    Rumsfeld's Bad Day, Mega-Churches, & Tombstone Vigilettes
    2008-08-10 16:27:41
SUNDAY, AUGUST 10I am working on a book about fashion in the era of the Wild West, tracking costume through photographs from the beginning of photography until 1910 when Hollywood took over.  What started me on my quest was my desire to prove the good women of the Tombstone Vigilettes wrong.  Bonnie Darlington is one of them.  Boy was I wrong!  This group is very much "up" on fashion of the Wild West down to the smallest detail.  FYI, Bonnie is the town florist there in Tombstone and does a fantastic job!I don't mind admitting I do not ...

    2008-04-10 12:33:00
Baclayon ChurchChoosing to stay in the town of Baclayon in Bohol proved to be a wise decision. Our homestay was only a 5 minute jeepney or car ride from the Baclayon Church while most of the ancestral homes we wanted to visit were also very close by. So after grabbing a bite to eat at the market, we crossed the road to the first stop in our tour of Bohol's churches.#1: The Church of Our Lady of

    2008-04-10 05:58:00
The Rev Trevor Stevenson, of Irish-based charity Fields of Life, which invited the President Nkurunziza to Northern Ireland, believes this is an opportunity to discuss reconciliation progress in both countries. His visit is a symbol of how far the political process has moved forward. “We are thrilled to have President Nkurunziza here as a guest of Fields of Life. The strong message that he hopes to convey is that through the word of God, forgiveness can be found in the bleakest of times,” -Belfast Newsletter, 5 April 2008http://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/President-briefs-churchleaders-on-peace.3951147.jpThe attacks on the politicians’ homes took place almost simultaneously on March 8, 2008, suggesting they were a coordinated effort to intimidate the political opposition to the ruling party... Several opposition politicians have been threatened and targeted for violence during the last 18 months.... Five parliamentarians from the opposition party Front for Democracy in Burundi (Fro

Opponents glad Wiccan school leaving HoopestonBy Tracy MossThe News-GazetteTuesday, April 24, 2007 6:44 AM CDTHOOPESTON – Some in the Hoopeston area are glad to see the Witch School leave town, while some don't have a strong opinion either way.According to Ed Hubbard, who helped bring the Witch School to Hoopeston about four years ago, he has sold the school to new owners, and they will be headquartering the mostly online entity elsewhere. The school, which specializes in peer-to-peer training in Wicca and magick, according to Hubbard, generated controversy when it first chose Hoopeston as its new home in 2003. Some of the strongest opponents were local churches."To me, it's an answer to the prayers given," said Kendra Smiley, an author and speaker, who is a member of the East Lynn United Methodist Church, which had led some gatherings to specifically pray about the witch school. "It's not the kind of influence we want in our community."The First Baptist Church at 323 E. Seminary S
