| Rumored: Renault To Show New Alpine At Geneva | | 2008-02-21 06:25:00 | | Rumors say that Renault is preparing to launch an unspecified concept car at the upcoming Geneva show, alongside the new Koleos crossover. Patrick Pelata, the French automaker's product planning manager, confirmed that Renault is working on a new sportscar. "Think Mazda MX-5 or even Smart Roadster and you are on the right lines", said Pelata in a recent interview. As previous reports said the small roadster will have more content than the previous Renault Sport Spider and could feature a mid-mounted turbocharged engine driving the rear wheels. Reviving the Alpine name, the new model is also expected to be just first of a new lineup of sport cars that would capitalize on Renault's success in Formula One. Meanwhile marketing chief Stephen Norman revealed that the company is also working on a new flagship sedan positioned above the new Laguna set to target French rivals from PSA Peugeot-Citroen. We have just two weeks to see what Renault has for us in Switzerland this year.

We were pretty much used to the same Sedona Red and it's pretty cool to see other colors as well. This week, we showed you the latest official photos of the 135i coupe in a cashmere silver exterior and today, we're going to post some new photos from the Toronto Auto Show. It seems that BMW decided to drop the red colors and actually show us a different approach. The 135i looks pretty good in Alpine White and it will definitely be a popular choice. Now, I'm not so sure that I actually like the Red Coral interior. If you remember, back in 2007, we had an article about the "Superman" car. A rare and beautiful alpine buttercup with large yellow flowers has been identified in North Otago mountain ranges. Landcare Research botanist Dr Peter Heenan has named it Ranunculus acraeus1 . The genus Ranunculus includes buttercups, and acraeus means on high, a reference to its alpine habitat. The plants are up to half a metre across, and form numerous shoots with brilliant yellow blooms 4.5 cm wide.
