| Tiana is still sick and has been absent 3 days in a row | | 2008-05-01 11:26:59 | | Tiana had to absent for the 3rd time this week. We couldn't send her to school being sick like she is. She has been vomiting off and on, and couldn't eat much because she will only throw up again. We don't know what is wrong with her, because she just went to bed one night and vomited early the next morning. She vomited the food she ate, and now still couldn't eat a lot. | | EA Offers Refund for Medal of Honor's Absent Online Play - SendMeRSS | | 2008-02-12 14:48:49 | | EA Offers Refund for Medal of Honor's Absent Online Play EA is offering a refund to anyone who purchased the Wii version of Medal of Honor Heroes 2 in Australia who was disappointed to learn that the game lacks online functionality. EA removed the online play from the game and, oopsie, kind of forgot to mention it to anyone, including the folks who designed the game's cover, which indicated that online was an included feature. So did the instruction manual. So did EA's website. EA admitted the documentation errors, apologized for any confusion their mistake may have created for consumers, and offered to give folks their money back. All of which is exactly the right thing to do, but why'd they take the online out in the first place? IGN speculates that the company would need to run local servers to cut down on lag, and decided they'd rather not. EA Australia, meanwhile, "do not wish to comment." | | Absent Friends | | 2007-12-28 17:07:00 | | I think about my best friend who I lost over 10 years ago, he is sometimes in my dreams as if he had never died and when I ask him about it, he acts slightly strange and says it was all a mistake but I know this is my way of dealing with the grief even after so long, he would be 31 now. | | By: My Single Sentence Life | | |
| | Wariner's Name Conspicuously Absent from National Championships 400m Entrants' List | | 2007-06-12 06:50:00 | | I've been keeping an eye on the list/status of entries at the USATF National Championships page because one name has been conspicuously absent from it: Jeremy Wariner. His name did finally show up on the list tonight, but not where you'd expect it to be. He has submitted an entry for the men's 200m, not the men's 400m.Wariner stated early this season that he plans on defending his 400m World Championship title in Osaka, Japan this August. Since the U.S. National Championships are the gateway to the World Championships for American athletes, wouldn't you expect for Wariner to submit an entry for the 400m, or perhaps for both events? What's going on here? Is Wariner exempt, maybe, because he's the defending World Champion? Well, that's true for the selection processes of some countries, but not for the U.S. team. Here's the pertinent rule from the Selection Procedures page on the USATF website:"In order to qualify for the World Championships Team, athletes must compete at the 20 | | By: Finish Line Pundit: A Track & Field Blog | | |
| | T.O. Glenn and Others Absent From Voluntary Camps | | 2007-06-01 18:55:53 | | Much like other players across the NFL, Terrell Owens, Terry Glenn, DeMarcus Ware, Roy Williams and Julius Jones have reportedly missed some or all of the “Organized Training Activities” at Valley Ranch, CA. Tony Romo had time to attend though, after his Miss Universe judging duties were over in Mexico. It will be interesting to see the reaction, if any, from new head coach, Wade Phillips. While he is generally known as a “players’ coach”, it has to be somewhat disturbing to have so many of his key players not present during all-important reps with the first team offense and defense. Other players have faced some type of backlash for missing these OTA’s thus far, even though they aren‘t mandatory.
While it remains to be seen what Coach Phillips will do, it is very disturbing to know that these highly paid professionals would choose not to try to spend every effort to learn and work with the team at this early but critical time. The key word in all of this is “ | | By: NFL GridIron Gab | | |
| | Absent note from my therapist | | 2007-05-21 06:12:09 | | To whom it may concern:
Tamiki is napping right now. He is currently taking one anti-depressant (celexa), one anti-psychotic (abilify), and a non-benzodiazepine sedative (ambien). He used to be on a benzodiazepine twenty times stronger than valium (klonopin), but had a terrible reaction to it. (edit from tamiki: the reaction felt really good )
He also has finals, and thus will not be able to write anything funny. Please be understanding of his situation, and allow him to make up his work.
Tamiki is also wondering if interior design decorators who specialize in ergonomic design ever misplace their keys like the rest of the industrialized world.
Sincerely,
Robin Williams from Good Will Hunting (even though Tamiki is not a genius)
