| | | Assassin's Creed | | 2007-12-10 23:10:00 | | A few weeks ago, my copy of Madden 08 for 360 decided to crap out totally and stop working and just freeze my console whenever I tried to sim computer games. This left me with nothing to play, so I went to GameSpot to see what the best Xbox game was that I didn't have, and it was Assassin's Creed..at least according to GameSpot.The game started off promisingly enough and I believed GameSpot was right in giving it a 9.0 rating. The graphics were beautiful, some of the brightest and most detailed I've yet to see on the 360. Game play was quite interesting, a combination of stealth assassination and button mashing melee combat. Perhaps the funnest part of the game is jumping and swinging about on rooftops. It's quite easy to run seamlessly along rooftops and quite fun as well. You go about performing certain tasks to get your missions to assassinate various slavers and merchant kings corrupting cities while the kings were away fighting the Third Crusade.The problem with Assassin's Creed arises after only a few hours with the game. Assassin's Creed becomes painfully repetitive. No matter how fun it is to jump from building to building or to quickly stab a Templar knight, you can only do the same thing so many times before you just really don't want to do it anymore. Plus, there are beggars that get in your way as you try to walk down the street that block your path and numerous shirtless retards that try to box you as you sneak by.Before you get bored with Assassin's Creed, it's a hell of a game. The only problem is, you will get bored, and you will get bored quickly, making it a difficult game to finish. Not because of difficulty, but because of repetitiveness. The following images are from the comic book based on Ubisoft's upcoming video game, Assassin's Creed (Warning: there's probably spoilers in there so proceed with caution):The comic comes with the pre-order pack of the game. Meaning, the game's not out yet and no one's supposed to see this yet. But thanks to Neogaf and some guy named 'sircuddles', we get a little taste of the comic book and perhaps the plot as well, and cause trouble for someone in Ubisoft.
