| It's a Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood | | 2008-07-18 12:56:00 | | A funny thing happened when we held our garage sale over the Fourth of July holiday. I saw, and spoke to, more of my neighbors over two days than I sometimes do in months. I watched, with great interest, as one neighbor collaborated with another to pull huge bush stumps out of the ground in front of his house using rope and a truck. Over the course of this project, there were 2 trucks involved, rope, shovels, and about half the neighborhood and my garage sale browsers watching anxiously as the guy driving the truck spun his wheels trying to yank this monstrous bush out. Eventually, they were successful.Another neighbor down the road came back a couple times to buy lamps, telephones, shoes, and other items for her sister who was moving into a new apartment around the corner.Later in the day, a neighbor we rarely talked to came over from across the street to let us know he and his family were going out of town for a week and asked us to keep an eye on his house. | | Beautiful Day in the Gulf | | 2008-07-07 14:24:00 | | Today, I woke up about 11am since I slept late last night around 1pm, I went to bed about 12 mid but I wanted to read a magazine and I end up sleeping at 1am. I am catching some sleep also, because I slept late when we were on cruise as there are alot to do in the cruise. I woke up around 11am, open our storm shutter, and found out it’s a beautiful day. It is sunny and I can say it looks placid and nice outside. As we live in Florida, I do not care much and appreciate how nice outside since I see it often but I started appreciating as my husband and I stayed 3 mos. in Indianapolis. In addition, we lived there during wintertime. I am thinking, this afternoon, we should swim in the gulf. I already sunburned as we did snorkel alot during our 7-day cruise vacation but I wanted to do exercise this afternoon as I gained 5 lbs. by eating too much the buffet in the cruise but the food are delicious and I do not have anything to complain about.
