    Head for Circuit City
    2008-07-13 16:29:00
There are certain gems on the market anyone who call themselves gamers, should not pass. Such as Wal-Mart's $100 gift card with purchase of Ps3, now we have another on our hands and this time it's from Circuit City. Metal Gear Solid 4( By far one of the best gaming experiences) is currently being sold for $49.99 -$10 Off- but it doesn't end there, Circuit City is also giving $10 gift card for anyone who purchases MGS4 at the discounted price. That is $20 or 33% off,for my non-math savvy readers, and it is GOOD.So, get off your butts and head for Circuit City

    Jabil Circuit
    2008-06-08 09:00:37
8.8 - 2008 Fixed yearlier work. There´s no room for even tiny equator angle erros with this size charts. Pattern was and is correct, just didn´t get right waves at first try, they´re placed now & also worked with Jabil a bit more and recogniced & fitted it to the pyramid & boomerang construction. Most likely will walk through over my recent charts during the evening , week & before monday opening, I need to give more attention for most recent waves as I have been so much focused for pattern recognition. Here´s correct Jabil Circuit waves, both charts fixed also.Overall, I am coming from real far away and long charts to closer in all of my work meaning my trimeframe getting shorter and shorter when times come, but big charts are much more important to know and interest me most. Now I am working with equator eclipse and geometrical tags (longitude, latitude).2.6-2008 Jabil Circuit & market harmony.

    Ammeter impact on measured circuit
    2008-05-10 04:44:24
Just like voltmeters, ammeters tend to influence the amount of current in the circuits they're connected to. However, unlike the ideal voltmeter, the ideal ammeter has zero internal resistance, so as to drop as little voltage as possible as electrons flow through it. Note that this ideal resistance value is exactly opposite as that of a voltmeter. With voltmeters, we want as little current to be drawn as possible from the circuit under test. With ammeters, we want as little voltage to be dropped as possible while conducting current. Here is an extreme example of an ammeter's effect upon a circuit: With the ammeter disconnected from this circuit, the current through the 3 Ω resistor would be 666.7 mA, and the current through the 1.5 Ω resistor would be 1.33 amps. If the ammeter had an internal resistance of 1/2 Ω, and it were inserted into one of the branches of this circuit, though, its resistance would seriously affect the measured branch current: Having effectively

    Voltmeter impact on measured circuit
    2008-05-10 04:42:41
Every meter impacts the circuit it is measuring to some extent, just as any tire-pressure gauge changes the measured tire pressure slightly as some air is let out to operate the gauge. While some impact is inevitable, it can be minimized through good meter design. Since voltmeters are always connected in parallel with the component or components under test, any current through the voltmeter will contribute to the overall current in the tested circuit, potentially affecting the voltage being measured. A perfect voltmeter has infinite resistance, so that it draws no current from the circuit under test. However, perfect voltmeters only exist in the pages of textbooks, not in real life! Take the following voltage divider circuit as an extreme example of how a realistic voltmeter might impact the circuit it's measuring: With no voltmeter connected to the circuit, there should be exactly 12 volts across each 250 MΩ resistor in the series circuit, the two equal-value resistors divid

Circuit City Agrees To Open Books For Blockbuster
    2008-05-09 10:50:51
NEW YORK - Circuit City Stores Inc. said Friday that it has hired Goldman Sachs & Co. to help it explore strategic alternatives, adding that it will allow video-rental chain Blockbuster Inc. and its largest shareholder, Carl Icahn, to conduct due diligence in Blockbuster's bid to acquire Circuit City. Circuit City said it received a letter from Blockbuster, answering its questions about how Blockbuster can successfully finance the proposed acquisition for more than $1 billion. In April, Blockbuster offered to buy Circuit City for at least $6 a share. Blockbuster's response also included a letter from Icahn, who said, subject to his satisfaction with his due-diligence review of Circuit City, he and his associated entities would "stand ready to purchase Circuit City" if Blockbuster couldn't obtain financing or required shareholder approval. Circuit City shares jumped 9.8% in late morning trading Friday, while Blockbuster sh

Circuit City puts itself up for sale
    2008-05-09 10:11:33
According to a story on Bloomberg News this morning, struggling retailer Circuit City has decided to put itself up for sale. The company is opening its books to Blockbuster and other investors interested in an acquisition. If you recall, i posted a story last week about rumors of the company being on the verge of bankruptcy, which turn out to be untrue. What does this mean for gift card holders? This is a bit of good news since any effort to keep the company alive means gifts cards will continue to be redeemed. However, as I have mentioned before, if you have a Circuit City gift card, now is the time to use it. Also, I do not recommend buying a Circuit City gift card until the company’s future is clear.

Gift Card Alert: Circuit City filing for bankruptcy?
    2008-05-01 16:54:23
Over the last week or so, there have been lots of questions regarding gift card redemption from Circuit City. The questions are based on rumors of the company being on the verge of bankruptcy. Even though the company was on a recent list of retailers at risk of going under during the recession, i do not believe the company is going to file for bankruptcy soon unless the current offer from Blockbuster to buy Circuit City falls through. If the deal falls through, Circuit City will be under a lot of pressure to do something dramatic to turn itself around. In the absence of a plan, and if the company continues to burn cash, they will have no choice but to file for bankruptcy protection.  As I have recommended before, if you currently hold a Circuit City gift card, now is the time to use it or risk loosing it should the company go under. I would also not recommend buying a Circuit City gift card until the dust clears. Readers, what are your thoughts about Circuit City and rumors a

    What is a series-parallel circuit?
    2008-04-18 05:30:59
With simple series circuits, all components are connected end-to-end to form only one path for electrons to flow through the circuit: With simple parallel circuits, all components are connected between the same two sets of electrically common points, creating multiple paths for electrons to flow from one end of the battery to the other: With each of these two basic circuit configurations, we have specific sets of rules describing voltage, current, and resistance relationships. Series Circuits:Voltage drops add to equal total voltage. All components share the same (equal) current.Resistances add to equal total resistance. Parallel Circuits:All components share the same (equal) voltage.Branch currents add to equal total current.Resistances diminish to equal total resistance. However, if circuit components are series-connected in some parts and parallel in others, we won't be able to apply a single set of rules to every part of that circuit. Instead, we will have to

    Seventh Circuit: NCLB trumps IDEA
    2008-02-15 11:42:00
The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has issued an interesting opinion inBoard of Educ of Ottawa Township High School District 140, et al., v. Margaret Spellings, Secretary of Education, et al., No. 07-2008. The Court affirms the District Court's dismissal of a challenge of NCLB as inconsistent with IDEA but not for lack of standing as the District Court had held. Instead, the Court ruled that NCLB, which was enacted in 2001, must prevail to the extent that there are inconsistencies with IDEA, the portions of which that were at issue were enacted between 1970 and 1990. You can find the decision at http://www.ca7.uscourts.gov/tmp/AU0PHBSR.pdfThe court did allow an interesting loophole. At the end of the opinion the Court noted that the challenge was to the entirety of NCLB, and the Court left open the possibility that portions of the Act, or specific regulations promulgated thereunder might yield. The claim against the entire statute was, however, too weak to allow

Interesting NCLB Decision by the Sixth Circuit: Is Divorce Likely?
    2008-01-15 14:06:00
The United states Court of appeals for the Sixth Circuit issued a noteworthy decision last week in Sch Dist of the City of Pontiac v. Spellings. The decision is interesting in that the Court held that the plaintiffs, a number of school districts and a teacher's union, with some of its affiliates, stated a cause of action that the districts are not legally responsible for the costs of implementing No Child Left Behind beyond the funds provided by the federal government for NCLB. The Court relied upon the provision in NCLB prohibiting unfunded mandates. The Court remanded the case to the trial court for resolution on the merits. Accordingly, it has no immediate impact. You can read the slip opinion at http://www.ca6.uscourts.gov/opinions.pdf/08a0006p-06.pdfI hear that one in two marriages ends in divorce these days. My question today is - coupled with the current stormy political climate for NCLB, could the marriage of NCLB and IDEA be headed to divorce court?

Shocking On Sale Laptops In Circuit City
    2008-01-15 13:29:00
My husband and I went to the Ciruit City 2 days ago, and when we need to buy something electronic stuff, we often shop this store. My husband bought a new GPS(Global Positioning System) and while he was finding a GPS, I did roaming around the store to the electronics stuff. I found out many laptops are on sale. I cannot believe it is much cheaper nowadays than before, when I saw the price is much cheaper, I wanted to buy them all (ha-ha) but the hindrance I am not rich to buy all of them (he-he). The one laptop that I owned which my hubby gave to me as a Christmas presents 2 years ago was almost $1500 dollars but it is included with the spysweeper and the norton internet security but there is no built-in webcam. I always wanted to buy a laptop which has built-in webcam but that time a laptop has a webcam is expensive and the price was almost $2,000 dollars and I do not want my husband will pay that much as I concerned he might be bankrupt (ha-ha) because of my wants. When I was looking around the laptops in Circuit City, they have laptops, which have a built-in webcam already, and the price was just about 500 and above they are much cheaper than my husband bought for me. I planned to buy a laptop for my brother this year, so that he can use it when he travels and that is my target to give him a laptop as a gift. I hope I can buy a laptop for my brother this year anytime soon.

    Circuit Of Initiation
    2007-12-12 12:57:00
ג' בטבת תשס"חGrael 4Elisheva's recent livejournal post on magical-mystical initiation energies (Power, Knowledge, Integration) prompted me to consider my own thoughts about the energy dynamics of mystical-magical initiation processes. This is what I think:I agree with the general concept that energy dynamics are part of any mystical-magical initiatory process, and that the "initiation energy" needs to be integrated and processed by the student-initiate, who is more likely than the teacher-initiator (who also must integrate and process the initiation energy) to not be able to handle as well as the more experienced teacher the newly released energy born of an initiatory process. For example, when I returned to Torah in 1996 and went to the mikveh, part of the ritual involved a release of energy possibly catalyzed through the blessing of the Kohen who "initiated" me. Nevertheless, I don't think initiation energies are simply transfers of energy from teacher to student.I think t

Fast forward 15 years, and I’m researching 3-week treks through the Himalaya. Needless to say, I’m asking a lot of questions. Trekking companies in Nepal are a dime a dozen. Luckily, I learned about Karnali Excursions during the Adventure Expo I attended earlier this year. I’m going to step out on a limb and suggest if a trekking company from Nepal can represent itself at a table for a weekend in Washington, DC, they must be doing something right (from a money/success standpoint, not necessarily that there are qualifications to be a part of the event). After reading the very informative Trekking in Nepal, and reviewing the treks on Karnali’s web site, I began to correspond with them via e-mail. I obtained pr

In striking down Ohio's credit, the Sixth Circuit adopted an "economic effect" test suggested by the plaintiffs:"(T)he economic effect of the Ohio investment tax credit is to encourage further investment in- state at the expense of development in other states and...the result is to hinder free trade among the states." (quoting Boston Stock Exchange, 429 U.S. 318, 336 (1977))We (along with others) set aside our policy arguments against tax incentives (which we make annually in our State Business Tax Climate Index) to argue that such an "economic effect" test would essentially mandate state tax uniformity, to the detriment of pro-growth state tax reform, and that state legislatures were better suite

How PCB files are transfered to circuit boards
    2007-05-21 17:20:57
When you are done with “clean” period of task – designing, drawing a circuit and tracing a PCB, you need to transfer a design to a real board. Here starts what I call a “messy” part of design. When designing at home there are several options - to use prototyping boards or make PCB by yourself. In second option you have to transfer PCB image to board with copper layer. There are several methods of doing this: direct transfer with glossy paper where image is printed with laser printer or use more advanced ultraviolet exposure. This way PCB image is printed on paper or film directly from program window without keeping in mind about pcb file formats. Different situation iswhen fabricating professional PCB’s. Each company which fabricates PCB boards always announce what type of file formats they support. So if you are going to order a PCB better check with them in order to save your time. The most common and standard format is so called Gerber file format. Almost all layout
