I found this on the UNGL(UNFL) site: The United National Gridiron League is entering an exciting new phase marching towards a January 25, 2009, kickoff. We will be unveiling our inaugural eight franchise locations and ownership groups over the course of the next few weeks. In addition to this, you may notice that our team logos have been taken down as we prepare for the announcement of our eight teams. As they reappear, you will begin to see which logos will kickoff the inaugural 2009 season. During this time, we will also begin to announce the specific logos that are assigned to each team.The inaugural 2009 season will begin with eight teams but the business model for the league is built to support 22 teams. Well to stop confusion between leagues the league has changed its name . The new league name is United National Gridiron League (UNGL). This is just a new name its not a new league!! Soon we will be changing the name of the website. It will be United National Gridiron League 101. I dont know if I will change the link name. I will tell you before hand....

I was reading a story and uncovered some news. First bit is that the UNFL is talking with Alabama to but a franchise in Birmingham. 2nd bit is that owners and team cities will be named within the next 30 days. So get ready for news! The Commissioner of the UNFL was announced today!! My source was right when he said the commissioner could be a former NFL player. The new UNFL commissioner is---- Joe Cribbs. Cribbs was a All Pro Runningback for the Buffalo Bills. He also joined the USFL. Cribbs said this: "We feel that our league will give them the opportunity to see players over a longer period of time(for the NFL)" I like this move. This move makes sense because he seems to really know what the league is about. TV deal news: Marvin Tomlin said they have been in talks with the NFL Network. This is huge for the league. This will add needed publicity. Costs of Franchises: For any rich person reading this franchises only cost 1.5 million dollars....

The announcement of the League commissioner is coming tomorrow!! This is a sign that the league is really getting off. This could also be a sign that the league is close to signing all there teams. Rumor-From a source close to the league: The commissioner could be a former NFL star. This would make alot of sense. The league would get alot of publicity and a former NFL player helping a league trying to become a NFL minor league. There has been 3 teams sold according to UNFL.com. We know 2 teams are in Texas. But the other one is a mystery. I think its in New York. But there are also 8 other cities talking with the UNFL. I will try to get the answer on the 3rd city. I will also try to get the answer on what dates will be used to announce what cities....
