I Need Your Help!
2007-11-11 16:02:30
1.) Nothing is more comforting than to know you are not alone. That is why there will be a new section added to this site called, "Survival Stories." Here is where one will find the strength to get through their own crisis, their own issues...by reading about your experience.I would like to ask of you who have gone through any sort of personal ordeal, to share your story in order that others will know they are not alone. It may be you have lost a loved one, have battled with a severe illness, seen tragedies in war, fought addiction, or any other situation. Tell us about it from beginning to end...your first hearing or realization about it, your fears, anger, sadness, how you coped with it, how God gave you your strength, how His love made the difference.Sharing your story will not only be ...

I cried tonight.
2007-11-10 09:34:23
Nine year old, Rowan Ford, was found dead this morning they say, a couple of counties away from her home. Her body was found in a cave. They don't know how she got there or how she died. But I can guess, it wasn't her doing. She was an adorable little girl.I locked myself in the bathroom and cried.A mother strapped her two young children in their car seats, then watched as the car sank down, into the water. My kids were the same ages.I stood at the kitchen sink and cried.A mother drowned all of her, many, children in their family bathtub. She laid them on the bed, side by side.I went off alone and cried. Two men decided to go mushroom hunting and left two young children, strapped and locked in the car. They eventually came back. The oldest had pulleded her hair out from the anguish of the h...

Stories from the Mission Field
2007-11-07 21:05:34
Deon's StoryI was raised in an on again, off again Christian home...meaning we were always Christ based, but didn't attend church as regularly as possible. Luckily for me, over 2 years ago, my wife really was pushing for us to start attending church as a family. We started attending full time again, and have our entire family very involved. Praise God!My story of missionary work happened only a few months ago. I signed up for a prison mission to attend a youth Prison in Gainseville, Texas. I was kind of pushed into it by a friend of mine that wanted me to attend with him. Reluctantly, I signed up. I wasn't sure how I would be able to serve in this capacity. I still consider myself a new Christian, and can not quote scriptures word for word like some peop...

When I Thank Him for What He Has DoneSomeday I shall stand in God's cityTo receive the bright treasures I've wonBut how can I ever accept them,Till I thank Him for what He has done? What joy as I stand and listenTo the songs in that city beyond,But a tear in my eyes must glistenWhen I thank Him for what He has done. They say there will be no sighing,In that city when life's race is run,But how can I keep from cryingWhen I thank Him for what He has done? When I thank Him for what He has done, I mustlook back to the crucified One,On that beautiful shore, I must kneel once more,Just to thank Him for what He has done. Before I can shout hallelujah,Before I can sing the sweet song,I must kneel at the feet of JesusAnd thank Him for what He has done!-Unknown _____________________________________A Con...

Is It True What They Say?
2007-10-24 20:19:07
List is Ongoing"It doesn't matter where you go, as long as you go."If who you worship includes idols or the doctrine of man then, no, it won't matter where you go.If where you go teaches in part and not the whole then, no, it won't matter where you go.If why you go is because you're allowed to be who you want to be then, no, it won't matter where you go.But, if you want to go where God is the One worshipped and Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, where all of God's Word is heard, studied, believed and obeyed and where God's instruction in behavior is taught and encouraged then, yes, it will matter where you go.Where does one find such a place as this?Wherever the church of Christ meets."Once saved, Always saved"Those that say this do so because they do not believe a Christian c...

A Mother's Advice to Her Son
2007-09-09 20:16:23
It is inevitable that, one day, women will become desirable to our sons. As Christian mother's, we have an obligation to teach them about the kind of woman that will be a helpmate to them, as that is why we women were created...*Gen2:18-24"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him."And one day, when our son's find their helpmate, they will marry and live apart from their parents and will begin a life with their wife.*Gen2:24"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."We want what is best for our son's to succeed in their future happiness. We want a wife of theirs to build them up, to strengthen them and to love them. How do we teach them about the characteristic...

What's in a name?
2007-09-01 15:38:26
Does it really matter what name you go by?Does it matter the meaning behind it?The answer is, Yes! Of course! Why? Because God taught us, from the very beginning, that there is meaning in a name.To distinguish:In Genesis 1 and 2, we can see that everything was given a name for the purpose of distinguishing one from another -light/dark; day/night; days were numbered and creatures were classified as birds, cattle and creeping things. Then came man, created in "Our image, according to Our likeness;" Man was to be distinguished even further as male and female. Adam was given a "helper comparable to him." She is called Woman, because she was taken out of man. In the next verse, we see them called man and wife...as one flesh.Meaning:From the moment we are born, we are given a name that our parents...

What defines a Christian woman?
2007-08-22 21:27:34
Part Two: Personal Responsibilities of a Christian WomanSo, now you are a Christian. What a glorious day! A day you will cherish forever! Praise be to God!Welcome to the church of Christ! As Christians, we have a special relationship with our Heavenly Father as, children and heirs:*Rom8:16,17"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if Children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."and as chosen people:*1Peter2:9,10"But you are a chosen people (generation), a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His ma...

What defines a Christian woman?
2007-08-17 20:27:08
Part One: Becoming a Christian WomanWhen I was young, I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Typical me, I answered, "A wife and mother." You, too, may have been asked that very question and given answers like, "A ballerina" or "A singer" or "A veterinarian" or something like that.I wonder though, were there any among us whose answer was, "A Christian"?I'll concede there was probably a few who did, but the majority of us wouldn't have. Why? Because, "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child..." 1Cor13:11. As a young person, your life is filled with constant distractions. You're learning new things, experimenting with boundaries, discovering what you like and don't lik...
