| Palestine: Peace not Apartheid by Jimmy Carter | | 2008-06-11 22:40:00 | | I've finally finished reading Jimmy Carter's book (left). It is definitely worth reading I would say. The book is written in an autobiography style based on Carter's experience in propagating peace in the Middle East as President of USA in late 70s to date.As a short review of the book, it is clear that it is the Zionist Israeli government (I shall mention Zionist Israelis here as there are a few minority group of peace loving Israeli citizen and Jewish rabbis who are against the Israel's imperialism policy in Occupied Palestine) who does not want to establish peace in the Holy land, because peace means; withdrawal of Israeli armed forces in the occupied Palestinian territories and the dismantling of the illegal settlement in Arab lands in occupied Palestinian territories. If this were to happen, it would halt the Zionist goal of creating a 'Greater Israel' comprising the current state of Israel plus the West Bank, including the whole of Jerusalem (Baitulmaqdis). The Palestinians and t | | By: books and coffee | | |
| | By: She´s Like The Wind | | |

The segregated schools phenomena that begin in Northern Ireland is migrating to mainland Britain. For all the moves towards political power sharing in Northern Ireland, just 5% of the province’s pupils attend integrated schools today:
many more will need to be opened to cope with growing demand.
despite ….
More than 800 pupils were turned away from integrated schools in September because there were not enough places to satisfy the parental clamour for Protestant and Catholic children to be educated side by side.
Writing on integrated schools in the Guardian last year, Roy Hattersley stated:
I met nobody, Protestant or Catholic, in the integrated school movement who referred to the state, or maintained, sector. They always said “Protestant schools”.
This means that kids can can reach the age of 18 without having a serious conversation with a member of another religion, a division that perpetuates sectarian bigotries and distrust. For years, the gover | | By: Robs Place | | |
| | UN urges South Africa to prosecute Apartheid torturers | | 2006-11-25 03:29:00 | | From www.news24.comGeneva - South Africa should put those suspected of torturing prisoners under apartheid on trial and pay compensation to victims, said a United Nations human rights body on Friday. While welcoming the work of SA's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), which probed apartheid era crimes, the UN committee against torture said "de facto impunity" persisted for those responsible for acts of torture. "(South Africa) should consider bringing to justice persons responsible for the institutionalisation of torture as an instrument of oppression to perpetuate apartheid," the committee said in its first report on SA. Its conclusions were issued at the end of a three-week meeting, at which its 10 independent experts examined the records of seven signatory countries to the 1984 anti-torture treaty - Burundi, Guyana, Hungary, Mexico, Russia, South Africa and Tajikistan.
