However, this reasoning does not guarantee that the panel will allow Atari to remain on the market.

Many of the publisher’s games have been added to the content delivery service, including Act of War, Desperados, Indigo Prophecy, RollerCoaster Tycoon and more. In the coming weeks, The Witcher, Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansion will also be added to the service. "Atari is excited to team up with Steam and deliver great games through a digital platform that our fans have asked for," said Nizzi Renaud, Vice President of Online Entertainment, Atari, Inc. "We look forward to making an extensive collection of games, across many genres, available to Steam's extensive, globally-connected community." | | Atari Asks for Extension on Infogrames Buyout Offer - SendMeRSS | | 2008-03-14 01:50:09 | | Atari Asks for Extension on Infogrames Buyout Offer Atari has informed its parent company, Infogrames, that it will not be able to respond the buyout offer made last week by the appointed deadline. Infogrames is the majority shareholder in Atari; its proposal offered to purchase the remaining stock for $1.68 a share. At the time of the offer, Atari announced that would be assembling a special committee to evaluate the offer. Atari has since hired Duff & Phelps LLC to help them sort through the financial pros and cons of accepting Infogrames' proposal, and is seeking an extension of the original deadline. Can there honestly be that much to discuss? Atari doesn't exactly have a lot of options at this point.See Also: Infogrames Offers to Buy Atari It's Official: Phil Harrison New Atari President Atari Exits Game Development, CEO Quits Atari: Hanging On By A Thread Atari Selling Off Internal Studios Atari Seeks Extension of Infogra... | | By: Online Games | | |

| Infogrames to buy Atari publicly held stock? - SendMeRSS | | 2008-03-07 22:54:58 | | Infogrames to buy Atari publicly held stock? The already parent company of Atari made an offer to buy all publicly held stock for the price of $1.68 per stock. This move would ensure that financial-troubled Atari wouldn't get delisted from NASDAQ, as it has been threatened on many occasions and, it would allow Infogrames to make decisions and implement them in the company much more easily. Although this seems as a break for the Alone in the Dark publisher, it's not yet a done deal, “The offer is non-binding and there is no assurance that any transaction will occur,” Atari said. It would be nice to know Atari wouldn't have to accept being acquired or declare bankruptcy, they've been in the industry for far too long. | | Atari looks to online space for salvation - SendMeRSS | | 2008-03-03 20:07:31 | | Atari looks to online space for salvationFiled under: Business Infogrames' new CEO, David Gardner, believes subsidiary Atari's recovery lies in the online gaming space. GI.biz reports Gardner would like to move the financially pummeled company to secure server-based and free-to-play gaming. He believes the way people will want to play and buy their games is "networks centric."Gardner would like to leverage the brands Atari holds and states that the future for the company in gaming is creating high quality games playing on servers where customers don't have to worry about configurations and performance issues. Pro tip: Something like that exists and it's called console gaming. GI.biz will publish its full interview with Gardner tomorrow where he'll discuss his plans (after the board obviously didn't like the last CEO's) on turning Atari's misfortunes around.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments Link - Comments - Alexander Sliwinski - Mon,... | | By: Online Games | | |
| | Atari: Alone in the Dark Delay a Rumor - SendMeRSS | | 2008-01-15 17:36:33 | | Atari: Alone in the Dark Delay a RumorIt was recently posted in the Games for Windows magazine that Alone in the Dark has been delayed to September 2008. Atari has followed up on this claim, refuting it by saying that the publication was spouting nothing but a rumor and that the game is progressing fine. However, there is still no definite release date for the game, which is expected to be released this March on PC and Xbox 360. There are also PS2, PS3 and Wii versions of the game in development, though none of them have a definite or an expected release date. The company recently launched an official website for the horror-adventure game, focusing on real-life events that occurred to Central Park, which is central (no pun intended) to the game’s plot. | | | Atari 2600 Joystick TV Remote Control | | 2007-05-16 21:01:52 | |
Overview
I wanted a simple remote that could be used to easily control the volume and mute the TV when the phone rings. I have replaced all of my remotes with a single Harmony 880 control which works great, but I wanted something a bit more cool to compliment it. Building the retro remote was fun and simple since the mini remote that I used was very easy to hack.
