    Primeiro vôo do Boeing 747
    2008-02-09 13:14:00

New Boeing 797 Giant "Blended Wing" Passenger Airliner-Fiction!
    2007-11-14 03:45:00
Summary of the eRumor: The story says that the Boeing Company is developing a radical new passenger jetliner that will carry 1,000 passengers. It's designated the 797 and is a "blended wing" design looking a lot like the old flying wing experiments of the 50's. The Truth: TruthOrFiction.com went straight to the source, the Boeing Company. A spokesperson said that it is not true that Boeing is developing a commercial blended wing aircraft. He asked that we help stop the perpetuation of the story. What is true, according to Boeing, is that Boeing Phantom Works, the company's advanced research and development organization, is doing research on the blended wing body design as a potential military aircraft. Boeing has built a scale model to test its low-speed flying characteristics in a wind tunnel. There are also plans (as of 7/13/07) to flight test a scale model. Updated 7/14/06 A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet: Subject:: Boeing 797 Boeing to take on Airbus with (1000 seat) giant 797 Blended Wing plane Boeing is preparing a 1000 passenger jet that could reshape the Air travel industry for the next 100 years. The radical Blended Wing design has been developed by Boeing in cooperation with the NASA Langley Research Centre. The mammoth plane will have a wing span of 265 feet compared to the 747's 211 feet, and is designed to fit within the newly created terminals used for the 555 seat Airbus A380, which is 262 feet wide. The new 797 is in direct response to the Airbus A380 which has racked up 159

    Boeing Balances Investment & Access
    2007-09-25 16:34:55
Last week I asked if protectionism would fly in China. Well, Boeing seems to agree (sort of) with Airbus that local investment is critical to long-term sales. MarketWatch reports that: “Boeing Co…doesn’t plan to follow rival Airbus in setting up an airplane assembly plant in China, but will seek new investment opportunities in the country, John [...]

Air New Zealand became one of the first airlines to order the new Boeing 787
    2007-07-16 00:31:00
The airline, which has ordered eight Dreamliners, changed its order from the 787-8 to the bigger and longer range 787-9, available in late 2010. This will increase the potential destinations for Air New Zealand in all directions across the Pacific and Indian Oceans, such as Bombay, Beijing, Johannesburg, Buenos Aires and Chicago. It will also make the routes much more viable than with the larger and less fuel efficient 747s.

Rights group sues Boeing over CIA transfers
    2007-05-31 16:57:44
America is going to hell in a hand basket. The ACLU said it would file a lawsuit against Jeppesen Dataplan Inc., a Boeing unit that provides flight and logistics support to plane operators, later on Wednesday. I did some Google research on Jeppesen Dataplan Inc. They don’t even fly planes. They allow anyone from the military to commercial airlines to joe blow to get up to date weather information, plan flight routes and file flight plans online. I scoured the website and couldn’t find any mention of a policy stating that you had to have your cargo approved by Jeppesen before you could use their services. This is the kind of backward ass logic that would allow MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) to sue Ford after a drunk driver killed someone while driving a Ford Focus. If Ford hadn’t built the Focus then the drunk ass wouldn’t have been able to drive it and kill someone. If Jeppesen hadn’t allowed the CIA to plan their route and file a flight plan they wouldn’t have been

    Boeing Boeing
    2007-05-23 20:22:00
I went to see a play called Boeing Boeing at the Comedy Theatre which is running until 20 October 2007. This theatre used to be known as The Royal Comedy Theatre and it opened in London’s West End on October 15, 1881. This Victorian theatre was designed by Thomas Verity and built in just six months. By 1884 it was known as just the Comedy Theatre. The play was captioned by Stagetext and it was captioned very well. This play originally opened in the 1960s and I thought it was going to be quite boring (I don’t like anything that’s before my time!), but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a new production by Matthew Warchus and it is very funny. The stage set is very simple, the play is set in one room throughout. Bernard has 3 fiancees who are all air hostesses, and he manages them according to a strict timetable and with the help of his stressed housekeeper. When a faster Boeing aircraft is introduced, messing up his timetable, and an old school friend turns up to s
