As it turns out, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Paul Sullivan reports this morning that it looks like ARam might be in better shape than was speculated yesterday:
DENVER - An MRI of Aramis Ramirez's right wrist Thursday showed some fluid buildup but no structural damage.
For the Cubs, the news was about as good as they could expect.
"There's no tear, no break," manager Lou Piniella said. "I don't know exactly how long he'll be out, but it's not a DL [situation]."
Ramirez received a cortisone injection to alleviate the discomfort and likely will sit out the Colorado series, giving him seven full days of rest, including the last two games in Houston and Monday's day off.
Thank God for small miracles. In less encouraging news, Lou is trying to rein in Fonzie, who has an eye towards a quick return to action:
