Japan's 10 Most Popular Tourist Attractions
    2008-07-05 14:17:00
When foreigners go to Japan, Tokyo tops their list of places to see. Seven of the 10 most-visited destinations in the country are in the capital, according to the Japan National Tourist Organization. This makes it easy for visitors to check the top spots off their must-see lists without leaving Tokyo, a sprawling city encompassing nearly every important aspect of Japanese life (except nature; "man-made" is the buzzword here). To get to the other spots on the top-10 list, a quick shinkansen (bullet train) ride is all that's required, and that's an experience itself, as the trains run at speeds of about 200 miles per hour.Whether you choose to stay inside Tokyo's city limits or leave them, however, the complete tourism experience in Japan involves an equal mix of modern and traditional--easy to accomplish in the city and beyond. In Pictures: Japan's 10 Most Popular Tourist DestinationsWherever you go, you can expect the locals to be friendly due to a government tourism-promotion campaign,

Online Attractions for beautiful men and women
    2008-07-04 02:02:33
In my attempts to find the love of my life, I knew that they were not going to be found in the town where I lived, so I took to the Internet. My first experience was the result of a television commercial. They looked so darn happy, you couldn’t help but wonder if this could also work for you, so I tried it. Put it this way, finding my “Mr. Right” may have ended up costing me a small fortune! Then one day I was working on my computer and along came an annoying pop-up. Normally, I delete them

    Brighton Attractions
    2008-06-27 21:42:00
I only went once to Brighton and although I had a short stay there (only one weekend on bodybuilding supply businesses) I did have a great time and I was quite impressed with the sightseeing attractions that Brighton had to offer. The one place I liked the most was Brighton Pier, a place where I got to relax, feel good and, I don't know, it did feel welcoming. It was right next to the Royal Pavilion, the Old Police Cells Museum and the Brighton Fishing Museum, every single place being special. Brighton did have a lot for everyone from tourist attractions and sightseeing spots to clubs and a more than average active night life. I particularly recommend (out of the places I visit) you going to The Temple Bar, the Casablanca Jazz Club and The Sidewinder. I personally stayed at Drakes Hotel, quite a charming place, great conditions, but I am sure other hotels are available for every single budget. If you are ever in the area you should first consult a Brighton Guide available on the Intern

    Sightseeing Tours, Attractions and Museums
    2008-05-26 13:38:00
My husband and I likes to visit any States when we get a chance as we like to see the beauty of any States here in the USA. We went to Las Vegas and we had really fun in there roaming around, drinking, eating, in a nice restaurant, watched live show, comedy show and gambling like playing slots machines and others. I consider it was one of our wildest vacations that we had. We have been in Las Vegas for about 3 times already and we planned to go there every year and this year we are going to go there again. We liked to do sightseeing tours, because it is great to have somebody that you will guide to explore the city or the tourist attraction of a place as you will know or learn better of the history and when we go to in a tourist attraction, we wanted somebody will show us around or to have a guided tour. I am searching about things to do in Las Vegas, because I wanted to know more what we missed in there as we planned also to see one of concert or anything which we will be entertain an

    Trusted Tours and Attractions
    2008-01-20 08:03:57
I have always believed vacations mark a special time in our lives. The planning and anticipating of a vacation, booking the tickets, reserving hotels, all adds to the excitement. It gives us time to be together with our family, to explore new cities, to unwind, and to enjoy. I visited New York with my family several years ago and it struck me as a city bursting with life and energy. We visited a number of places, however, I enjoyed visiting Madam Tussauds gallery the most. It seemed that the statues are actually breathing, they seemed so real. I found the people very friendly too, they have a ready smile for you. If you're looking for different attractions of a city, Trusted Tours and Attractions is the site to visit. They list the best and most popular sightseeing tours and main attractions the city has to offer. The attractions are categorized by city names. Additionally, if you sign up for their eNewsletter, you will be entered in a competition to win a handheld GPS. The Trusted Tra

    CHIANG MAI SIGHTS & ATTRACTIONS
    2007-12-24 00:03:00
The SightsThe city's temples:Wat Phra Singh (1345) - Lanna-style masterpiece. Wat Phra Singh is easy to visit as it is right in the center of Chiang Mai city, located on the corner of Singharat and Ratchadamnoen Rd road. Wat Phra Singh was built inside the old city walls at a time when Chiang Mai was the capital of the northern Thai Lanna or Lan Na kingdom. The wat was originally built in 1345. It may have simply been a stupa erected by a king (and descendant of the great Mangrai) to honour his father. The stupa still stands, but most of the buildings you see on the site today are of much more recent vintage. There are three main buildings, namely the Stupa, Viharn Lai Kam, and Haw Trai.Wat Chiang Man - built by the city's founder, King Mengrai. Located within the walls of the old city, near the Chang Puak gate, Chiang Man is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai. It was supposedly built by the founder of the city 700 years ago, King Mengrai, on the spot where he stayed while planning his new capital. It's a small temple, and not on the main tourist trail, but it was important for quite some time.Getting There: Wat Chiang Man is on Ratchaphakhinai Road near where it intersects Sri Phum Road, which runs just inside the moat along the north wall of the old city. The closest "landmark" to Wat Chiang Man is the Thai Airways office on Phrapokklao Road. Walk down the small street next to the office and turn left at the next main street. The temple will be on your left.Wat Chedi Luang (1401) - Wat Chedi Luang must have been the most impressive temple in Chiang Mai. Built about 600 years ago, the huge chedi which gave the temple its name (the name of the temple translates to "royal pagoda") must have soared high above the surrounding city.Getting There: Wat Chedi Luang is on Prapokklao Road which runs roughly through the north-south center line of the old city, from Changpuak Gate to Chaing Mai Gate. The temple is just a short walk south of the intersection with the main east-

Tainan County blends culture and nature into top tourist attractions
    2007-12-19 09:10:00
Tainan County's top tourist attractions are a blend of local culture and nature, the county's first-magistrate said yesterday in an exclusive interview with The China Post, while noting the region has a lot to offer foreign visitors during the various festivals held year-round.For instance, the Taiwan international orchid show, the Taiwan coffee festival, lantern festival, and bird-watching for "black-faced spoonbills," and the Yuan Shui firecracker ceremony, all top the list of Taiwan's most popular tourists attractions."It is a little bit painful if you don't wear appropriate protection," said Tainan County Magistrate Su Huan-Chih about the Yuan Shui firecracker festival, which he has taken part in for the past three years. Further, he strongly recommended wearing a safety helmet and appropriate clothing before participating in the event.Hundred of thousands of people from all over the island go to Tainan County each year to join in the annual events held on the 15th day of the lunar calendar after the Chinese New Year. The Yuanshui Fongpao -- Yuanshui firecrackers Festival -- takes place in Yuan Shui Township to commemorate the end of a cholera epidemic in the 19th century. Other famous religious festivals held in Tainan County include the Sigong Shaowangchuan -- a ceremony to burn a Wangchuan boat, or the Pingpu Yeji -- a night festival. Moreover, some theme exhibition halls such as the Chimei Museum, Donglonggong Culture Exhibition Hall, and Tainan Museum of History are places you wouldn't want to miss when you go to Tainan County, he said.Su added that Tainan County has come a long way in Taiwan's history. During the Japanese colonial era, hot spring water was first used for treating skin ailments of wounded soldiers before it eventually evolved into its current health and leisure industry. Guanzihling Hot Spring is currently one of the four main hot spring areas in Taiwan, along with Peitou, Yangminshan, and Sihchongsi.Because this "murky hot spring" is

    2007-11-18 14:22:00
There is an old saying which states that Paris is the place where all good people go to die. It is the combination of historical charm, modernism, and a heady underworld which makes Paris a fantasy tourist destination. It is the top 5 Paris attractions which draw people to this great city, again and again. Beyond the Eiffel Tover, and the Louvre there are attractions which take visitors by surprise and in doing so create memories that last a life time. Below are a few of the hottest destinations in Paris. If you visit Europe, for work or pleasure, be sure to find the time to explore these attractions. Paris is an old city and with history comes a great deal of memories. It is within France that these memories are replicated in stone. Paris is the capital of France and the city of monuments. This beautiful city is home to hundreds of monuments and intricately carved structures which dominate the cityscape. The Eiffel Tower embodies the essence of the city of lights. It is the most famous and visited of all the cities attractions. The tower was built in 1889, as a physical and tangible representation of all things French. It was created only to be a temporary structure and was to be taken down after the world's fair. It remains today as one of the most recognizable and most visited (6+ million visitors per year) monuments in the world. One of the most photographed places in the top 5 Paris attractions is the Louvre. This small castle is now home to a number of paintings and sculptures by famous artists. Arguably the world's most famous art museum, the Louvre's most popular piece is Leonardo da Vinci's "Mona Lisa". It was established in 1793, and is one of the oldest museums in Europe. Its art collection spans from the birth of great civilizations up to the 19th century. An amazing 5,000,000+ million tourists visited the museum in 2002. Another attraction is the Centre Pompidou. This is actually the museum which houses all of France's greatest masterpieces by mode

    Cemeteries as tourist attractions?
    2007-11-14 19:31:00
The idea of a cemetery as a place to visit in the course of a vacation, may not exactly resound with Jamaican sensitivities, but Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, has raised an interesting idea: making the May Pen Cemetery a tourist attraction. The fact is we're not a 'cemetery people', despite our penchant for elaborate funerals and mourning rituals. There are, however, other places where cemeteries do attract tourists, particularly if they are the final resting place of celebrities. One of the famous sightseeing spots of Europe, for instance, is the Pére Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, wherein lie some of the world's most celebrated artists and artistes, from centuries past up to contemporary times. In other places, where celebrities are interred also, some tourists do find it interesting to visit the site as part of the experience of another culture. But is our May Pen Cemetery ready for that? Most Jamaicans associate the area with inner-city neglect which we seem unable to put righ

UK attractions - look beyond the obvious
    2007-08-02 10:38:10
Which? Magazine has named the UKs top ten paid for attractions in terms of quality and value for money. Here are the top five: 1 Hampton Court 2 Chatsworth House 3 Edinburgh Castle 4 Tower of London 5 Windsor Castle I’ve visited all of these, except Chatsworth House and I did enjoy Hampton Court best. However there are so many other places in the UK which can offer a great day out without the crowds you’ll probably encounter at these high profile attractions.  I suggest that you look at the “Alternative UK Map” to get off the beaten track, with 20 suggestions from readers of the BBC magazine. You can also look through my blog posts about Days out in the UK or read guides my to less well known destinations in Scotland. Melrose Abbey, Scottish Borders  What’s your favourite paid for attraction in the UK, your favourite free attraction and your overall favourite? Technorati Tags: UK tourist attractions, UK days out

    Melbourne attractions
    2007-06-26 13:01:51
To a lot of people around the world Melbourne is synonomous with Neighbours as that’s where Ramsay Street (which is the real-life street of Pinoak Court and not on a movie-set as you might think) but there’s a lot more to see in and around the city than that of course. The city itself is quite compact so in terms of Melbourne accommodation you can pretty much choose anywhere and not be too far out of the action. However, to avoid the need for a car it’s best to pick a hotel near the centre of Melbourne and a great spot is near the lovely Flinders Street station. The free city circle tram is an excellent way to get yourself oriented and takes in the majority of the city centre attractions along its route. Among these perhaps the best is the Old Melbourne Gaol but don’t miss Captain Cooks cottage (transported from England and reconstructed) nor the botanical gardens. Slightly further afield make a point of spending an evening in accommodation at St Kilda where you

Hot swimming pools are new attractions to tourists in Tuba town Baluda
    2007-06-17 01:50:01
TUBA, Benguet - The swimming pools with hot water established by private investors in recent years in this town adjacent to Baguio City have started as an attraction to local and foreign tourists, according to outgoing municipal mayor Jose Baluda. He said that the increase of tourists only started early this year as a result of the eco-tourism campaign done by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the past five years in this western part of the Cordillera mountain ranges in northern Luzon. Records show that prior to these swimming pools, the main attraction of the town some 230 kilometers north of Manila had been the world-famous Asin hotsprings and the Brown Madonna on the Rock cave chapel. Visit Britian to impose code of practice on attractions
    2007-06-13 12:37:31
From April 2008 Visit Britain will only promote attractions in England which sign up to its code of practice. The aim is to improve the quality of attractions. There is a £25 registration fee so with around 6000 attractions that will bring in around £150,000. Most of the stipulations are common sense such as information about opening hours, cost, accessibility, cleanliness etc. Some such as “having regard to managing the attraction in a sustainable way, considering public transport, locally sourcing food and other supplies” could be rather meaningless if for example an attraction considers it is not on a bus or train route and that buying local food costs more and then disregards the issues. Bamburgh Castle, North Northumberland I wonder how much inspection there will be to ensure that the standards are being met? Do you think this code is a good idea or just more bureaucracy?
