| Just being a fan today... |
| 2007-06-17 14:36:42 |
So I'm trapped at my mother's house today without my usual tools I use to wander around the web for NFL Jabber. Oh I could still do it, I really just don't feel like it. Instead I have decided to just be a sports fan today and browse around some of my favorite sites. Which leads me back here to The Bloghouse because I feel I have to share.A couple of things I wanted to share are Sports by Brooks new girl, Teressa. Yep, that's both of them...Click on the link to see Teressa and here reasons. Elsewhere on the net...Kissing Suzy Kolber does a fine literary piece on Sarah Shahi (with hot video) and the new Dolphins cheerleader, Ashley White...yummy.Sara ShahiCould you imagine the response from the Browns fans if Derek Anderson started the season as the QB? The NFLPA is working overtime this week. They feel the Raiders are "too committed." The Raiders will be punished...they must be dealt with. "I was notified that the (NFL) Players (Association) believes our total commitment to improving our football team has resulted in some violations of rules regarding practice standards," Lane Kiffin said in a statement released by the club. "The union has complained about the high level of intensity, player aggressiveness and fast pace of our practices and as a result, has taken away the final week of our offseason program." It's all fun and games until someone gets shot in the nuts. Cheesy I know but I couldn't resist. Redskins rookie D-Back, LaRon Landry could not practice on Friday do to a paintball to the groin. His injury occurred while some of th...

Johnnie boy tested positive for elevated levels of epitestosterone before his fight...or his...I don't know what to call it. Before he was knocked the %$#& out on June 2nd.Tests on a pre-fight urine sample collected June 1 showed Morton's epitestosterone level was "more than 10 times the normal level for an athlete," commission official William Douglas said.Since stepping into a haymaker that laid his ass out in the first 38 seconds of his MMA debut, Morton has fallen off the face of the earth. He refused to take a post fight drug test...apparently forgetting that he took a test the day before the fight. They frown on this and he is indefinitely suspended and the $100,000 he was to get for his time is being held."We've heard no phone call, no letter, no n...

Byron Leftwich and David Garrard are saying that they have been warned of Daunte Culpepper being brought in for a visit."Anytime you have a quarterback of Daunte's caliber, it's smart to look into it, especially with me having one year left on my contract," Leftwich said. Bill Walsh made a stop by Raiders practice. How cool would that be? "It was important for me to get (Walsh) over here to practice," Kiffin said. "It's one thing to ask a question. It's another thing to have him watch practice and get some thoughts from him on what he's seeing out there and to spend more time with him obviously with some other questions. I've spent some time preparing for him." Tom Coughlin is tired of all the pissing and moaning of his players."Let's just play the game -- talk is cheap -- let's play the ...

Laurence Maroney is set to be the star back in New England. I like this kid. Reading this, it doesn't sound like he has a cocky bone in his body. J.T. O'Sullivan threw for four TD's in NFL Europe this weekend. How long before the Bears fans get wind of this and call for him to get Grossman's spot? Thomas Jones has been running with a chip on his shoulder since the Bears drafted Cedric Benson. Makes me wonder how that chip is going to make him run in New York since the Bears traded him away. The Raiders are going to be playing more of a "left safety and right safety" defensive backfield than the traditional "strong safety and free safety" sort. Kellen Winslow is taking the Shoeless Joe approach to practice. Technorati : bears, browns, football, jets, maroney, nfl, o'sullivan, patriots, ...

Giving up a day off is not such a bad thing when your Kendrick Clancy. After being cut by the Cards he is straight to work with the Saints."I really don't have any time off, so I'm just going straight into the workouts," Clancy said after practice Monday. "Coming in, they give me this playbook and say you need to know this by Monday. It's cool though. I'm playing catch-up. I guess they're not going to just put me in the fire just like that. I'll get it."It was no fun when (the Cardinals) came to me and said to either take a pay cut or you're going to get released. I didn't want to take a pay cut to be out there. The NFL is exploring new ways to cash in on Digital Media...including it's own TV Console in the future. In non-Culpepper news, the Dolphins are impressed with their new return man, Ted Ginn Jr. This could be the break out year for Vernon Davis if he can stay out of the healing room. Rumor has it that Michael Vick's name first came up after a Texas murder. After a "disappointing" season, Jake Delhomme has the pressure of the team performing and David Carr lurking with the clipboard. Yes folks...there are expectations in Houston. | Culpepper joins "As the QB World Turns" |
| 2007-06-09 07:15:08 |
It was just a couple weeks ago when Daunte Culpepper talked about how he didn't worry about things like new QB's coming in. That was shortly after the Fins used a 2nd round pick on a QB.So let's recap the last week for C-Pep. He was given the green light to take his knee on the practice field on Monday. Tuesday those trade talks for Trent Green finally came to a head. As no surprise Daunte was told on Wednesday he was going to be traded. Culpepper, who doesn't worry about things like that, told the team on Thursday he would like to be released. He isn't going to go easy. Although understanding about the business side of the situation, Culpepper feels slighted by the Dolphins here. He makes a very good point in our opinion addressing it on Thursday."I mus...

I suggested a week or so ago that if they wanted to be taken seriously prosecuting Mike Vick they needed someone not named Poindexter. The Feds have moved in and stole Poindexter's thunder. How is he supposed to make his "bones" if someone else is digging them up?"This comes as a shocker to me," Poindexter said. "That's the thing that's so strange, that they've taken such an interest in this. Michael Vick is so big, I guess they want in, too. They want some of this limelight. It's like someone wants to make their bones (reputation) on this case."Tom Brady is knocking his new WR's down a little bit. It sounds as if he doesn't want people to think these guys are going to "save" the Pats. If I was Tom and didn't like the spotlight on my personal life I would let them have it."You hear so much...

He is expected to be back by training camp."I kind of feel discouraged a little bit because I want to show the coaches what I can do and you can't show them what you can do when you're hurt," Meachem said Wednesday. It appears that the "bad" Peyton Manning portrayed on Saturday Night Live could be a model for a former Colts QB.Jack Trudeau, who was a QB with the Colts from 1986 to 1993, was busted for partying with the teenagers. Hey Jack, no good can come from this. Ask Mark Chumura what kind of nasty things were written on the walls in the local high school.Apparently Jack has watched too many TV cop shows where the crook says "You don't have a warrant" and the cops go away. The cops that showed up to his party went and got one when he pulled that card. What did they find?"A warrant was obtained, and police later charged Trudeau with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
