s also bossier now. She’d have this particular gesture to let her take you somewhere from where you both are. And if you don’t get it or if you’d try to ignore her wa...

I’m the most distracted person right now. And anyone who has more than one blog couldn't agree with me more. :hide: Would you believe I’m keeping 4 blogs, all in all? Toink. Yet this one is my favorite. This is where I can mix personal and work. What more can I ask for? I’ll be here. ;-)...

Being Grateful
2007-12-02 03:08:04
I’ve always loved writing. As far as I could remember, I started writing journals since I was in Grade 2. And then it continued on to writing letters and stories and all those things that teenagers would gladly take as “outlets”. :hide: And I’m glad. I’ll always be glad how this fate in writing took me. It took me past the pains of life if not ever so lightly but ever so gracefully. I will be forever in awe of papers and pens. And now, blogs. =)...

The Dream Girl in Me
2007-09-18 01:36:10
Reading about home improvements never bores me. Why, it contains very helpful tips and attractive pictures by which you can get ideas from. But since we are only renting the house we’re living in, all these tips may be considered useless as of the moment. It can be truly frustrating though especially if you feel the need or want to make changes in and around the house. In fact, right now, I’ve wanted to do something about our driveway. I know driveways are one of the most overlooked sections of the house. Also, I'd like to do something about our backyard. I may have never had a green thumb but I’d really like to try my hand at gardening. If I were to do what I want, I would plant different kinds of flowers and would even consider setting up conservatories. It doesn’t really mat...

Pia-pia-piano!
2007-09-17 15:18:28
I’ve always wanted to play the piano. Back in college, I used to visit a friend’s house so I could practice playing the piano. However, if you see me play the piano today, you'd know I wasn’t that successful. I couldn’t even finish a single song. :hide: Looking back, I realized maybe I made some mistake in trying to learn it myself. I really thought that I would learn by merely looking at the notes and the songbook. I think that to learn how to play a piano; you have to have more than curiosity. I realized all that when I hopped into Piano Chords Blog. It’s a blog that’s updated daily for discussions on piano chords and chord progressions. And you know what’s good about this blog? Well, it also talks about music theory. This is what makes ...

I’ve been really busy these past few days. Time has been very precious that I’d have to let out a sigh when nature calls or when I have to take a bath. I can’t even keep my eyes and hands off the computer. I feel like I’d die if I can’t check my mail. :hide: Then I realized I was no longer writing, work-wise and blog-wise. It’s good and bad at the same time. Ah. It doesn’t really matter for now. I’ve got this thing going and I would love to keep this thing going. It’s not that big but it is to me. Life is big and entwined lives are making it bigger. Wish me luck. Wish us luck. =)...

Learning? Love it!
2007-09-10 01:34:41
My cousin Kathy has two boys, aged 4 and 5. The last time we talked on the phone, she gushed about her boys’ interest to learn brand new ideas. However, you know how boys at their age are. They easily get bored and frustrated. Consequently, the boys end up not learning enough or not learning anything at all. This gets Kathy a little frustrated. Somehow, she feels she’s not giving enough to her sons’ education. This feeling didn’t last long though. Two weeks ago, she has found an end to her somewhat self-inflicted misery. ;-) Thanks to Innovative Tutor in Score! Educational Centers. With tutoring programs designed for children 4 to 14 years old, her boys will love learning while really learning. Actually, it’s ...

Who doesn’t worry about expensive phone bills? But who can ever resist talking to your loved ones via long distance calls? :hide: Well, I’m sure you’re just as unresisting as I am. Can’t resist making international phone calls and can’t resist being worrisome on phone bills as well. Thank goodness I stumbled upon Pingo – a brand of virtual calling card with astonishingly low rates! And do you know what I got just because I signed up for it? An $8 worth of FREE calls! If I were you, I would sign up now. You will receive up to 5 hours of free International calls. Plus, special phone card blog discount coupon: “ppp3” valid for $3 off Pingo. Reading Reader’s Digest August issue… On an article about migraine: “Migraine is good for the memory…people with migraine suffer less memory loss over time than the unaffected.” It makes me think of Ai. ;-) On a quote from Tony Blair: “A simple way to take the measure of a country is to look at how many want in…and how many want out.” I think of you, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. >:-| On a joke by Shelagh Laidlaw: The day after delivering my 14-pound 2-ounce son, I was resting in the hospital room when a nurse wheeled in my new roommate. “And there’s Mrs. Laidlaw,” the nurse said. “You know the one I told you about who delivered a toddler yesterday.” I remember my sister giving birth to her youngest son. | Bring on Sleep Deprivation |
2007-09-02 04:05:46
I admit I’m not getting sufficient sleep ever since I had my daughter. When she wakes up, I have to wake up. Surprisingly, I’m not complaining. When you see her smile or even cry at waking up, your heart melts instantly. You’d know it’s worth your giving up of 3 hours of that supposed 8-hour necessary sleep. Also, I’m losing out sleep to the Internet. Again, I’m not to complain about this. I believe I’ve utilized the World Wide Web responsibly. ;-) But lacking a decent sleep has the tendency to bring good news to me. I remember when I was still working at a learning center. I used to not get enough sleep, job and party-going related. Hehe. I used to report to work at 9 in the morning and be out by 8pm and go party until 2 or 3 in the mornin...

2007-08-27 07:15:52
I’ve been cooking these past few days. I might as well share this. I made some changes to the recipe. Made it more “lokal” but still “squisito”. Hehe. Pancetta Pasta ¾ stick butter6 cloves garlic2 packs of all-purpose Cream1 whole onion12 strips of bacon (sliced in 1” pieces)1 can of mushrooms½ cup grated cheese1 teaspoon ground black pepper¼ teaspoon salt2 tablespoons cooking oilPasta of your choice, cooked according to procedure (tip: boil in 10 mins for al dente pasta)1. It’s 4am and I chose to be awake. I got lucky to find my husband taking his break. By which that means I could use the computer for some time, one hour at the most. Hehe. For days now, I found myself complaining because I was never used to having him around. The computer was always available whenever I would find the need to go online. :hide: But since he came, I had to stick to a 6am-8pm shift. Haha. Mind you, it’s a terrible imposition. Why, imagine the pressure you had to let your brain go through just to let all the (supposedly) “creative” juices out only between those times! Sometimes, I do hear my brain creaking. =P Oh well. Now, I’m picking on my fingers. Restless at the remaining 15-minute time I’ve got. What to do? Probably what I do best when under pressure. Browse, b...

Rant and Win
2007-08-24 19:02:36
You’d probably think that being a work-at-home mom is the most convenient life there is. But I have proven myself wrong at that. When you’re working at home, there are always distractions. Well, I know it’s healthy to have distractions sometimes. But when there are lots of them, it no longer is. They can get too overwhelming. Take for instance when I’m trying to work and then someone turns on the boob tube. I can’t help but watch what’s playing especially tv shows and movies. :hide: Consequently, I procrastinate some more when I go ahead and rant all my might as I express the critic in me. :hide: So no wonder when I discovered Critics Rant, I felt like I had just dug gold. Hehe. It’s this ultimate place where I could share my opinion with everyone. Then I would have to ...

Calories, anyone?
2007-08-24 01:14:59
A few days ago, I did share with you how I’ve lost more weight than I had intended to. Not that I’m complaining but it did get me worried. Now that I have a daughter, my life is not mine alone. So is my health. While it’s important to stick to my ideal weight, I know that what’s more important is that I eat healthy. So I had to double-check my diet plan. Obviously, my diet plan works for me. However, I should scrutinize it in order to check if it really is a healthy diet. Healthy diet would mean that I am taking the right food and have considered the calories in food. That left me wondering. How can I keep track of that? Then I found out about myfitnesspal.com. Thank goodness it has its calorie counter that’s very easy and fast to use. L...

Guess what made my day balmy today? I got an approval from Smorty! =D With Smorty, I get paid to blog. In short, Smorty is a service that connects advertisers with bloggers. Isn’t that amazing? While this may not be the first of the services I signed up for to earn extra cash in blogging, I admit that Smorty has this special place in my heart. Why? Well, it’s not that easy to get in. Hehe. Honestly, I got rejected the first time I submitted my blog. But after I’ve worked things out, I resubmitted this blog and finally made it! Wehew! Consequently, I have to give a perfect score to Smorty for giving a speedy response to my request. :jumpclap: Moreover, when I logged in, I have nothing but admiration in Smorty’s site layout. | Free Dating Site? |
2007-08-23 23:52:25
When I was still single, my friends and I used to sign up to different dating sites for fun and to cure our curiosity in this never-ending online dating craze. :hide: Consequently, we enjoyed the experience. We got to meet a lot of people from all over the world and it was indeed worth the time spent. However, there was one aspect of these online dating sites that spoiled everything. That was when they start to charge you after a month of trial-period. >=( Suddenly, the foundation we were trying to build with other people turned to sand. Then recently, I’ve come to discover existing free dating sites. Although I’m already married, I still think it’s exciting especially to those who are into free online dating. One of the sites you should visit is ...

E-xcited on E-commerce!
2007-08-23 23:50:11
If you may not know, I have another hobby other than blogging. :hide: That would be making handcrafted stationeries. Always keen on making extra cash, I have tried to monetize it. In fact, I’ve sold quite a few sets to my close friends and families. Despite that most of them are located in different countries and states, I somehow managed. However, business is not that regular partly because the products are not visible and accessible as it should be online. Although I do have a separate website that features the stationeries, it hardly helps selling at all. It doesn’t work like an online store. I would have loved to turn the site into a store but e-commerce is trickier than the term itself. There’s going to be lots of object-oriented programm...

My husband and I first found this cheap heavenly treat at Robinson’s. It was actually my husband who got enticed to try it seeing “pesto” in one of its flavors. If it’s not obvious, he eats anything with pesto! Hehe. Anyhoo, to get to the point, we loved it and even came back to the place the next few days. Unfortunately, the stall could no longer be found. =(So when my husband found out that they’re in BTC, he was ecstatic and frantically called me to bring the oh-so-yummy good news. And now that he’s here with us for a week, he brought with him a bag of the goodies. Nam-nam, Tea Square Breadbites! =D...

When I’m not working, I’ve got a lot of spare time especially now that my daughter is not that crabby anymore. =P And during these vacant times, my mind wanders off to thoughts of my friends, new and old, located all over the world. I just feel like calling them and talk about anything under the sun. But it would be irresponsible of me. Why, they might be busy with their own lives and I can’t afford a long phone bill. :hide: Besides, why spend on long distance calls when I’m hooked all day in the Internet. I can always keep in touch with them through free chat rooms. Cost-free and 24-hours available, I can chat with my friends at any time convenient to all of us. It’s a virtual place conducive to organizing events and parties! Plus, we get the chance to meet new friends. I def...

This is the time of the year where I look forward for things to come the most. Moreover, who could ever resist the thought of thanksgiving and best of all, Christmas? To all women out there, you know what this would mean – a time of giving and a time of shopping! =P But I can’t be impulsive at buying unnecessary, costly things. That’s why as early as now, I’m keeping a gift list for immediate families to dear friends and at the same time, collecting online coupons for great discounts! These ways should save me from getting tempted to buying on impulse. This year, I admit things are going to be a li...

What's "Driving" my Friend Nuts
2007-08-19 21:12:05
A week ago, a friend called up to share sentiments of how inconvenient life can be if you don’t know how to drive. It stops you from getting things done without relying on someone to drive for you. So she decided to learn to drive next week. Consequently, she couldn’t help but feel anxious about the results. What if she were a poor driver? I told her she shouldn’t worry about this. The driver in me knows she’s going to be good at driving over time. I just have to remind her to get one of those good auto insurance plans. Consequently, if she really ends up being a poor driver, she needn’t worry. There are, after all, competitive poor driver auto insurance rates. I suggested that she should go ahead and get a couple of insurance quotes online. ...

Travel Trouble - Solved!
2007-08-19 00:44:49
My aunt and I are maybe thousands of miles away from each other but we always manage to keep in touch through phone. Sometime during one of our conversations, I encouraged her to get online because it will save her a couple of bucks on the long distance calls. Finally, after a few months of pondering, she gave in. Now, I’m glad she’s online. A week ago, we chatted and she shared with me her concern about traveling to another state to visit a friend. She’d always wanted to do it but she just doesn’t have the time to personally drop by an agency to get a ticket and probably a vacation package. Consequently, I know just about the solution to her problem. I then sent her a link for Hotel Reservations. She got giddy. I got giddy, too. So we went a...
