| Yureekah: Competitive Intelligence for Online Brand Advertisers | | 2008-05-10 14:49:34 | | Currently in private alpha Yureekah has launched a free competitive intelligence tool that allows media planners to figure out where is competition advertising on the internet and allow them to plan their campaigns to counter them. For example this search of Chevrolet in the picture confirmed me that Chevrolet is advertising on Yahoo India however I have only an hour ago seen the Chevrolet ad on Rediff also which this tool missed which shows that Yureekah still needs to be ironed out.The site is limited to 4 countries India,USA,UAE,UK and only for display advertising which is the domain of big brand advertising and doesn't support contextual advertising. Yureekah is targeted at advertisers, media agencies, and small and medium sized business owners. The Monetization of Yureekah is to be done in future with the launch of more in depth services maybe.Devaraj Southworth, one of the creators of Yureekah said the idea stemmed from his own company's needs. And all this have not escaped the eyes of advertisers and they are always on the look out for getting some attention from the Bloggers and that is were payperpost comes in the picture. payperpost is unique and I believe the only website which is acting as match maker for such opportunities.I came across payperpost soon after I started my blog and since then I have been writing some sponsored blog every now and then. Even though my blog is very specialized, I do find a few opportunities occasionally and little bit of revenue from such sponsored post gives you a good incentive to take look at some of the products and services.I just like everything about payperpost, right from the home page to registration to take opportunity to write a post and to getting paid for the post. The great thing about payperpost is that they do not interfere at all in your content and you will pretty much write your honest opinion. | | My Best PPC Advertisers | | 2007-10-11 10:06:40 | | When choosing a PPC advertiser, they all have their Pro’s and Con’s. Most publishers care about the bottom line: how much money can each one make. In this article I will be ranking in order the most common PPC networks by how profitable they are for webmasters and bloggers.Ranking of most profitable PPC advertisers:Google Adsense: - Google Adsense is definitely the biggest PPC earner across the board. Google adsense has the most advertisers and therefore their keyword bids are usually the most profitable for web publishers. Their strict TOS, and measures against click fraud, leads me to think is another large reason why they are the most profitable of all of the PPC advertising networks. This can be good for advertisers moreso then web publishers because they know they are less likely to be spending money on frequent click fraud.Another reason why Google adsense is so profitable is because they are contextual, meaning the ads they serve up automatically are relevant to the page text they are on. Google Adsense ads seem to also be clicked on more then other PPC advertisers. I speculate that this is because they are so commonly used by publishers that people are more likely to “trust” or notice the ads and want to click on them. Yahoo Publisher Network: This is very similiar in structure to Google Ads. Most users report it pays less due to it’s poor contextual targeting compared to adsense. The poor targeting results in lower click through rate and hance lower earnings overall. Unfortunately, YPN has been in beta forever and it is hard to get and stay in the program. Yahoo wants quality sites in their network for now while it’s still in beta. They have strict standards for staying in their program based on the quality of traffic you get. According to YPN the standards for staying in good standing with them is based on:1. Suspicious click activity.2. Advertiser conversion rates.3. Overall quality of leads generated on your site. So, there really is no reason to use Yahoo in it’s beta form, unless you have been banned permanently from Google Adsense (or worry that putting adsense on certain sites may put your adsense account in jeapordy due to click-fraud sabatoge). Not to mention, YPN is a non-starter for many, since it’s only open to U.S citizens while it is currently in beta.Bidvertiser: After trying other PPC networks, I was dissapointed for different reasons on each one(lack of ad targeting, ad quantity, ad choices, or low click bids). Bidvertiser, based on my experience, seems to be one of the better advertising networks out there beyond YPN and adsense. They are not contextual advertising, but instead they give you “generic” PPC ads based on the category you picked to describeyour website. Then once your website is approved by them, advertisers will start bidding on your site for PPC ads beyond these “generic ads”. Supposedly, this bidding will increase your revenue. I have only been using it for a short while, so I can’t tell you for certain if in fact, it does increase profits in the long run. The one major con of bidvertiser is that it is not contextual, so click through rate won’t be as good as adsense. It also doesn’t have as good of a click payout rate as adsense or YPN. To help improve click rate, you can pick and choose which ads you want displayed, when 3rd parties start to bid ads on your site. If YPN and Adsense are non-starters for you, for whatever reason, then I would try Bidvertiser next to see how it does for your site.RevenuePilot: This is another non-contextual PPC network. You get to choose your own keywords for each ad. By keeping on top of checking the current keyword bid prices ( they are the only ones that I know of that show this info), you can get fairly decent pay per click rates. The big problem with RevenuePilot is the click through rate and lack of advertisers. On a large header banner there will only be one advertiser that fills up the ad, often not even targeted that well for the keyword you picked. I ran revenuepilot on my site for a month and was dissapointed by the click rate. I sometimes would sometimes go well over a thousand impressions straight, before getting just one click. RevenuePilot also does not count clicks from countries outside of U.S, U.K, Canada, Australia making the click rate even worse. KonteraThis is different from the previous networks mentioned in this article. Kontera is “inline text” contextual advertising. It will put a double underlined link under some of the words in your content. It will look very similiar to a regular link. If someone hovers a mouse over it, a little contextual ad popup will show. Earnings are reported on the low end, like most alternative PPC networks. While Google now allows Kontera, if you are running Google adsense, there is no reason to use Kontera too. You would just be having users click on much lower paying ads instead, which obviously you don’t want. Plus I think having ad links inside your content, in my opinion, is kind of trashy looking anyways. I’m not a big fan of the idea of inline text ads like Kontera, so I put Kontera towards the bottom of my recommendations.Adbrite: I used adbrite for 6 months. I didn’t know any better at the time because it was my first PPC network and I heard the horror stories about Google Adsense. My opinion is they are probably the worst paying PPC network out of the entire internet. Their pay per click rates are absolutely pathetic. They have direct advertising purchasing options, but those are rare to get, and they don’t usually pay that great either. They also don’t seem to care about keeping a strict measure against click fraud and junk traffic, making them terrible for even potential advertisers too.Other PPC networks: Most of the others have either very high requirements in traffic, or aren’t any more profitable than some of the PPC advertisers mentioned towards the end of this post. | | By: gainproof | | |
| | How to Make Your Blog Attractive to Advertisers and Traditional Media | | 2007-08-02 04:02:47 | | Originally online journals used for recording and sharing personal perspectives, blogs have gradually become an established form of online media.
Mini-hubs of social interaction, blogs have gained an interested audience derived from a smörgåsbord of keywords, communities, interests and demographics.
They have evolved into platforms allowing traditional media and businesses to reach communities hitherto immune to their advertising efforts. Because of their strong integration with niche communities, blogs are also becoming an invaluable part of any viral marketing or promotional campaign.
The Value of Blogs as Advertising Platforms
A recent analysis of the advertising revenue earned by bloggers in 2006 examines the rising value of blogs as advertising platforms. Utilizing data from Chitika’s network of 12,000 blogs and Technorati’s ranking system, several conclusions were reached:

| | 4 Easy Ways to Get Advertisers on Your Site | | 2007-07-24 14:31:00 | | Pump up your profit margin with these simple tips for attracting advertisers.By Derek GehlIf you're just getting started on the internet--or simply looking for ways to add new revenue streams to your business--you might be considering accepting ads for other companies' products on your website.Who wouldn't like to make a few extra bucks without any effort? You just put up a few ads on your site and wait for the cash to roll in, right? Not necessarily. To make your site attractive to companies looking for ad space, you'll need to have a great niche market, tons of traffic and the promise of good ad placement on your site. However, if you don't have all these elements in place yet, there are still ways for you to make money from ads on your site. The easiest--and often the most successful--include:1. Promote an affiliate product on your site.Joining another company's affiliate program is one of the simplest ways to get started with internet advertising. While affiliate links aren't technically ads, they allow you to make money by promoting someone else's product. As an affiliate, you earn a commission each time someone you've referred makes a purchase. To encourage sales, you might post a banner on your site that links to the affiliate site or publish a newsletter article about their product.Different affiliate programs offer different payout options. Some might offer 10 percent commission for each sale, while others pay up to 50 percent of each sale. You'll want to shop around for the best deal for you and the best fit for your site. To find good affiliate programs, check out the following directories: * Associate Programs * Affiliates Directory * Refer-ItSome internet advertising pros are actually making all their income from signing on with multiple affiliate programs. They don't even have a product of their own! This isn't a strategy for beginners, however, so take some time to check out different programs before committing to this option.2. | | | BidVertiser for Advertisers | | 2007-06-08 01:05:11 | | BidVertiser is a category-based Pay-Per-Click advertising network and they seem to have a great grip on the industry - especially by ordering a review on this blog. They were also kind enough to offer a referral link, which gives anyone who signs up $20 in free clicks.
Overall, the site was great. The tabs were easy to read, recognize, and understand. I had no navigational problems what-so-ever. Because BidVertiser is category based, there is no contextual ad serving and thus it can be used other advertising networks like Google Adwords.
The category search feature worked great and displayed all applicable categories relating to “internet marketing”. I selected the categories I wished to see my advertisement run on and then continued to the next step.
Next, I added any geo-targeting or geographic modifiers to the campaign. I wanted quality English traffic, so I slected USA, Canada, and the UK. If I wanted cheaper traffic since those 3 geo-targeting segments usually | | By: Internet Marketing Blog | | |
| | Here’s a Quick, Easy and Compelling Way to Get More Advertisers for Your Website | | 2007-06-05 23:16:38 | | Copyright © Dosh Dosh (http://www.doshdosh.com) An effective way of making money from your website is to practice direct advertising sales or the sale of ad space to potential advertisers without the intervention of advertising brokers or middlemen.
Instead of relying on popular online marketplaces and networks which take a cut of your earnings, you focus on negotiating and acquiring advertisers directly for your websites.
I’m a strong advocate of direct ad sales and have written extensively about it in my beginner’s guide to direct advertising sales. This is something anyone can do for themselves and you don’t even need a terrifically popular website to get advertisers on board.
I don’t believe in giving a large percentage of your revenue to an ad broker because they seem to do so little but take so much. If you are new to this series, you may want to read my introduction to direct advertising sales.
In my previous post in this list, you’ve learned how to develop a ad marketing package to promote your ad space. Now in this post I will cover several methods you can use to easily find suitable advertisers for your website.
Before you send out your first email pitch to any advertiser, the most important thing to do is to get organized. You’ll need to find some way to keep track of advertiser contact details, while developing a system that allows you to follow up with your ad pitches.
I usually use a basic spreadsheet application like Excel to set up a simple table which consists of advertisers, their contact details as well as the date when I first made contact with the advertiser in question.
