Fast of Jesus Christ and Mother Mary
    2008-08-27 21:35:21
1."My seasoning is hunger ..."- Jesus, son of Mary2.While pregnant with Jesus, Mary was inspired by God to take vows of silence, as an act of fasting from speaking."The Voice said: So eat and drink and be consoled. And if thou meetest any mortal, say: Lo! I have vowed a fast unto the Beneficent Lord, and may not speak this day to any mortal."- The Quran 19:263.The Gospel of Matthew records that Jesus "fasted forty days and forty nights" (Matthew 4:21). The Gospel of Luke adds the detail that "in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered" (Luke 4:2).The disciples were unable to drive out a negative energy from a boy, but Jesus drove it out. When the disciples asked how he did it, he said that this kind can be driven out only "by prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29).The early followers of Christ practiced fasting sincerely: "they had fasted and prayed" (Acts 13:3), and again they had "prayed with fasting" (Acts 14:23). The Bible mentions fasting as one of ...

Sacred (and Secret) Marriage of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene
    2008-08-24 21:39:14
1.Cana, Galilee, 23 A. D.'They have no wine', said Mary to Jesus. And on the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus and his disciples were called to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, Mary, the mother of Jesus said to him, 'They have no wine.'Mary immediately ordered the servants to do whatever Jesus instructed. And Jesus told them to fill the pots with water up to the brim. He then asked them to draw wine from them and to serve the governor of the feast. The servants served the wine. When the ruler of the feast tasted the water that had been made into wine, the governor called the bridegroom and said to him that most people serve the good wine first the lower grade wine later. The bridegroom, on the other hand, had done the reverse. His mother, Mary, had clearly been in charge. She was the hostess without doubt. And the bridegroom had been Jesus.- The Christ Conspiracy: The Marriage of Jesus by Rhawn Joseph.2.Mary anointed...

Brett Writes (no joke) to Jesus Christ
    2008-08-08 15:45:00
So I suppose this one needs a little back story.I've wanted for awhile to write a letter to a completely random person. I planned on blocking their name out to protect their identity, and just type them an utterly absurd letter. For reasons I don't care to recall, I did a white pages search for Jesus Christ, and searched here in New York state. Lo and fucking behold, there's someone listed in the white pages as "Jesus Christ" 3.5 miles from where I live."Brooklyn." I said calmly to myself, "Yeah, that makes sense."At this point, there's really no reason to block out his name. If you either were named Jesus Christ, or changed your name to Jesus Christ and are happily listed in the phone book, you've effectively asked for it....

Vision of Christ | Sharing of Sacred Experience
    2008-07-02 00:06:16
1.Happy news, O heart!..... The Jesus-breath has come! From his wholesome spirit..... wafts the fragrance of the One.................. - Hafez, the mystic and master sufi poet2.I had a vision just as I was awakening several years ago. Jesus was standing before me, and I stood in front of him trying to take the vision in and comprehend what I was seeing. It was that mystical time between sleeping and waking, before I am completely awake. Jesus was wearing the crown of thorns, and there were drops of blood on his forehead where the thorns were piercing his skin.I reached up to touch him, to feel the blood on his skin, and it was warm and real. I asked him if it is painful all the time. He told me that it was not painful, not anymore, because he was lifted beyond it. We didn't speak aloud, but it was communicated telepathically, in that I knew his thoughts and answers, and he knew mine. It was the communion of love.Since he was more than just the physical body, I asked if it would be po...

    Krishna | Christna | Christ | Christos
    2008-06-03 03:04:35
1.Mathura, North India 3127 B.C.The moon was in the constellation of Aldebaran and it was the 8th lunar day of the dark fortnight in 3127 B.C.The blessed virgin, Devaki, was about to deliver a baby boy; Krishna was to be his name. His birth had been heralded by the astral formation of a Rohini Nakshatra, a most auspicious astrological sequence. His father, Vasudeva was a carpenter. Unfortunately, a wise Brahmin had predicted to King Kansa, the ruler of Mathura, that a son born to Devaki would destroy him. Kansa ordered the death of all male babies on the day of Krishna's birth to prevent the prophecy from coming true. Luckily for Krishna, his father was pre-warned and fled with the child to Gokul where he could be brought up safely.Hinduism has long worshiped the Holy Trinity of Brahma - the Creator; Vishnu - the Preserver and Shiva - the Destroyer. Krishna, it was believed, was the second entity in this trinity. Much like the second entity in the trinity of the Father, Son and Holy Gho...

Harmony of the Gospels | Chronological records on the life and times of Jesus Christ
    2008-05-11 01:45:33
And said Jesus, "Peace be unto you! As the Divine Father has sent me, I am sending the peace to you." - John 20:21The Life and Times of the Lord Jesus Christ: A Harmony of the Gospels by Peter Smith is an important contribution in  bringing the event of Christ's life together as a "fifth gospel". It presents the life of Christ in its correct chronological order with all the details intact whereas the synoptic gospels were not all chronologically recorded, only the gospel of John was.The canonical gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John written between 65 and 100 AD., individually doesn't mention all of the events of the life of Christ. For example, John's Gospel records only 49 events, Mark's 70 events,Matthew's 94 events, and Luke's 118 events of Christ life. Its scholarly recognized that first canonical gospel was that of Mark (c 65-70) which in turn was used as a source for the gospel of Matthew and Luke. Gospel of John presents quite a different picture, which probably explain w...

    Tiamat:Judas Christ (2002)
    2008-05-02 04:36:55

Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter was a movie released in 2001 tagged under, Action, Comedy, Horror, and my personal favorite, Musical. The slogan is also a doozie. "The first testament says "an eye for an eye." - The second testament says "love thy neighbor." - The third testament ... when christ returns
    2008-04-23 10:57:26
This morning i was sitting here and i saw my response to a myspace profile question, "who i'd like to meet" and i said christ when he returns. I was reading this and my heart even as we speak is breaking and being filled with a longing for his presence, a longing for jesus himself to come and be with me. I had an experience where for several weeks i was intense on watching the news and current events and through this one night i was watching the 700 club and God spoke to me that i needed to get ready, get focused and get into him because the times are changing and His return is at hand. We do not know when jesus will return but we want to be ready. Also because the times are crazy with war and violence and weather patterns, we see that the earth is groaning for the sons of God to be revealed and god is waiting for us to arise and shine with the glory of god, to fulfill his calling on our lives- which is to make disciples of christ and to show them how to love God with all of their hear...

The "Christ, You're a Perv!" Offensive
    2008-01-08 02:01:00
(I mean the artist, not Jesus, of course!) A GALLERY has offended Christians and visitors alike by displaying a statue showing Christ with an erection. The sculpture, by the gay Chinese-born artist Terence Koh, is being exhibited by the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead. The exhibition, entitled Gone, Yet Still, features 74 different plaster models of people or objects which Koh, 30, claims have been important in his life. As well as the 18in statue of Christ, there are models of Mickey Mouse and ET, dipped into plaster. They also have erect penises attached.“For Christians the image of Jesus is very special and to interpret it in a sexualised way is an affront to what we hold dear,” said the Rev Christopher Warren of St Mary’s Catholic cathedral, Newcastle upon Tyne. “While Jesus was a human being in every way, to portray him this way will offend.”The Baltic says it has no plans to remove the offending work. “Koh is trying to explain all the things which have meant something to him,” said a gallery spokesman. “It is a sort of mausoleum.”The artist’s works can sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars in America where he now lives. In 2006, two other controversial works by Koh were withdrawn shortly before USA Today, an exhibition curated by Charles Saatchi, the advertising tycoon, at the Royal Academy. One showed a Virgin Mary fitted with a phallus at a urinal while another comprised a drum kit spattered with the artist’s semen and blood.---> Read More ...

Remembering Christ During the Festive Mood
    2008-01-01 09:25:00
The importance of going to church has been very significant for me especially in those times where you need guidance and someone to understand you. Recently. I have been to Hachiouji Catholic Church and celebrated the Holy Eucharist with fellow OFWs. It is really different when you go to church and pray to a church where a lot of people who you do not know welcome you the most. It is where the time where you unexpectedly meet a lot of more warm Filipinos whom you don't expect to help your where you need help the most.Hachiouji is located a west of Tokyo and around 4 stations from my place, Kunitachi. Going around this place is easy as the Chou Line is always available. Hachiouji is a lively place with so many malls and high-rise commercial buildings. Apart from being lively, it also has it recently built art masterpiece by the students of a local daigaku (university) where highlighting the kanji of Hachi, which means the number eight, which also stands as the first significant name of Hachiouji. The artwork can be found in the center of the city and it is compsed of recycled compact discs shaped into the kanji of the number eight in Japanese. Also, when I went to the Church, I can feel the warm reception of the Filipino community. After the mass everybody sings "Ang Pasko ay Sumapit" where it give me goosebumps whenever I recall the people singing. It is also memorable since it was the first time where a Filipino priest celebrated in Hachiouji and also my first time to experience the blessing of a fellow Filipino priest. After the mass, all of the parents who have children gave their children presents. And as I can observe, everybody wants their children to practice the "mano po" tradition wherein children take their parents and godparents hands onto their forehead and greet each other "Merry Christmas." It was very overwhelming and kind experience for me. You can see each Filipina parent the happiness in their eyes where their children are about to experience the ...

The Spiral Dance and Hymn of Jesus Christ | as recorded in The Apocryphal Acts of John
    2007-12-17 00:01:28
The spiral dance or turning or whirling dedicated to Divine Remembrance, can be traced back in many religious tradition including in ancient Jewish mystical traditions. What is fascinating to know is that Jesus Christ himself did perform such whirling dance with his twelve disciples as recorded in gnostic text. It does also affirm what many scholars have suggested that Christ born and raised in Jewish faith and tradition surely was exposed to its inner mystical traditions.i am currently reading a fascinatingly beautiful book, The Mystic Spiral - Journey of the Soul by Jill Purce which turning out to be one of the best books on spiritual symbology i ever came across. The subject matter as the name suggest is the mystical spiral and its over whelming presence in different spiritual and religious tradition. hopefully i will come back again and again quoting from this book for its rich depth of wisdom. as i was posting on whirling dervishes, it was a wonderful synchronosity really to come...

    Humor jokes-Where is Jesus Christ?
    2007-12-15 04:11:41
A Sunday school teacher of pre-schoolers was concerned that his students might be a little confused about Jesus Christ because of the Christmas season emphasis on his birth. He wanted to make sure they understood that the birth of Jesus occurred a long time ago, that he grew up, etc. So he asked his class, "Where is Jesus today?"Steven raised his hand and said, "He's in Heaven."Mary was called on and answered, "He's in my heart."Little Johnny, waving his hand furiously, blurted out, "I know! I know! He's in our bathroom!"The whole class got very quiet, looked at the teacher, and waited for a response. The teacher was completely at a loss for a few very long seconds. He finally gathered his wits and asked Little Johnny how he knew this. And Little Johnny said, "Well... every morning, my father gets up, bangs on the bathroom door, and yells 'Jesus Christ, are you still in there?’...

The first book I have chosen for my new Changemaker direction is:  So, You Want to Be Like Christ? Eight Essentials to Get You There. Charles R. Swindoll ISBN 0-8499-1731-X Amazon link I have been reading Charles Swindoll for 30 years now and he never disappoints me. As he writes in his introduction: "So, you want to be like Christ? Me, too. But that kind of godliness won't happen by hanging around a church or thinking lofty thoughts three or four times a day or learning a few verses of Scripture. It will take more--much more. Disciplining ourselves will require the same kind of focused thinking and living that our Master modeled during His brief life on earth." Rev. Swindoll defines the eight essentials we need to practice as: Intimacy: Deepening Ours Lives Simplicity: Uncluttering Our Minds Silence and Solitude: Slowing Our Pace Surrender: Releasing Our Grip Prayer: Calling Out Humility: Bowing Low Self-Control: Holding Back Sacrifice: Giving Over As he states: "No...

"After my departure there will arise the ignorant and the crafty, and many things will they ascribe unto Me that I never spake, and many things which I did speak will they withhold, but the day will come when the clouds shall be rolled away, and the Sun of Righteousness shall shine forth with healing in his wings" ~ Jesus, The Essene Gospel of PeaceSufi mystics with profound respect consider Jesus Christ, upon him be peace, as one of the greatest Murshid, Sufi Master. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. WARRING CHRIST (Blog Against Theocracy II)
    2007-07-02 07:06:00
Theocracy is derived from the two Greek words, Qeo/j(Theos) meaning "God" and kra/tein (cratein) meaning "to rule." The Reverend Rod Parsley, a champion of theocracy, or what he calls a "christocracy," told his congregation at the World Harvest Church, located just outside Columbus, Ohio, "Theocracy means God is in control, and you are not."(more)D. James Kennedy, Pastor of Coral Ridge Ministries:"Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society."Today's hard right seeks total dominion. It's packing the courts and rigging the rules. The target is not the Democrats but democracy itself.Dying in the meadows,They’ve all fallenLifeless along the windOld men and women,Barren yo...

TDA’s latest post on Chuck Norris got me to thinking about the whole Christian Karate phenomenon. Yes, you may be surprised, but there is actually an organization and a phenomenon. If you follow the links from TDA’s blog to Chuck’s blog you’ll see that Mr. Norris now has his own ministry. Back to Chuck in a [...]...

    To Live is Christ
    2007-05-08 06:13:00
"For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."As Christians we're here for only one purpose - to glorify God. John Piper likes to say 'God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.' We need to find our only peace and satisfaction in God and live to serve Him, not out of a sense of duty, but out of love for Him and thankfulness for what He has done in our lives. I urge you not to waste your life. Don't be distracted by money, a new car, or the newest fashions. 1 John says that if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. Our love for God as Christians should over-ride any attraction the world offers. We should learn to say with Paul that we count everything as rubbish compared to knowing Christ. Then, as He becomes our treasure and delight, we can through our joy, share Him with others by telling them the good news of the gospel....

    Christ In A Canoe
    2004-05-25 17:08:00
In between wedding dress sewing and painting my parent's family room and entry way, Matt and I had time to marvel at the torrential storms that moved through the Western New York and Rochester area this weekend. In the 27 years my parents have lived at their house, I've never seen water come through the basement windows before. You could see a rain water mark 3 inches up on the glass pane the next day. The best part was our determined outing to one of the local bars near the Genesee River. Heidi, Ryan, Matt and me had to find detours around a flooded St. Paul Blvd. and flooded sides streets in order to find safe haven at The Summerville Grill. Heidi posted a picture of me at the bar on her blog. Mind you, I was exhausted at this point in the evening. Matt and I found out after we came back to Chautauqua County yesterday that several roadways had been covered with water. Chautauqua Lake near Bemus Point is still at flood stage along with the Chadakoin River in the village of F...
