Dave & Ebony’s wedding on Saturday was beautiful. The forecast was for 38 degrees, which is always a bit scary when you’re getting married in a stone church during an Australian Summer… but a cool change hit during the ceremony, and by 3pm the temperature was reasonable and there was a gentle breeze blowing.

Lovleen & Prabhdeep’s wedding was the largest Indian wedding I have been a part of… It’s amazing to witness such a large scale wedding, and experience so much love being expressed for the bride and groom throughout the four days of celebration. At the main wedding reception, there were around 800 guests!

Alex & Carmen were married on the 7th of the 7th of 2007… What a cool date eh?! It was a perfect day weather wise - light breezes and warm sun through gentle cloud formations. Both Carmen and Alex looked fantastic and the day went without a single hitch.
Something unique what Alex and Carmen did for their wedding was make it a green event - They did this using something called Bullfrog Power. You may have heard of this - it’s where you calculate the amount of energy used to power an event, and pay to put that amount of green energy back onto the grid.
Alex holds a strong conviction for reversing the damage we’ve caused to our environment. I also have a desire to reduce our environmental impact in my personal and business life. Another outdoor wedding! I love Summer in Canada!
Christina & Stephen were married under a couple of huge maples out near Milton at the Country Heritage Park. We got some great shots while driving around on the trailer behind a John Deere tractor… There’s an old school house, a church, a gas station and some great horse paddocks.

I often feel like I’m the luckiest guy on earth - It seems incredible that I get to work with awesome couples so often. I got the sweetest note back from Gizelle this week after she returned from her honeymoon. I’d like to share a bit of it with you :
Hi Dave,
I have to tell you that we are very impressed with ALL the photos you took of our wedding! I can’t stop looking at the slideshow…I find myself looking at it all the time. I think I have shown EVERYONE at work the photos…ha ha! They have all said that they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen before! You and Kim did an excellent job, I think I have recommended you to everyone I know, and even people who I don’t know, but have mentioned that they are getting married!!

Matt and Rachel are both studying at University of Guelph, so it was pretty appropriate for them to have an uncluttered outdoor wedding under the trees on campus. It was an evening wedding and the mood couldn’t have been more perfect - the clouds lay scattered and during the ceremony the sun broke through. A perfect day.

Tim and Lisa called me 6 days before their wedding to arrange a time to sit down and go over their final wedding details. As we were chatting about what they love doing together, I discovered that they’ve often hiked up through the Escarpment together. I suggested to them the idea to do a shoot together before their wedding to get them comfortable in front of the camera, and also to create some really beautiful images for them. So just 2 days before their wedding we were standing by Webster’s Falls (near Dundas). What a beautiful spot eh!
Hope you enjoy the shots - we all had a lot of fun creating them.
And here I am, well and truly drench after heading under the falls with them : )

Even though Canada is my adopted country, I always feel rather patriotic when Canada Day comes around. Tonight I was down in Port Credit for the Jazz festival and fireworks to celebrate this great country. We certainly have a lot to be very proud of as a nation and it’s always nice to be out simply celebrating community and freedom.
During the course of the evening, we painted each others faces with variations of the Canada flag.. here are a few shots : )
However, the main reason for this post was to thanks those people who shared their favourite Canada Flag photos with me. I received a lot of entries, and while I’d like to post more, I decided to just post my top 3 choices… this first one’s my favourite. It was a submitted by Kim Macdonald (as is the second)
This third one deserves a big thumbs up for the effort involved - great shot Michael.

I’m a nature lover. When I do have a day off - a rare occurrence during Summer - there’s nothing I love more than getting outdoors and exploring the country side to recharge my batteries.
Spring in Canada is Amazing. Everything is so lush and vibrant. There are seemingly animals hiding in every shrub! Here are a few shots I grabbed while out yesterday…
If you’re interested in getting into some of the countryside but don’t know where to go close-by, drop me an email and I’ll hook you up. This particular walk was on this route. Remember to take some good hiking boots and your bug repellent ; )

We had a great time in Malta, just got back to work today. The wedding was also great and we finally got to see the photos this weekend - really amazing! Basically, both of our families and some of our friends have developed an actual addiction to the slideshows! Every time we hear from them, they are re-watching and re-watching the photos!
Thanks again for a great job! We were also really impressed with Kim - a fantastic assistant!

| Stunning Reception at The Victoria Inn |

It’s so nice shooting weddings in the country. There’s something so refreshing about it. From starting out at Mike’s farm, to a sweet ceremony in a quaint country church, finishing up in the open air by Rice Lake.
Mike & Sarah were such a fun loving, affectionate couple. They spent most of their day talking, whispering and laughing together - it was obvious that their marriage is based on a powerful and committed friendship.
Kim Macdonald (one of the new photographers in our ranks) was along as my second photographer and assistant, and she did an amazing job of photographing the guys prior to the ceremony… Check these shots out!
I snagged this shot while traveling in the limo between the ceremony and reception.
When we arrived at the Inn, right away I could see that the dock would provide us an amazing location for a variety of shots…

I’m not sure if any of you were down at the Waterfront Festival last weekend. It was held at Port Credit. There were some great performers… Tom Cochrane, Chantal Kreviazuk &
Jim Cuddy. I was able to make it along on the Sunday and snagged a few cool shots of Jim tearing it up… Man can that guy sing!
I love this portrait of the violinist… I’m not sure of her name, but she absolutely rocked with some crazy solos! Very impressed indeed.
