| Peachy Canyon Zinfandel | | 2008-05-28 13:31:00 | | 2005Paso RoblesCaliforniaMight drink again with a well-paired food match.By scent alone, I thought I would enjoy this wine. It had a sort of dusty cherry scent. But upon tasting, it was "thin" and more light bodied than I care for. There was a slight finish, but it was high alcohol more than flavor. That was prior to food and, as it was The Guy's B'Day, I was grilling one of the better parts of a poor cow :( for his B'Day dinner. I thought perhaps the Zin would blossom with the steak. NOT. :( Just disappointing. | Grand Canyon Car Rental Guide to Getting a Car at the Grand Canyon | | 2008-04-01 09:58:14 | | There are many reasons why you would want to get a car rental while at the Grand Canyon. Although there is a taxi service and a free shuttle bus that runs throughout the park, having your own vehicle is a wonderful convenience that will make your visit to the Grand Canyon all the better. There have been car rental agencies at the Grand Canyon in the past, but they've shut down for some reason. I spent over a year and a half living and working at the Grand Canyon. One of my jobs was working at the Grand Canyon Airport as a refueler and meeting the many private pilots that would fly in looking for a Grand Canyon car rental. You can imagine their ire when they found out that nothing was available. While I was working there the company that I was employed by made a deal with Enterprise and secured one car for us to have on hand on a first come first serve basis. This was a big step in the right direction, but if the one car was rented out and the pilots hadn't made previous arrangements th | | By: Cheap Car Rental Tips | | |

| Bust drug addiction with The Canyon | | 2007-12-20 04:34:15 | | Drug addiction has atrociously taken new heights everyday, affecting people regardless of age, sex, culture and nationality. Its multi-factorial roots can be traced down from that of today's seemingly disorganized world, with specific causes such as peer pressure, mere curiosity and most of the time because of a pathologic family. | Camping in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks | | 2007-09-20 05:58:00 | | After a five-hour haul up to Sequoia National Park with a tent and cooler stuffed for a weekend camping sojourn in big-tree country, you wouldn't dream of pulling into Lodgepole campground at dusk without a reservation. More than 200 chock-a-block campsites occupy this unofficial Mission Control for car campers in one of the country's most popular parks. And on a warm evening in late summer, with the world's largest tree hulking just minutes down the road and a 20% chance of isolated thunderstorms hovering somewhere above the western Sierra, you can bet that every one of them will be occupied by a friendly family grilling slabs of meat under a dome of cloudless sky.

| Our Big Trip Part 6- Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands and Arches National Parks | | 2007-03-09 15:07:16 | | The background about Our Big Trip is here.
Day 36- Sunday, July 20:
We awoke well-rested in a campground just a stone’s throw from Bryce Canyon National Park, so named for Ebenezer Bryce, who, upon seeing it, called it “One hell of a place to lose a cow.” Bryce is not actually a canyon, but a series of natural amphitheaters. It resides much higher than any of the other parks in Utah, so it is much cooler. We anticipated teeming masses of tourists, but were pleasantly surprised. During the mid-morning we drove along the road that runs aside the rims of the amphitheaters and got a bird’s eye view. Then after lunch we strapped on our hiking boots and hiked along the Peek-A-Boo Trail, which runs down from the lip into the heart of the largest amphitheater and then back up. It was about a 5 1/2 mile walk, and the path rose and fell sharply. It was a strenuous hike, but it was made easier because it was overcast and not too hot, and even rained on us about a third of | | By: The Frog Bog | | |
