it's about 4:20pm now.
2012-02-12 03:39:07
my maid, pond, came in at 12:25pm thereabouts. left at around 2:15pm. ..after she left, I went back to sleep for about 2 hours. it's about 4:21pm now. awake but a little dizzy.
I called the priest earlier today while pond was cleaning my place. we are schedule to meet at 7:30pm tonight. giving him back his computer. after a short summary of what I did and what to do, he's going to treat me to a buffet near his place. YEAH!
I think the priest will be happy with the changes I made to his computer. it's like brand new again. granted, it's still an old laptop. but with the changes I made, it is at least twice as fast as it was before.
even made a backup of everything. put a copy on my 2 terabyte external backup drive just in case he needs my help again with the thing.\
..between now and 6:30pm, (that's about 2 hours), my plan is to just vege in my room playing computer games. then, do the 3S. out the do...

working on the priest's computer.
2012-02-12 03:19:28
that's basically what I did today so far. woke up at 11am. and except for the 3S and eating, I worked on the priest's computer. altogether I worked on it for about 4 hours.
3 hours of that time was for installing, uninstalling software, and finetuning stuff. 1 hour for backing up everything.
the only thing I didn't do was upgrade his BIOS. and I'm not sure I want to do that for now since everything works except for his sound. an existing problem before he gave me the computer.
it's an old computer. so, I think the built-in sound card is bad. I tested the sound using an external USB sound card, and everything worked. he can buy one at pantip for 100 baht. ...hmmm? that reminds me. the priest has one of my external USB sound cards. I lended it to him just before his 3 month trip around the world.
anyway, it's about 5:15pm now. I'm going to take a break away from the thing for now. not sure if I want to go t...

looking for love in all the wrong places?
2012-02-11 21:19:20
one of the lounge lizards is suggesting I look for a soulmate. and I'm wondering if he truly understands how hard it is to do that?
hey, bro.. you really don't know how hard I've tried. ..let me put it this way. everytime I find someone whom I'm interested in, I give them the old honest abe line... quote, "I live on about a thousand dollars a month. would you be interested in shacking up with me?"
guess what?... every FREAKING time, I get the old "NO money, NO honey" response. yeah. yeah. yeah. they don't just come out and hit me with the above line. it's more of a white lie... quote, "oh. I've got to go." and I never see them ever again.
that's the way it is for a lot of people. ..me included. you want to suggest to me that maybe I find somebody whom I don't really have any attraction to? frankly, I think that would be more trouble then it is worth.
..I know some girls who I think ...

remember Loverboy?
2012-02-09 12:24:13
yeah. he made a surprise appearance tonight. really late at around 11:35pm. just as I was about to make my way home, I bumped into him at the promenade.
I was with barnaby, ironman, and clark gable at the time. the minute we walked into the promenade. he turned around and gave me this big huge smile as if to say... "I'm BACK!"
here for 2 weeks. we will have some time to hangout together later.... the reason why I say later is because I'm going back to bangkok tomorrow for a few days. returning on monday or tuesday. have some errands to deal with.
after maybe talking with loverboy for about 10 minutes, I took my leave. while leaving, I noticed that there were several other lounge lizards hanging out at the promenade. saw kaito, the richmond district guy, the hot pot man. got home at midnight.
it's about 12:45am now. thinking of going to sleep at 2am thereabouts. meeting up with loverboy at noon...

the priest is HERE!
2012-02-09 02:04:43
yeah. at around 2pm, I get this call from the priest. he's in pattaya. here for a day. going back to bangkok tomorrow. so, we make plans to eat at sizzler tonight. haven't seen the lounge lizard in like 3 months. it will be good to touch bases with him to see how his long trip was.
after dinner, we'll probably do the promenade. and possibly a foot massage.
I'm still a little sleepy now. so, I'm going to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. sizzler at 7pm.
zzzzzzz....

feeling really lazy today.
2012-02-08 06:50:15
have absolutely no desire to step out of my apartment today. why, you ask? I don't know.
I woke up at around noon. decided to pack up all my things just in case I wanted to leave with an hours notice. (..the trip back to the states is still about 3 months away? ..eager I guess.)
took me about 2 hours to pack everything up. yeah. give me one hour and I can up and run.
after all the packing, I didn't want to do anything. so, I laid in bed for about 4 hours. twiddled my thumbs. veged.
it's about 7:50pm now. thought about going to the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. but didn't have enough of an appetite to go. also thought about going to the promenade. ...I didn't have enough of a desire to stare at girls.
decided to just lay in bed all day. don't want to do anything.
lazy me.
stick a hamburger in front of my face, and I might take it away from you.... otherwise...
got a call from willie brown at aroun...

made it to the promenade tonight.
2012-02-07 10:26:45
YES! even though I was like physically at around 70%, I was still able to make it out for a few hours.
the day started out with my leaving my apartment at around 4pm. went over to the 60 baht haircut place. got my hair chiseled. look 20 years younger now.
from the haircut place, I made a beeline to the central festival mall. was at the sizzler at 6:15pm. did their all-you-can-eat salad bar with a bottle of water. 204 baht.
I finished up with sizzler at 7pm. and then went to the promenade. get this. the minute I get there, I see thomas jefferson and barnaby. clockwork. we talk. we start on a circuit. a slow one mind you since I am still recovering from the flu.
halfway into the circuit, we bump into jay leno, rodney dangerfield, mark twain, kaito, and the hot pot man. lounge lizards are coming out of the woodwork. everybody seems happy.
when we reach the starbucks on beach road, I take m...

getting sticker shock already.
2012-02-07 00:40:34
here I am.. still in thailand. and I'm getting sticker shock already. YIKES!
a couple of my good buddies back in the states are giving me current prices of stuff back in san francisco. and yes, it is rather frightening for me to hear the gap in prices from when I was living there 14 years ago.
my favorite cheap steak house - tad's steak house - in union square. back in 1997 thereabouts, I paid about $7.55 for a steak dinner. the sarge tells me it is about $16 dollars now. EGADS!
blondies pizza was $1.50 for a slice back when I lived there. sarge tells me it's over $5 dollars now. FU#K!
..I guess that means I won't be eating at tad's steak house on this trip, people. and blondies sounds like a no-no too.
F7 told me that they still have the $1 dollar breakfast items at mcdonalds. so, I'm really happy about that. YEAH! ditto for the $1.50 2 piece and a biscuit at KFC. YEAH!
the jury is still ou...

Expatistan.com
2012-02-06 14:40:40
have you heard of it? my buddy, errol flynn, pointed the way to me. ..interesting site. check it out if you have the time. it basically compares cities around the world to their perspective "Cost of Living Index".
according to www.expatistan.com, san francisco is 63% more expensive to live in than bangkok, thailand.
now, this may or may not be true. but the site does give you some indication of what it may be like cost wise. personally, I think living in san francisco is about 200% more expensive than living in bangkok.
but then, that is my opinion. the opinion of someone who has lived in each place for 10+ years.
..changing the subject. the latest scoop on my condition.
it's about 3:30am now. toilet run. still in pattaya. still sick. flu. feeling a lot better. no backache. no headache. no coughing. still have a warm sweat all over my body.
I think I'll try and ...

tiffy NITE comes to the rescue!
2012-02-05 21:41:58
talk about stupid. I forgot about the tiffy NITE the first day I had the flu. so, I suffered big time. UGH!
but last night just before I went to sleep, I remembered I had a box sitting in my closet ready for use. ..one tablet was all I needed to push away the backache, stuffed up nose, and headache. mind you, I'm still not ready to hangout. but at least I was able to go to sleep last night.
thank you, tiffy NITE.
it's about 10:35am now. just woke up for something to eat. starving. yeah. I think I lost some weight. my stomach is growling big time. feeling a lot better. have this warm sweat all over my body. no stuffy nose. not coughing. ..good.
will I be able to go hangout some tonight, you ask?
probably not. I think I'll stay indoors one more day to make sure I don't get a relapse. better safe then sorry....
