Changes
2008-07-29 11:25:23
I'm in the middle of making some major changes to the blog. I have made major changes as a person this summer. I finally have direction in my life, the direction I should have recognized long ago. So I think it's time to make a change to the blog as a whole. While I'm making some theme changes not only to the look but the content, a lot of the things I regularly do like posting videos, comics, funny stories will continue, just with a different spin on things....

Camp was awesome!
2008-07-28 14:33:43
So it's been a while since I've posted, I've been so busy with getting ready for summer camp, I haven't really had the time to do much else. But we got back from camp friday afternoon, and now I'm fully recovered and ready to gear up for the new school year. Anyways, without further delay, here is the lastest "A Life Inspired":Camp was amazing this year. We all learned about the word, made new friends and made promises to revive our lives. But now that camp is over, that doesn’t mean that ...

Update
2008-07-16 10:30:50
Sorry for the lack of any kind of update or a regular blog schedule. Working as the summer youth intern here at FBCR is hectic, but exciting. I leave for Youth Camp Saturday and the kids arrive on Monday and it goes trhough Friday. So all this hard work Barrett (my fellow intern), Randy and I have done is about to pay off. Despite all the work I've been doing, this has been one of the best summers I've had in a long time, if not ever. Getting to hang out, spend time and just mentor these te...

Guard your Heart
2008-07-08 12:35:24
Proverbs 4:23 says “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the well spring of life.” Just think about what this says for a moment. Back in bible times, a well spring is where all the drinkable water come from and if it became contaminated then it became just a hole in the ground. It wasn’t like nowadays where you can just get a filter and clean what comes out of the spring. If your heart is the well spring of life, then when your heart becomes contaminated, our life becomes cont...

Giving and Recieving
2008-06-30 20:09:09
For the first and probably last time I'll post "A Life Inspired" article on back to back days. But recent events have cause me to want to post one today as well. Last week I was at Mission Arlington participating in a local mission trip with my church. I've been reflecting back on what I did last week and what they meant not only to the people I helped out but to myself as well.Mission work is sort of a balancing act, allowing yourself to walk into a place where you must be focused on doing w...

A Life Inspired
2008-06-30 16:52:57
I am now in my second week as a summer youth ministry intern and part of the job is to write a short article for a weekly newsletter. Below is the first article I wrote, I hope I'll continue writing these even after my work this summer is done.So after 5 years of getting to hang out and teach you guys, I was able to get myself a “promotion” to be the second summer intern. It’s funny how life turns out sometimes. If you were to tell me when I was in high school that I was going to be in...

Freaky
2008-06-23 21:52:55
I went out to grab a pizza so I can relax tonight and catch up on my DVR. As I got home, our parking lot light closest to my apartment was out. Being the only light in the area, it was noticably dark. Kinda scary, so I scanned around before I got out to head to my apartment. As I get to my stairway, not only is the doorlight downstairs out but the light in front of my apartment was flickering.Needless to say that was very unsettling, so I hurried to my apartment and opened the door only to n...

Laws to Live by
2008-06-16 14:53:41
A couple of good friends of mine moved to another state this past weekend. I've known Rich for over 10 years and has been a great friend over the years and has always been someone I can talk to and count on. His wife is such a sweetheart and has been a joy to get to know.I've said that there are people who come into your life for a reason, season or lifetime, and these two are most definate friends for a lifetime. So I've added a "Law to Live By" to my life.#6- No distance, no matter how far, c...

interesting site
2008-06-11 21:48:22
I found this interesting site today. It's called futureme.org. What you do is write yourself an email and set the date and they will send you the email on that date. This is like some type of internet time capsule where you can write yourself a note of encouragement and send it to yourself days, weeks, months or even years from now. Brillant concept for a website. Why can't I think of something clever like that?...

Musings
2008-06-05 20:29:36
This blog entry is a "Musing" written by dwc.Sarah Jessica Parker is wearing one of those micro dress things that leaves very little to the imagination. At least, very little to my imagination. She is in El Chico tonight on I-35 there in Denton because it is Enchilada Night. She looks across the room and spies Gabe. So, she asks the waitress "Who is that Red head hottie in the corner vacuuming chips like a street sweeper?" The waitress identifies him simply as "Wednesday Gabe". She, in a girly, ...

Doing some good
2008-05-22 18:28:20
Sometimes it's so hard to give to charities and non-profit organizations. Whether you don't know any charity's you beleive in or which ones are scams. Sometimes you just don't have any money to give. Here are two websites that are simple and you can give easily.goodsearch.comA search engine that gives 1 cent to the charity or school of your choice for each search you do. So if you don't know any charities, give to your former high school. While 1 cent may not sound like much, just think abo...

All the God Things
2008-05-22 17:23:26
I've been borrowing CDs from a friend of mine and a really good one I just borrowed recently.Last night ripping some tracks onto my machine, I heard Thrity Three, a track from Smashing Pumpkins’ 1995 two-disc opus Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, easily one of the greatest rock albums of the 90s. I hadn’t heard the song in years, maybe since high school, yet all the lyrics came flooding back to me.I came to the realization that a few albums just immediately make me think of high schoo...

2008-05-07 13:21:07
Okay, so I'm so stealing this from G4's Attack of the Show. But it's just to funny not too share. What made this a little funnier to me was that this was my friend Micah and I had a conversation about Showbiz Pizza last week. And just for the record the song is Disturbed's cover of the Genesis song "Land of Confusion"EDIT: Sad, video is no longer available.EDIT 2: Found it again, they just moved it to another profile....

Too many Videos
2008-05-01 17:34:53
I've been posting way too many videos lately. So I'll just post a little musing that's been on my mind.About a month ago, a friend of mine asked me what a "charmed life" is. At the time I didn't know what to say. It's not really something you think about. But I came across a good quote today that I think explains it perfectly:"A person is a succes if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between does what he wants to do"- Bob Dylan...

Legendary Map Pack
2008-05-01 17:00:44
Halo 3 is one of the best games to play with your friends. Well, yesterday, Halo just got a little better, because Xbox Live released new downloadable content for the game which includes 3 new maps to play on. Maps are the life force of Halo multiplayer and it's always fun to get new maps. That's why Foundry on in the first DLC map pack for this game was so great because you could create endless maps to play on using the Forge game type.Okay, I think I've nerded out enough, time to find some ...

For all you guys...
2008-05-01 16:59:52
...who think they want a girl that is into sports. Think again. Do you really want a girl spouting off sports like you and the guys do? Just watch this video and tell me you want a girl into sports.Yeah she's cute, but about 30 seconds into this I began wondering when she's going to take her shirt off. Maybe if you get some alcohol in her....

Take that Madden Curse
2008-05-01 16:58:14
Today, EA Sports unvailed the cover athlete of the next NFL video game, Madden 09 which is also celebrating it's 20th years of Madden video games. EA Sports seems to have found a way to (hopefully) evade the Madden Curse. They are featuring the first ever retired player as the cover athlete of Madden 09, Brett Farve. As a joke, NFL commisioner Roger Goodell released this statement: "Due to EA games trying to evade the "myth" of the video game madden curse by putting retired quarterback Brett Favr...
