I read somewhere that a taxi from the shenzhen train station will cost you like 40 rmb. I decided to take this route rather than go directly to the shenzhen airport from changping because I want to get familiar with the shenzhen metro and train station for my next trip in a few months time. this will also give me the opportunity to buy more maps to study. King Rama IV ordered the construction of Wat Rajapradit Sathitmahasimaram in 1864 as the first temple of Dhammayutika sect. The phra vihara luang is constructed on a high base and is beautifully decorated. In the temple there are eight stone pillars, each surmounted by a carving of the Buddhist Wheel of Law (Dhammachak), one for each of the eight directions, hence the name "Mahasimaram". During the construction of the phra vihara luang, which is the phra ubosot, it was found that the ground was rather low and the earth soft. | | | Luxury Condominiums In Bangkok | | 2008-03-05 15:40:00 | | Bangkok's luxury condominium market will become more active this year and the new supply will continue to be limited, according to leading international property consultants CB Richard Ellis. The high-end and luxury markets, which faced a slight slowdown in 2007 mainly due to the low market sentiment, will become more active in 2008. Last year, the main focus in the Bangkok condominium market was in the mid-range market where projects are located close to the skytrain or other mass transit system. This segment will continue to grow and become more competitive.Investors are aware that freehold land plots in prime central locations are very limited and the increase in land prices has resulted in a drop in the new supply of luxury units in these areas, whereas demand for downtown city living is growing. Prices of downtown condominiums have continued to rise since the market recovery in 2003, at an average of 10-12% per annum for new projects.

It is an old temple during from the Ayutthaya Period and was originally names Wat Laem or Wat Saithong. During the reign of King Rama IV, the temple was restored by five princes and renamed Wat Bejamabopit (five princes). In 1899 , King Rama V had the temple completely rebuilt and bestowed upon it the name Wat Benjamabopit Dusitwanaram , meaning the Temple of the Fifth King. He placed Prince Narissaranuwattiwong, the nation's chief architect, in change of the design and construction. The name Marble Temple derives from the phra ubosot , which is square and completely covered with white marble . In it is enshrined a reproduction of the Phra Buddhachinarat image, which King Rama V had copied from the original in Phitsanulok Province. [ Phra Buddhachinarat image ]In the cloister extending from the north, around the west, to the south of the phra ubosot , there are 52 Buddha images of various styles and periods. In the monastic residence area is a royal ordination hall, which was reconstructed there after having been moved from the Grand Palace. It was in this King Rama V lived when he entered the monkhood. The murals in this building are of historical interest, showing courtly customs and traditions during the reigns of King Rama IV and Rama V. source: dhammathaiRelated tags : Wat Benjamabophit/marble temple/Bangkok/Thailand Temple/Wat Thai | | By: Wat Thai Temple | | |

| | The Bangkok real estate market is one of the best for international investors | | 2008-01-28 00:08:00 | | Because of low labour costs and relatively inexpensive housing, many multinational corporations have made Bangkok one of their overseas homes. This has, in turn, drawn a lot of international businessmen and expatriates to the city looking for high quality housing at reasonable prices. There continues to be a healthy demand for property, meaning that investments should continue to rise in value for the foreseeable future.

| | Pai Klai Klai, "Hello Bangkok" trucks~!! | | 2008-01-22 05:50:00 | | As a longtime Sukhumvit resident, I like to consider myself as pretty tolerant and adaptable. I take traffic in stride. I can feign ignorance and bliss when a fat, sweaty, hairy farang beside me is stinkin' up the whole BTS car. And yes, I CAN sit sidesaddle on the back of a motorcycle in tight skirt and high heels while counting loose change/sending SMS/applying lipstick~!!But the arrival of the intrusive, noisy, mightily annoying "Hello Bangkok" advertising trucks with HUUUGE-ass TV screens mounted on the back is reeeeally testing my patience (and the decibel limit of my eardrums... PLUS giving me premature wrinkles).I first encountered these intolerable vehicles one morning a few weeks ago while in a TAXI. Since then, I've been regularly bothered, attacked and molested on Sukhumvit Road by these monstrous things blasting various ads and yappy small talks which I'm sure add absolutely NOTHING to the well-being and happiness (not to mention health) of the good people of Sukhumvit.I.. | | By: Street Smart Sukhumvit | | |

| | PMI Pilates Teachers in Bangkok | | 2007-12-29 13:02:00 | | According to Bangkok's Independent Newspaper, The Nation, Bangkok's best Pilates studio, Pilatestudio on Ploenchit Road, Bangkok, is run by PhysicalMind Institute certified Pilates teachers."Throughout an hour-long Pilates class, you hear deep breathing - almost like sighing - every five seconds. That's because rhythmic breathing is at the core of the exercises. Pilates concentrates on inhaling and exhaling and strengthening the abdominal muscles, says Kultida Puranaputra, an actress and one of the nine instructors at Pilate studio.'Your mind has to relate to your body,' she says. Kultida and the other instructors earned their certificates at the Physicalmind Institute in New York City."Further,"One of the students at Pilatestudio described the regimen as a one-stop exercise service. 'If you go to a fitness centre, you might use several different pieces of equipment to exercise your entire body. But if you join a Pilates class, you exercise every part of your body in just one hour,' says Pechjarin Kanjanaprasatpom, a 28-year-old IT site manager.Although weight reduction isn't one of its claimed benefits, many women say they discover they lose weight when practising Pilates. 'I recovered from a shoulder injury because of it,' says Pen Suwannarat, who has been practising Pilates for a month."Weight loss, less pain, stronger bodies--that's Pilates!Tags: Pilates, News, PhysicalMind, bangkok, thailand, lynda lippin
