Thriller! Wedding Dance
2007-10-24 03:27:00
We see a lot of wacky stuff in wedding videos over here at Viddia.com, but after watching this one we were compelled to share. It looks like Amy & Robert got their whole wedding party to learn the choreography to Michael Jackson's Thriller dance and the results are hilarious. Great job, guys! We kind of wonder how long it took for everyone to get the dance down, but one thing is for sure--this was a wedding none of the guests will ever forget! Thanks to CMV Productions for doing a superb job of capturing the moment and submitting the video to us....

2007-10-02 19:56:00
We keep telling you how important a wedding video can be in capturing your special day. Now we have proof! An Idaho wedding crasher is charged with helping herself to more than just a piece of cake. A home video of Sciara and Charles Dougherty was taken at their wedding in Rigby, Idaho. While the unsuspecting bride and groom enjoyed their first dance, an uninvited guest was captured in the background trying to blend in.Kim Cooper reportedly introduced herself to friends and family and even helped decorate the bridal car. It wasn't until the newlyweds discovered dozens of gift cards and envelopes with cash missing that they considered the uninvited guest a suspect. "We said, 'What if she took them?' Then we thought, "No, no...

Videographer Associations
2007-07-17 20:04:00
You can be assured that a wedding videographer who is a member of either a local or a national videographers association is someone that takes their craft seriously.Videographer associations allow videographers to stay in the know on developments in the industry and they encourage continuing education about the latest technologies, new techniques, and trends in regards to videography.A top videographer need not be a member of an association at all, but we at Viddia have noticed that many videographers that are active in their respective associations are producing a very high level of video work. You may want to investigate and see if your local area has a videographer association, many metropolitan areas do. Contacting a videographer's association can help you to get matched up with a video...

Why should you use a professional videographer?
2007-04-19 02:52:00
You can have a friend or relative film your wedding or event, but there’s usually at least two drawbacks to this scenario. That person is not getting to enjoy your special occasion. The resulting quality you’ll get is no where near what you would receive by using the services of a professional. In fact, regardless of how talented that friend is, odds are they won’t even be equipped to do the job the way a videographer is. Most videographers have spent thousands or tens of thousands of dollars on equipment that helps ensure they can do the job right. Here’s a little overview of why that equipment is important.CamerasA professional videographer will use a three-chip digital camera that is more sophisticated than the palm held camera you’ll buy o...

Wedding Video Styles
2007-03-09 01:42:00
If you are in the process of choosing a videographer, you’ll want to familiarize yourself with the various styles of wedding videos that are being created today. Not all styles are created equal, for instance many couples might opt for a highly stylized video with a generous amount of music, transition effects between scenes and lots of titles. Others may prefer a less noticeable method of editing or even just the raw footage of the wedding day for preservation purposes.Regardless of the style of wedding video you choose, you should ensure that you see some sample wedding videos from your videographer in the style you prefer, otherwise your video could end up as an experiment by y...

Wedding Video Samples
2007-01-18 16:21:00
A referral from a friend or family member can carry quite a bit of weight during the videographer selection process; however a good reference only goes so far. You’ll always want to see some samples of a videographer’s work before you make a decision. Here are few reminders to consider regarding wedding video samples.Watch a Full Wedding VideoWatching a full wedding on DVD is a great way to see how your videographer will cover ALL of the wedding from start to finish and make the video flow seamlessly throughout. You’ll get a good idea of how they use audio, how they cover the myriad of activities going on, and most importantly how well they will be able to tell the story of yo...

Wedding Video Music and Wedding Songs
2007-01-14 22:50:00
There’s plenty of opportunity to use music throughout your wedding video, especially during segments like photo montages. A lot of couples wonder what kind of music they should choose for their wedding videos. That’s a pretty personal question; it’s almost akin to asking “who should I marry?” I say use whatever music you like! However, I would tend to lean more towards classics vs. the trendy hit of the moment. Also, Whitney Houston had some great songs like “I Will Always Love You” that you might be tempted to use, but after seeing her reality show with Bobby Brown, do you really want her playing a pivotal role in your wedding video me...

Wedding Video Prices
2007-01-14 14:16:00
When investigating wedding videography, the first questions most brides will ask is, “How much should I pay for a wedding video?”The answer is: “It depends”. Initial quoted prices can range from as low as $450 to well over $7000. In the Los Angeles area, $1800 to $3,000 is probably a fair average of what couples are paying for a wedding video. How are prices determined? There are a lot of factors that go into the pricing equation.Skill and Experience Level of Videographer(s)Some videographers take their art form more seriously than others and this plays an important factor in price. | Advantages of Videography vs. Photography |
2007-01-12 18:37:00
When planning wedding or special event, photography is usually the first thing that comes to mind (for most people) when thinking about preserving the memories of that special day. After all, photography has been readily available since the turn of the century and over time has become an important part of our everyday lives. As a result of historical tradition, videography often takes a backseat to photography for most brides when they’re budgeting their wedding. The Advancement of VideographyWhile photography is certainly a great investment for preserving your special day, videography has come along way in recent years. The advent of digital video cameras, digital music and professional video editing systems that run on home computers has dramatical...
