NBA Overtime - a Jeff Sack Original
2011-06-12 14:21:15
Apparently out to prove the old adage "a good man is hard to find," my big brother, Jeff Singular Sack, played blog hopscotch recently until he landed at NBA Overtime. In fact, JSS created, writes and edits the site, finally giving free reign to his off-the-cuff, on-the-mark, passionate NBA thoughts....

Al Jolson, 3-in-one Jello and the NBA Playoffs
2011-04-25 19:24:22
Somehow, watching the Knicks on Sunday triggered memories of Al Jolson, my mother's carrots and watching my brother go 10 for 10 at the free throw line in the backyard. It all ties together, I promise....

Short Pants and Clumsy Reindeer
2011-04-06 18:30:53
Small problem. I’m being held hostage over at Farmville. My little plot of land has taken over my life. When I’m not harvesting crops, baking green mocha cakes, petting my Clumsy Reindeers and reassuring them about the surrounding baby elephants, I’m hoping my mystery seedling will grow into a giant Caramel Apple tree and I can collect enough shovels to bring home another Miner Sheep (complete with gas mask).
Today my MAC intervened, slowing the connection to a crawl and forcing me to wander off the farm and back into real life. That’s when I saw this headline:...

Catching Up With Kellex
2011-03-27 14:20:16
Kellen (Kellex) Barranger, the man who accused me of trying to destroy BallHype and then took the time to mentor me so I could actually contribute, wrote and edited le basketbawl when our paths first crossed three years ago.
Kellex was always cutting edge. While I was trying to figure out the HTML code for blue font, Kellex was creating The Sports Dollar Blog, determined to help bloggers earn money for their efforts....

Hopping the Pond

The BBC is not the first media outlet that comes to mind when the NBA is mentioned. But David Stern is getting serious and the BBC likes serious. London is about to welcome its first NBA games as the Raptors and the Nets roll into town on Friday night. Why London? Get used to these next three words - the BBC reports:...

Asleep in the Snow
2011-02-27 19:01:28
Narcolepsy? Zen student? Former Cav Eric Snow always said he wanted to be a commentator when he grew up. The Sixers gave him a shot and apparently he lost a lot of sleep in the process. From FanShots:...

My Orange Duffel Bag
2011-02-20 12:29:01
Almost forgot - put up a post over at The Cleveland Fan about My Orange Duffel Bag. Sam Bracken’s story of growing up alternatively abused and neglected, only to find salvation in football, only to have his knee blow out the summer before college is an inspiring read....

The Revolution of Basketball
2011-02-16 07:32:15
No stranger to revolution, the invention of basketball in 1891 changed the world of sports forever. Basketball, continually evolving to keep pace with players’ abilities, also prides itself on community involvement. Nike ran a commercial in the 90s placing the burden of social revolution squarely on the shoulders of gentle Joe Smith (a future Cleveland Cavalier), Jason Kidd, Kevin Garnett, Jimmy Jackson and Eddie Jones, in an attempt to soften the trash-talking, bad boy image of the NBA....
