Model Chic in Madrid
2010-12-27 09:37:00
Hope everyone had a great holiday and those of you on the East Coast are surviving the snow.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my flight will take off on Tuesday but until then, I'm going to continue drooling over Naty Abascal's Madrid home.  I came across it while I was flipping through Hola! magazine at Rizzoli.  I don't speak or read Spanish so I can't tell you anything about it but it...

Winter in the Adirondacks
2010-12-21 10:58:00
I was thinking how nice it would be to post a something snowy on this first day of winter and magically, the perfect house came to me.  APT with LSD on Vogue.com toured the family home of Amanda Brooks in the Adirondacks.  Looks like a beautiful place to spend Christmas.  For all the details, check out the full story online and don't miss Amanda's I Love Your Style website.  I'm still sick and...

Christmas on the Upper East Side
2010-12-20 09:31:00
Luckily, I managed to get out and take some photos of the wonderful holiday decorations on the Upper East Side before I became an incubus of viral plague.  New Yorkers really know how to go all out.  Enjoy!  Photos by Heather Clawson for Habitually Chic...

Silver and Sage Revisited
2010-12-19 17:17:00
I posted these photos two years ago in Silver and Sage but I love them so much that I couldn't help reposting them.  The house located in New Canaan, Connecticut was built in 1885 and belongs to designer Michelle Morgan Harrison.  It was originally featured in Connecticut Cottages & Gardens and makes me wish I had a whole house to decorate for the holidays.  I love that the colors complement the...

Do you display Christmas cards?
2010-12-19 10:59:00
Growing up, my mother used to display Christmas cards along a ribbon along a door frame.  The cards were held up by tiny little red clothes pins.  Those were the days when you would receive a pile of cards everyday in the mail.  Fewer people send out cards these days so I feel like I should be respectful of the ones I do receive.  Right now they are sitting in a tray but I'm thinking about how...

Pretty in Paris Update
2010-12-17 15:40:00
Remember this pretty apartment in Paris that I wrote about in the post Blue Monday last month?  Well, you can see more of it and who owns it in the January 2011 issue of Harper's Bazaar.  Interior designer Chahan Minassian worked with Sally and Michel Perrin of Perrin Paris on this dream apartment on the Quai Voltaire as well as their home in Los Angeles.  Now that I know who owns it, I wonder if...

Lauren's Luggage
2010-12-17 13:16:00
The one apartment in New York I am dying to see belongs to Lauren and Andrés Santo Domingo. The January 2011 issue of Vogue published the photo above which has me even more intrigued.  I heard that Jacques Grange helped decorate it and another article mentions her Hippo bar from Lalannes.  Maybe more photos of her home will appear as she promotes her new online trunk show Moda Operandi.  I'm...
