The Daily Sports Vent
Sports are year round events that capture the hearts and minds of many people world wide. I have found that my thoughts tend to differ from those of most \"professional sports analysts\". I have created this blog to be able to express my opinions as well as view the views of everyone else.

Baseball fines Joe West
2010-05-28 18:50:00
Well its about time West got his due. Now no idea how much the fine was, but it was announced that he was fined. Keep in mind, this is over his actions from the game the other day, in which he ejected Guillen and Buehrle. If I had to guess, baseball must have figured that West helped to antagonized Guillen, and I'm sure the fact that he was seeking out reporters with the intentions to talk about ...

NHL announces next years outdoor games
2010-05-28 18:44:00
In next years Winter Classic it will be Sid the Kid's Penguins taking on the Capitol in Heinz Field, on New Years day. This will Sid's second outdoor game as he played in the first outdoor game back in Buffalo during a snow storm, which was pretty cool might I add. The NHL will also have a second outdoor game this year, which will be held on Feb 20th. The game will be between the Flames and ...

Raiders file grievance against Russell
2010-05-28 18:29:00
The saga continues for Russell and the Raiders. To add insult to injury after being released, the Raiders are now seeking to reclaim almost $10million back from Russell. The money they are looking to reclaim are salary advances for the 2010-2012 seasons. Russell's agent responded earlier to the Raiders grievance: "The money in question was fully guaranteed. That is why JaMarcus was forced to ...

Gored bullfighter recovering as expected
2010-05-27 10:31:00
So, I still can't believe I forgot to post about this when it happened last week. For those who never heard anything about it, Spanish bullfighter Julio Aparicio was gored through the throat, and out the mouth on Friday during a match, or whatever you call it. [More] ...

Umpires are at it again
2010-05-26 13:39:00
This is getting fricken ridiculous. I as I have said many times, am sick of Umpires screwing over games, and just being horrible, and embarrassing the game. And then having Baseball, always back the umpires and basically telling the players screw you. Well within less then 24hrs, we now have 2 cases of umpires again wanting to get their name in the papers. [More] ...

2014 Super Bowl will be in the new Giants/Jets Stadium
2010-05-25 15:50:00
Wow, turns out it happened, though many had already believed it would. Its about time the NFL gets back to its old roots. Years back, the championship game was always played in the North, in fact, who hasn't seen footage of the ice bowl from years back? I always found myself thinking how unfair, and stupid it was that the same stadiums kept getting the Super Bowl, over and over. Finally the ...

Michigan punishes itself for violating NCAA rules
2010-05-25 15:43:00
Just in case people have forgotten, Michigan was being investigated for possibly violating practice time rules, and coaching activities. Many former players had come forward to say that they practiced sometimes twice what the NCAA allows in a day, and Michigan disputed this tooth and nail. Well turns out they now admit they were in violation, and decided to punish themselves. They claim its due ...

David Ortiz is not only fat, but slow
2010-05-25 15:36:00
I remember reading earlier in the year, a poll by ball players, who said that A-Rod was the slowest to round the bases after a home run. I then remember later in that week, watching Ortiz hit a home run, and practically walk around the bases, without anyone saying a word. Well turns out, he is officially the slowest around the bases this year, in fact, out of the 6 slowest home run trots this ...

Nyjer Morgan makes bone headed play of the week
2010-05-22 21:46:00
So we have all seen bone head plays, most of the time they are unintentional, other times they are because the player was stupid, and other times its simply that the player didn't understand what happened. Well on Saturday, Morgan was going back on a ball hit by Orioles Adam Jones, he got near the wall, and went to catch it, the ball hit his glove and bounced out. Well Morgan threw his glove down ...

Favre confirms he had ankle surgery
2010-05-22 21:37:00
Why wont this topic just die. I am so sick of the on going saga of Favre and whether or not he will retire, or wont retire. I am just flat out sick of it, and I was getting very excited when he was told he needed surgery to play again. It seemed as if he wouldn't want to get the surgery, and he would finally call it quits. Sadly however, Favre has come out and admitted that he got the surgery ...
