Denver Broncos Week 4 Game Ball - Defense
2011-10-05 11:02:30
As I said yesterday, there isn't anything that consoles a loss to our Denver Broncos. Unless it's a win. Or two. Or three. Being beaten by the defending champs doesn't make it hurt any less. However, this is a sponsored weekly post and win or lose, I believe it is worth highlighting some of the positives on our team. So if no one deserves a Game Ball in a losing effort, please consider this a pat on the back (to quote a friend), a slap on the butt, a we'll get em' next week buddy, good effort, whatever floats your boat is fine with me. I'm not looking to smooth over the bad or give everyone a trophy either. Anyway, today we take a look at the stars on defense. If there could be any bright spots after having 49 points hung on the team. Wait for the snap...Jump.
I've selected six players for consideration this week. Again, there isn't much to get excited about other than our top draft pick is doing well and the Broncos Defense grabbed two interceptions to get off ...

Food For Thought: How Much Time Is Enough Time For Tim Tebow
2011-10-05 10:52:25
Let's face it. The Denver Broncos quarterback situation is a never-ending 'chicken or the egg' circle, with no clear ending in sight. We can keep going around and around, or we can use our minds a bit to help pass the time.
I have seen many, many fans say they want to see Tim Tebow play so that we can 'find out what we have'. The concept makes complete sense, but when dissected can go several different ways.
How many games is fair to evaluate a 2nd year quarterback that did not have the fortune of having an offseason program to continue his development? We already know that Tebow will not start Week 5, so that leaves 11 games after this weekend.
Don't twist the question, however. I'll hold you to the answer! The Broncos are 1-3 and could be on their way to a top-5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Many have said the Broncos should play Tebow to find out if drafting a QB in the first round is the move to make. How do we know? If we are to ...

Some Clarification is in Order: Moreno, Labeling and the Future
2011-10-04 15:01:11
This has been a strange season already, but one of the more interesting things to note deals with the resurgence of Willis McGahee. Since Moreno has been injured most of the first quarter of the season, we've seen McGahee have a solid start to the season, and has been impressive for two games out of four. along with this surge in performance from McGahee there have been a lot of Mile High Report members calling Moreno a bust. Not to take anything away from McGahee's success this season, and I expect him to be a big part of this team's run game for the rest of the season, I do want to talk a bit about Knowshon Moreno's future with the Broncos and whether Moreno is a bust.
Definitions:
The real hard part about this is the term "bust" has varied means to fans. So rather than just rely on fans definitions I looked around to see when coaches, players and analysts used the term bust and what type of player they applied it too. So with that in mind I will make a composite of what ...

Denver Broncos Week 4 Game Ball - Offense
2011-10-04 13:01:01
After the trouncing the defending Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers put on our beloved Denver Broncos, I'll bet nobody wants to look at the positives that came out of the game for our side. Of course it was a shellacking, but it is a tradition to award those players who give an impressive performance with a Game Ball. More than one can be given, but in this instance, the honor will go to the best Bronco player on Offense from Sunday's game. I will list the best performances in my opinion, hand out the award and give the fans a voice to vote with. This will be a weekly series and the Defense will follow on the next day. I'm not worried about the Special Teams this week because other than Britton Colquitt's 49.0 yard average and the continued quality returns by Quan Cosby, there isn't much that I want to bring up. Maybe next week that changes. We'll see if the Chargers have done anything to improve their bottom of the league Special Teams Unit. Anyway, enough with the rambling...

Reading Between The Lines: What John Fox's Comments About Tim Tebow Might Mean
2011-10-04 10:46:15
I won't pretend to know what John Fox means when he talks about Tim Tebow, Kyle Orton or anyone else. Much of it is coach-speak, of course. During Fox's weekly Monday press-conference, however, I found a couple of answers Fox gave to the never-ending questions about Tim Tebow intriguing to say the least.
Read them for yourself...
After answering two different questions about the quarterback position with "Kyle Orton is our starting quarterback", Fox was asked directly about why Tebow played just one play against the Packers. That play, of course, was a quarterback sneak in the 1st quarter that lost a yard - not very creative.
Here was Fox's response:
"No. 1, Tim Tebow is not our starting quarterback. He was in [one snap during] our first 15 plays, and there is an element of Tim playing the quarterback position and a type of offense that he would have in that position that could be beneficial to the Broncos-our offense. He could be in the run game. I...

Broncos Run Roughshod ... Best Chance To ...
2011-10-02 18:30:43
The defense finally got manhandled for the first time in 2011. It's a sight we saw often last season, but rather than jump off the nearest bridge with the sky falling let's just realize that this team had to be perfect to have a chance. I really think the Green Bay Packers are going to repeat this year. They are that good.
Once again, Kyle Orton struggled to find consistency and really helped the Packers jump on the Broncos throats early and it was downhill - with a slight bump in the second quarter - ever since. Once again, the Orton-led Broncos put up a paltry 17 points(23 pts, thank you Garbage Time Stud!). However, I'm not upset by that...just used to it.
The fact is, the Broncos were run roughshod and didn't have a chance really. My problem is, if the Broncos were serious about Tebow's development then why not put him in the game late to get some reps? Unless that is, they have no interest in developing Tebow at the future franchise quarterback.
I don't like this theor...
