U2 3D - Estreia nos cinemas em Portugal
    2008-04-04 11:32:00
Trailler do filme U2 3DAlgumas músicas tocada

Wet summer helped cinemas to a bumper year ; Box office collections increase
    2008-03-17 08:04:00
Despite the competition for our shrinking leisure time, cinema had a bumper year in 2007 with films like Shrek the Third and The Simpsons Movie sending box office takings to a record high. One of the wettest summers on record also helped UK cinemas boom while other media bemoaned falling revenues.Admissions rose 3.7% to 162.4 million in 2007 and box office takings rose 7.7% to £904.9m, according to figures from the Film Distributors' Association.A large chunk of those takings were in the summer,

    Oscars night at Palace Cinemas
    2008-02-23 16:27:55
The ad on the right is for the Oscars night at Palace Cinemas. So if you don't want to watch Oscars alone you can go to see them in the cinema. And it's for free, including free drinks and snacks :)Unfortunately all 3 cinemas in Prague's Palace Cinemas are already full. Even though the program starts at 10 pm with various tv shows from HBO (e.g. Californication which I love) and the actual Oscars ceremony begins at 2 am.Thank God they have so comfortable seats for comfortable sleep - I slept through Lord of the rings (twice), second Matrix movie and Billy Elliot here so I can tell :)Speaking of Oscars. We have our Czech nomination in "Original song" - Falling Slowly from Once by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Here's a link to a Youtube video - tell me what you think. And I recommend Atonement, too :)

    Let's be considerate in cinemas
    2007-04-08 21:31:25
"Meet the Robinsons" Policy Trailer…If you have been watching movies lately, you would definitely have seen this policy video about being considerate in the cinemas. My favourite sentence in the video is, “Hey man, it’s not like we can press rewind.” I burst out laughing and nodded in agreement when I first heard this. You are anticipating the climax of the show when suddenly someone kicked your seat from behind. You may be trying hard to decipher what the actors are talking about but the group of people beside you is talking so loudly. They seem to have endless comments about the movie. You may be trying real hard to sit up high because the person sitting in front of you is blocking your view. Some people may even be talking on the phone right beside you.Loud crunching of potato chips, endless handphone ringing sound, baby crying noises are driving you nuts. You missed exciting parts of the movie and there is no way for you to press rewind. Some friends even commented to me that why are couples kissing endlessly in the theatre? They feel as if they are watching them kissing instead of watching the movie, as they are just sitting right in front of them.I have been to a movie once whereby there is a large group of people who were jeering and cheering throughout the movie. May I tell you that do you not realize that this is not your home? You are not even watching a soccer match.Of course, the main difference about watching movies at home and in cinemas is that you get to have lots of people watching together with you. It is nice if there are people laughing or crying with you during the hilarious or sad scenes in the movie. However, isn’t cheering and jeering a bit too overboard?Who does not want to have a nice experience while watching movies? We all paid the same amount of money, hoping that we can fully enjoy the movie. However, how many times do we meet with such inconsiderate people in the cinemas who will spoil our mood? I will say that there are still s
