On his first game back from the DL (for over a month) with a pinched shoulder Ted Williams hit a 2 run homer in the seventh inning. The season was his 20th and the Red Sox won both games against the Baltimore double header....

Extended Innings For Fourth Day

In May of 1996, the Red Sox were sure to be tired as on May 11 they played the Jays for 11 innings and won 6 to 5. The next day they played and lost 9 to 8 (11 innings), May 13th they lost once more 8-7 (13 innings) finally on the 14th they won against the Angels 4-3, a game that only took 12 innings... So in short the 14th marks the fourth extra inning game the Red Sox played in a row. This is a rare occurence especially in a non-playoff/world series game...
