From MLB Trade Rumors:There's no shortage of interest in Grady Sizemore this offseason. The free agent outfielder has drawn interest from eight teams, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. The Cubs, Rangers, Giants and Yankees are potential suitors for Sizemore, along with the Phillies, Rockies, Red Sox and Indians.A few years ago he was one of the best center fielders in the game, but since knee injuries have kept the 29-year-old mostly on the DL for the last few years. Knee injuries to players whose game is based a lot on speed scare me and I have little confidence that he can regain his old form. Swisher is also signed through next year so I don't really see any need to sign another outfielder who isn't going to be (or won't want to be) a bench player.

Third-basemen Alex Rodriguez told the New York Post a couple days ago that the Yankees have already made two HUGE acquisitions: 1) re-singing CC, and 2) re-acquiring Alex Rodriguez.
I know what you're thinking - "re-acquire" A-Rod? Isn't he already on the team? Well that's basically what he told Joel Sherman.
“The Yankees made two big moves this offseason,” Rodriguez told The Post by phone. “Keeping CC, and I expect to be who I have been in the past.”
That is Rodriguez’s way of saying the Yankees are going to reacquire A-Rod, and not the 2011 version, which even Rodriguez could not sugarcoat much, calling it “close to embarrassing” and “the worst year of my career.”
No, Rodriguez is imagining being the 30-homer/100-RBI automaton he was the previous 14 seasons. He expects to be a cleanup hitter because he should be, not due to emeritus status. He envisions being a reason why the Yankees push forward in October and not — like in 2011 — a reason they do ...

From Joey Nowak:Braves closer Craig Kimbrel and Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson received high honors for their outstanding first full seasons in the Major Leagues on Monday, as they were named the winners of this year's Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Awards.
Kimbrel, 23, won the National League's award and was the seventh member of the Braves -- and fifth in the Atlanta era -- to do so. Hellickson joined teammate Evan Longoria to become the second player in Tampa Bay team history to be recognized as the American League's top rookie. Kimbrel, who set a Major League record for saves by a rookie with 46, was the favorite for the award. His saves total led the NL, and he finished with a 2.10 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 77 innings for Atlanta, which just nearly missed out on the playoffs after a late-season slide.

From the NY Daily News:“I just saw that about an hour ago and I’m not going to miss him,” Yankee ace CC Sabathia said while at the kickoff party for his “CC Challenge” charity scavenger hunt Saturday. “He’s a great pitcher and he was good for them. It just makes the Phillies that much better.

Earlier in the week it was reported on MLB Trade Rumors that the Phillies talks with their now former closer, Ryan Madson, fell through and that they were interested in the former Red Sock.
For the Sox, who obviously didn't feel like Papelbon was worth the money will now either hand the job over to Daniel Bard or look to sign one of the available closers. That list includes many quality arms, including Heath Bell, Jonathan Broxton, Matt Capps, Francisco Cordero, Frank Francisco, Ryan Madson, Joe Nathan, Jon Rauch, and Francisco Rodriguez.

"It's not gonna happen," Posada said Wednesday night at a Manhattan function for The Jorge Posada Foundation. "I don't think there is even a percentage of a chance that I can come back."
The free agent says he's not bitter with the organization he has played for his entire career. He said five or six teams have shown interest in his services.
"I will always be a Yankee. The New York Yankees, for me, is my second family," Posada said. "It'd be tough to put on another uniform for real and learn a new set of rules. But it's one of those things where I have to see if I wanna keep playing."

From Mark Feinsand:C.J. Wilson is considered the best pitcher on the free agent market in most circles. Yet, when it comes to fitting inside the often hectic Yankees’ universe, several Major League talent evaluators believe Mark Buehrle might be the better fit.
“If you are looking for value, it’s Buehrle because the Yankees have CC Sabathia and aren’t looking for an ace,’’ an AL Central evaluator said of the 32-year-old Buehrle, who finished a four-year, $56 million deal with the White Sox this season.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman has spoken briefly with representatives for Roy Oswalt, Edwin Jackson and Wilson, and plans to contact Jeff Berry, who represents Buehrle.

Since Brian Cashman said last week that pitching will be the Yankees' top priority, the GM has talked with Bob Garber, who represents C.J. Wilson and Roy Oswalt, and Scott Boras, Jackson's agent.Not a big fan of Jackson's. I'd rather the Yankees spend the extra coin on a guy like Wilson or even Darvish if their scouts liked what they saw.
