Are Fuel Filler Doors - Chrome, Aluminum, or Locking - Worthwhile?
    2008-06-30 11:30:26
It’s a classic muscle car look: the fat, brushed aluminum gas cap sitting high on the rear haunches, almost taunting the world with the fact that yes, this car uses a lot of gas, and yes, it’s because it makes a ton of horsepower. Muscle car designers originally took the idea from the racing fuel [...]

Guide to know about Aluminum Wiring
    2008-06-11 00:47:00
During the period from just about 1964 to the mid 1970s, numerous homebuilders and electricians used aluminum wiring instead of more expensive copper. Primarily, it was believed that aluminum was a suitable alternative for copper, however several years after it was introduced in the housing market it was implicated as the reason in numerous house fires. The cause of many of these fires was traced to failures at the points where the wire associated to receptacles and other devices on 15 and 20 amp household or small appliance circuits. Even though inappropriate wiring techniques were deemed to be the reason of some of the problems, the intrinsic physical characteristics of aluminum wire was a main factor.

    Seamless Aluminum Gutters
    2008-05-22 16:13:23
Last week I had seamless aluminum gutters installed on the garage. When the house was first built I had them installed on the main house but I skipped on the garage to save some money. The reason I decided to put them on the garage was really two fold. The first was to keep the water away from the garage and keep the water from destroying the garden alongside the garage. The second reason was, I plan on installing a couple of rain barrels at some point and the extra water will come in handy. Both times I've hired the same gutter contractor to do the work and they always do a nice job. I like seamless gutters for a couple of reasons. First off they don't leak at joints and they are much "tougher" in my opinion. Secondly when they are installed right they actually look like a piece of molding from the ground level at a distance. As you can see in the close up photo, the gutters are pretty strong after all the supports are screwed into the fascia board. Each of those horizontal supports is

    Aluminum Replacement Windows
    2008-04-01 12:05:09
Aluminum replacement windows, although more common in commercial properties than residential ones, do not require the same maintenance or painting as traditional wooden frames. But do not be confused about how aluminum replacement windows work. Normally there is a wooden frame for the interior, and then the exterior is covered with aluminum to protect it from the elements. There is still a normal glass window in the center, so you will not be staring at a large metal square.Because aluminum is stronger than wood, it gives more structural support for larger openings. Therefore if you would like bigger windows in your home, then aluminum might be the best way to go. And, as stated above, aluminum replacement windows can save you a tremendous amount of money since you will not need to repaint or repair them as you would wooden windows. However, aluminum tends to conduct the outside temperature indoors, meaning the heat and cold from outside will affect the temperature of your home. 2008-03-18 16:08:00
By Morgan Hamilton Do you have a laptop computer? If you do, then you should consider getting aluminum laptop cases. These products really come in handy if you often bring your laptop along with you on the road. You probably put a lot of information on your portable personal computer and put quite an investment in it. That is why it makes sense that you do your best to protect your laptop. You may also be thinking that investing aluminum laptop cases seem a little over the top. Well, I can't blame you because these products cost more than a few hundred bucks. In fact, a few of these products are even more expensive than refurbished laptop computers. But then again, you may rethink your outlook on this investment when you consider everything that goes into your portable PC.Many people are satisfied with using a simple soft case that offers adequate protection from casual daily use. The problem is that so much can happen when you take your computer on the road. It would be wise to invest

Hydrogen and Aluminum as a Fuel
    2007-05-19 22:49:00
Although this blog hasn't published a report on hydrogen power yet, it looks promising. Now a National Medal of Technology winner says he's "ready and able to start a revolution." Using hydrogen and aluminum as a fuel, an engine would be able to produce it's own energy without ever needing to fuel up. The best part? No CO2 emissions.http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18700750/The worst part? "The egos of program managers at DOE [Department of Energy] are holding up the revolution," he said.
