| | January 2008 Civil Engineering Board Exam Update | | 2008-01-07 13:39:00 | | We are only five days away on the Civil Engineering Retake on January 12, 2008 and still the PRC has not yet resolved the two petitions filed by Civil Engineering Against Retake Student's Union (CE AGRESSION) on December 3, 2007 and Cebu City Examinees on December 17, 2007 to nullify the retake resolution by PRC which is scheduled on the 12th of January 2008. For your information, the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ordered the retake of two subjects - Hydraulics and Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Engineering and Constructions of the November 17-18, 2007 Civil Engineeing (CE) Board Examination declaring the results of the previous exam as statistically improbable and that the CE exam is invalid due to some irregularities. In response to this the Civil Engineering Against Retake Students’ Union (CE AGRESSION) filed Petition today to Nullify the resolution of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ordering the retake of two subjects. They also sought intercession from Court of Appeals to order PRC to release of the result of the examination and to schedule the oath-taking of those who passed. Since the January 12, 2008 schedule of retake is barely days away, they likewise pray from CA to immediately issue a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) and/or Writ of Preliminary Injunction to stop the retake pending the resolution of their petition. More than 3,000 examinees out of 4,782 Civil Engineering examinees from all over the country supported the campaign to nullify the retake order wishing they would no longer have to take the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination on January 12, 2008.
