Making the AdSense Ads suit your website is an easy job that can really enhance the effectiveness of your AdSense Ads (and hence increase the AdSense revenue for you). The four properties that contribute towards making the AdSense Ads look in-place on your website are – size, shape, color and positioning of the Ads. Google AdSense program can reap even richer dividends for you if you are able to attract more visitors to your website and if you are able to prompt them to take action (i.e. click on the AdSense Ads). Google disallows statements that ask the visitors to click on the AdSense Ads. In fact, Google AdSense Ads are to be marked in some way as advertisements. However, there are other authentic ways of getting the clicks on your AdSense Ads.Besides the copy and quality content, you can also improve th

How to Display More Targeted AdSense Ads on Your Blog
    2008-05-16 16:43:00
In the past, your typical blogger would be content enough just having their own blog. But now, bloggers in general are becoming more knowledgeable with ways to monetize their blog and with the availability of free information on the web, they do a decent job.For example, how many blogs do you read these days that actually don’t have some sort of advertising on it? Not many and for good reason. Why not try and make some money since you spend all this time writing and blogging, right?Secondly, how many blogs have you come across where the AdSense advertisement is not at all relevant to the blog’s theme or content? Some of them are actually pretty funny if you read the ads. Here’s an ad that actually showed up on eBlog Templates next to one of the template pages. Can anyone tell my who would be interested in buying “Birds Trees” (what are birds trees anyhow??) from a site that provides templates and other resources for bloggers? Now, if the template page this ad was

Tips for Reviewing and Filtering AdSense Ads
    2008-05-14 08:17:00
Tips for Reviewing and Filtering AdSense AdsBy Cody MoyaThe process by which the Google AdSense program reviews and filtersads for their participating sites is a semi-automated one. Googlehas put in place strict policies for the content of its ads, including bans on profanity and racially discriminatory content. These types of ads are automatically filtered out and will not beincluded on any participating site.In addition to this automatic ad filtering, owners of participatingsites are free to block ads they or their visitors may findoffensive. This filtering is done through the use of customfilters, and it is somewhat different than simply blocking a singleadvertiser (although that is possible as well). These filters aregenerally easy to use, and Google provides good assistance to theirmember sites in order to ensure only wanted ads are posted on themember sites.Although it happens quite rarely, there are times that Google'sautomated algorithms for determining web site content are no

How to Blend Adsense Ads with Your Website
    2007-11-30 22:23:00
Adsense is a wonderful opportunity for you to generate additional income for your website. It doesn’t cost you anything is the best part! Adsense is also very simple. You have to complete an application with Google and be accepted to host advertisements for other businesses. Then you simply add lines of code to the html on the pages of the website where you are willing to have advertisements. With that all in place, how do you blend the Adsense Ads into your website so they don’t stick out like a sore thumb? You don’t want them to distract the consumer from what you are offering on your website. You may not be aware of it, but you have a lot of say in how the advertisements are placed on your website including the placement, format, color, and style. There are many places on a website to put Adsense Ads. Some prefer to place it on the top of the page and others like the bottom of the page. Along either side of the text for your website is convenient too. Since we read from left to right, the right side is more common as it will attract attention as the eyes move across the page. According to Google Adsense, the most effective location is at the top of the page because the entire ad can be seen. Often parts of it are hidden when on the sides unless the mouse is used to scroll over the information. This can be distracting to the consumer and lose the effectiveness of the advertisement. They also recommend using different colors for the ads to differentiate it from your website materials, but to use colors that compliment each other. The format can be modified to make it different or the same as your website. Some advertisement hosts like everything to be in the same style and size to give a symmetrical look to the pages. Others like to have their information completely distinct from the advertisements. Both are effective so it is only a matter of personal preference as to how you want your website to appear. Colors including the background can be changed to make e

Can You Choose Your AdSense Ads?
    2007-10-04 10:19:42
By Joel CommAdSense delivers great click-throughs and high revenues for one reason: the ads are targeted to what the user wants. Google's robot picks out keywords on your page, gets a grip on what your website is about and delivers links that take users to sites that interest them. That's great news... up to a point. As much as you want your users to click on ads that look interesting, you might not want to trust to a robot to pick those ads - and you might prefer to have ads on your page that pay the highest amount possible for each click. But you don't get the choice. You can do lots of things to improve your AdSense revenue, from selecting the layout of your ad unit to choosing the color and size of the font, but one thing you can't do is slip into Google's database and choose the ads. If you could do that, no one would ever choose the low-paying ads. That doesn't mean you can't do anything at all though. The fact is, some smart publishers have been noticing all sorts of interesting results after playing with their HTML code and changing some of the text on their Web page. And some of those results have been very surprising indeed. For example, some publishers have found that placing keywords in certain positions on the page can have an immediate effect on the ads served. The owner of a site about recreation vehicles then would be able to do a little research online to find the highest paying keywords in his area and then - if he knew where those hotspots were - he could place those keywords in the right areas on the page. In addition to the usual ads about camper vans and RV's that his site would receive, the publisher could be certain that at least one of the ads was the highest paying possible. That's the sort of knowledge that's worth money in your pocket. Why some areas of a Web page should be more important than others is a mystery well kept by Google's programmers. But some of Google's ad secrets are leaking out - and they're being snapped up by sm

Google Adsense - Ads That Make You Money!
    2007-08-16 01:20:00
One of the main reasons for its popularity, is the fact that the Google Adsense program is incredibly accurate. By stepping beyond the boundaries of simple keyword matching, it has quickly become one of the most prominent tools to display accurate advertisements. A list of keywords is still used as the basis of triggering ads, but complex algorithms now ensure that non-relevant ads no longer show up on your site.Google Adsense also gives you the option to be selective about the type of ads you wish to display. This helps you direct your visitors towards certain type of products and avoid non-relevant or competitor ads. To make it possible for everyone to integrate Adsense into their sites, the program offers a wide variety of settings that allow you to alter the ads' size and appearance.

Does Showing Fewer AdSense Ads Lead to Higher Earnings?
    2007-07-29 01:18:00
When AdSense first appeared, publishers could only place a single ad unit on a page. (Yes, I’ve been using AdSense for that long!) That restriction was later relaxed to allow up to three ad units per page. (See Chapter 22: Know the Program Policies.) As you can imagine, many publishers immediately added two more ad units to their pages. Assuming each ad unit was showing four ads (the maximum allowed), that meant that up to 12 ads were being shown on a given page. But is that the right thing to do? Does each ad unit you add make you more money?

Background Image For Your Adsense Ads
    2007-02-25 23:06:03
Last night, I was playing around with my blog’s template when an Idea came out of my sleepy brain. Lucky for me. It might be the sleepy condition that made me think of it. The idea was to give a background image to my adsense code which is by now already up and running. You have been greeted by it when my blog loads up in your internet browser. It looks like a teared up notepad with Google ads on it. At first, I thought that this customization might not comply to Google TOS. So, I surfed the internet and found out that this idea is actually not new. ( No big deal… It’s a big world after all. ) There are some sites that use it and also providing the background such as adsensebackgroundimages.com. They also confirmed that its usage is not breaking Google TOS. Good news. So, this is how to make it: First, you need to know the dimension of the ads that you are going to use. In my case I use a 336×280 text ads. You also have to know the background color valu
